"Can I work on you, Resetarits?"

"Are you up to it?" he asked.

"I am."

"Okay."

Lottatna s.h.i.+fted to her side and patted the table so he'd lay beside her. Carefully, Resetarits got on the table and lay beside her. He wrapped an arm around her and rested his head on his other arm. Lottatna rested her head on one arm then set the other hand just below his shoulder. She closed her eyes while she felt the energy. Resetarits had an old, rusty, seaweed covered chain coming from his low back. She following it down to his earth star chakra, back up around his ankles then anch.o.r.ed in his root chakra.

"What were your parents like, Resetarits?" she asked.

"I don't remember. I was cared for by another couple."

"Fed, watered then left alone?"

Resetarits was quiet and she opened her eyes. His eyes s.h.i.+mmered. His lips moved, but he couldn't bring himself to speak. She kissed his forehead and pulled him a little closer while she started to slowly work the anchor out of his root chakra.

"I was an outsider!" he yelled. "I was an inconvenience. Only kept until I could care for myself. Never wanted. Never accepted by anyone."

"Until you met Licus."

He nodded. "But then when my touch changed her, she ended her life."

"And then you were isolated further, but could not stop your longing for acceptance."

Resetarits nodded, his fingers bunching up the back of Lottatna's leather jacket.

She was able to unhook the anchor and separate it from the rest of the chain.

"And then I changed you," he growled, taking it out on himself.

She let out a breath as she started to untangle the chain from his ankles. "No you didn't," she said.

"I did! If not for me you wouldn't…"

"None of that now. If I had not been pushed into you that Wednesday the change would have been my fault as I continued my friends.h.i.+p with you."

"See, I am horrible!"

"Resetarits, I did not say that so you could turn on yourself. You need to be kind to yourself; kind in a way that no one else was. Allow me to clarify what I meant."

Resetarits s.h.i.+fted and pressed his head against her neck.

"Like you, I was an outsider. My views of the world, my sensitivities to energy, my interests isolated me. No one I tried to interact with could relate to me. I only found that kind of interaction in cla.s.ses I took. But that has only been temporary. Despite that, these cla.s.ses taught me how beneficial touch is to the health of any living being." She lifted her hand to his neck and ma.s.saged it gently. "If not for your folded legs, the slight lean you did while the waitress took our order, and the removal of your arms from the table when she brought us our food, I would have touched you while we were in the restaurant."

"Don't say that!" he whispered.

"But since I didn't. As we continued to interact after that, learned to have fun together, I would have touched you in any one of those situations as well—despite what you told me."

"Why?"

"Because I touch those I am comfortable with; those I feel safe with."

Resetarits curled a little.

"Besides, needs speak louder than fears. And you, my wonderful mate, have need for a lot of touch."

"But…"

"No buts. It is important to meet your needs. Call me selfish, but I need a lot of touch, too."

That brought a chuckle out of Resetarits.

Lottatna was able to get the loose chain separated at the earth star chakra, but no further. She stopped her work and just held Resetarits for a while.

"Thank you, Lottatna," he said. "I feel better."

"Good. There is still more to do, but you've let me do as much as you can handle right now."

"Okay." He s.h.i.+fted again and they kissed. "Now if only there were a way I could help you with your pregnancy."

"You'll find things. Don't fret too much."

"Alright."

They kissed once more before they got off the table.

"How many more clients do you have today?" Resetarits asked.

"Four if they decide to come in."

"What can I do?"

"If you'll crack the door open, that would be wonderful."

He gave her hand a squeeze then did as she asked. Lottatna changed the sheet on the table. She was just tossing it into her laundry bag when her next client walked in. He slipped off his shoes and got on the table before she could finish making sure she was ready.

"Bring it on, Lottatna," he said.

"As you request, Joe."

His eyes studied her new face for a while as she started her work. Then he nodded and we worked through a deeply rooted sabotage relating to relations.h.i.+ps.

Joe paid her then left with as much pomp as he did coming in.

Once he was gone, Resetarits wrapped his arms around her chest. He pressed a deep kiss into the side of her neck. Lottatna lifted her hand and petted his head. They purred together as he rubbed her arm.

"Thank you, Resetarits," she said, turning to face him.

"You're welcome, Lottatna."

They kissed several times before she changed the sheet on her table. Her next client didn't come in, so they had a couple hours to snuggle and eat. Lottatna ended up falling asleep in his arms, but woke when her door creaked open. Her client stood there and watched them.

"Melissa," Lottatna said, standing. "How are you?"

"Not well. Can we do mojo today?"

"Certainly. Come in."

Melissa stepped in and Lottatna walked around to shut the door. Melissa slipped off her shoes then lay on the table. Lottatna stood next to the table.

"So what do you want to work on today?" Lottatna asked.

Melissa didn't verbally address Lottatna's question, but it was nice to see how much easier Lottatna moved around while she worked off the body.

"I'm seeing a man," Lottatna said after a minute. "He's… laughing and … waving a knife around."

"My brother," Melissa whispered.

Then she rolled to her side and curled into a super tight ball. But the movement seemed to have no affect on Lottatna's ability to work. Melissa cried then stopped then cried some more. This pattern of crying off and on went throughout the whole session.

"Okay, Melissa. That's all we have time for."

"Okay," she sniffled.

She rolled off the table then stumbled into Lottatna.

"Melissa?" she asked. "Melissa."
