Braeden's body was almost to the state that Lord Elre's was. In a few more days, without the cure, he knows that Braeden will be gone.

Seeing Ailwin's dispirited expression, Nylian knows it isn't good.

"Is there really nothing we can do?" Prince Ailwin and General Gilwenys were his saviors when he was younger, he always look up to them as older brothers he never had. Knowing that one of them were going to die with a shadow over his heart.

"I don't even know what it is, let alone how to cure it… My healers have been working non-stop to cure this infection, but nothing is working." Ailwin lifted up his head and looked at Mika.

"Do you think you can take a look? I know it's asking too much to put this respon-"

"Of course I'll take a look. That's what I came here for." Mika stopped his words before he could say thing else.

A look of expectation flashed on his face before disappearing. He wanted to hug and thank her, but he felt that might put too much pressure on her.

An awkward mood settled in the room as Hycis, Celaena and Nylian could see the pleasant exchange between the two though they tried very hard to hide it.

"Let me to check your body as well..." Mika needed to remove herself from the room, she could feel her face getting hot from Ailwin's intense stare.

"En…" Standing up, Ailwin led Mika to the bathroom to check over his wounds from the attack.

Once they were gone, Hycis looked towards the closed bathroom door.

"They really are engaged huh…."

"Yea…" Celaena nodded her head, feeling slightly shy having witness the exchange between the two. When she and Hycis first heard about Mika and Prince Ailwin they thought that she might be exaggerating their relations.h.i.+p.

"Yup, their engaged." Nylian confirmed the truth. He hated to admit it, but Mikaela was quite capable.

Inside the bathroom, Mikaela asked Ailwin to show her where he gotten hurt.

He began the take off his s.h.i.+rt much to Mika's surprise and joy. Once the s.h.i.+rt was off though she could see the blood stained bandages going around his torso.

Forgetting her earlier joy, she slowly unwrapped the cloths from around his body. With each layer of gauze removed, she was afraid of what she might find. However, when all the bandages were off she only saw a smooth unmarked body.

"Where is the wound?" Mika looked up at Ailwin perplexed.

"What do you mean where is the wound it's right ther-" Ailwin had spun around to face the mirror to show her the location of the gash, but instead was more shocked than she was at his unmarked skin.

 "What the h.e.l.l...?" Ailwin whispered as he stretched his skin back and forth while also doing spins in front of the mirror to check his back.

"Ailwin, what is going on?" Mika asked seeing his actions.

"I was injured from here to here," Ailwin indicated the area of the now gone gash.

"...but there is nothing here, not even a scar."

"I know." 

"What did you do afterwards as treatment? It may help us figure out a cure for the rest."

"That is just it...nothing. I didn't let anyone know I was hurt, I was afraid that it might affect the soldiers to see both their Commander and General down, so..." 

"So? You just bandaged it up yourself...?" Mika was a little angry that he would treat himself in such away but she pushed her feeling to the side to figure out the cause of his healing.

"No, Kaze did it after we took care of the injured soldiers and Braeden."

"How long did you wait to get treatment?"

"Maybe a couple of hours...three at most."

Mika pulled back her arm and punched Ailwin in the gut with all her might.

"Argh!...ow….ouch! Wh-what did you do that for!?" Ailwin held his still tender torso as he backed away from Mika's attack range.

"That is for being stupid."

"What is that for!?" Ailwin saw the huge syringe and back away even further from Mikaela.

"Obviously, you have something in your system that can be of use to us, so I need to get it out." Mika walked closer and closer to Ailwin's s.h.i.+vering figure.

"Does it had to be with that thing!" He did not like the look of that syringe nor did he like the look in Mikaela's eyes while she held it.

"How else am I going to get a blood sample?… Just hold still, it will be over before you know it."

Mika tugged him over to the counter as she pulled out a few vials. Inserting the needle into Ailwin's arm, she began drawing blood.

"OW! It hurts!"

"Really...? This hurts?...You walking around with half your guts hang out doesn't hurt, but this hurt?" Mika suck her teeth at Ailwin's words.

The group sitting in the common room heard Ailwin's shouts of pain and wondered just how bad his injuries were.
