We didn't hesitate or stopped to think that what we were about to was really stupid, and dumb. We just did it! That's right, we literally went to h.e.l.l. The first thing that got to me was the smell of ash and Sulphur: for a place of eternal d.a.m.nation and torment, it actually lived up to it's reputation.
I had scarcely moved five meters when a sort of goblin like, purple skinned demon with a forked tail jumped at me. Thankfully I had Soren who opened fire immediately, punching the tiny demon full of holes before it could get to me.
"My lord that was an Imp! It's a sort of high level pit demon due to it's intelligence, although it's quite weak. We need to get away from here before the rest of it's friends find us." Malek said to me as he flew over a metal disk, easily keeping pace with me on Soren.
"It has a pack?" I asked Malek as the ground below us began to bubble a little harder.
"No my lord! We're in h.e.l.l. Demons don't have packs, they have legions!"
BOOOM! SCREEEEEEEEEE! INTRUDERS!
A legion of, thousands of them filled and blotted out the sky as their tiny voices announced our arrival in h.e.l.l. I could see a blood moon in the sky, though it's light had not much of an effect on us because this place was mainly lit by the glow from the lava below us. But now, the numerous figures of the imps, blocked out a view of that moon, and accompanied by it, were vicious snarls and sounds from beasts that would otherwise give me nightmares.
"Pit demons!"
I didn't know who screamed, but it set off an explosive reaction as the demons swarmed us. Due to our small numbers, we were cut of from each other, and as the demons snarled, bit and clawed, we fought back.
[PUs.h.!.+]
One of the good things about branding a rune on your palm, is the ability to use it almost immediately without having to weave it. Usually it's beyond stupid to brand a rune on any part of your body, due to the fact that skin was not a good enough or strong enough material to handle runes.
But when you had the body of a vampire, the power, the strength, the resilience etc. Taking the power of a rune becomes as easy a breathing for you. I pushed the flying imps, and crawling pit demons away from my side as Soren opened fire on them. There was a ma.s.sive crackle of electricity as many of the imps fell from the sky like flies that had been bug sprayed.
There was an opening within this cloud of demons, but it was rapidly covered as they swarmed over us. I pulled my sword out, and etched the rune [BREAK], and then I called on that elusive sword skill of mine that has not been named, and did not even appear in my list of skills. Either way, I was preparing for something big, as I took a deep breath and allowed Soren to drive around as fast as he could, shooting at the legion of demons.
But just the mental energy sword skill and my rune was not enough for this, as I called upon my aura, coating my blade with it, and forcing it to glow an intense white light that drew the attention of a lot of imps and pit demons.

Soren increased his firing rate, but there were just to many of them, and in no time at all, we would all be swarmed. You heard Kodak and Gus call out for me, seemingly desperate to reach me, but they were held back by the same pit demons.
I waited, building more and more power as I finally decided to do something absolutely stupid. I combined my aura, my soul energy, and my mental energy together. Almost immediately I felt as if someone slammed a hammer on my head, and blood slurred out of my nose, eyes and ears.
All three energies were warring against each other. The soul power of memories and consciousness, the true essence of life, the mental power of the mind, a power I've not really understood, even now. And the Auric power of emotions: all combined, was without a doubt a recipe for disaster.
But within that resistance, for about ten seconds, I felt all of them blend into a single whole, becoming something different, something more powerful. And that's when I slashed, swinging my sword with every strength I could muster.
A white beam of light flew out of my sword, pa.s.sing through the thousands of imps, and even flying thousands of meters, going through hills and mountains. Nothing happened! I was half dead, yet all I did was release a beam of light that at most only tickled the b.a.s.t.a.r.ds. Seriously! What the h.e.l.l went wrong? This is supposed to be the ultimate mo.......
BOOOM!
Every imp and pit demon, ground, rock, hill or mountain that had the misfortune of being touched by the white beam of light, exploded in a shower of pure white light that made the fiery red h.e.l.l, look like a quaint corner in the celestial realm.
From where I was standing, my entire jaw was hanging on the ground as whole mountains turned to rubble, and many of those mountains I'm afraid to say where volcanic. Which means there was a ma.s.sive tidal wave of lava heading straight for us!
"Run!"
With more than half the imps and pit demons dead, we had enough s.p.a.ce to run and the others that were left behind were scared out of their wits by the sight in front of them. Which means there was no one left to impede us, as we all made a beeline for the other end of the plain, and the hill that held the door.
On our way towards the door, a demon ten foot tall and quite wide and well muscled flew up into the air. My guess is, this was the demon lord/general/ what ever the f.u.c.k this dude was that controlled the pit demons and imps here. He was about to open his huge mouth, probably to give a villain's monologue about how he wouldn't let us pa.s.s, or how we're going to die. But Queen seems to have a different talk in mind.
"Oh! f.u.c.k off!"
BOOM! CRACKLE! URGHHH!
A spear made of lightening completely went through his body as Queen appeared in front of him, and took his head off with a slap. Wow, I wouldn't want to be that guy, but I guess that takes care of our wannabe bad guy.
We all made our way through the other door, and into the tunnel, essentially leaving h.e.l.l behind as the lava tidal wave washed through everything in sight. The heat was almost unbearable, but somehow the hill that the door was situated on top, was completely safe and unharmed. Gus looked up at me and spoke through his telepathy.
[I wish we didn't have to go through that d.a.m.n place again.]
"You and me both Gus, you and me both."
The entire plane had transformed into a sea of lava and fire, and unfortunately we had to walk back the same way when we got back. Hopefully, whatever it is that's ahead of us, wouldn't be alas bad as what we just or almost had to experience. Urgh! There were just so many demons out there.
Seeing as there were no casualties, morale was at an all time high, and we all pushed forward. The tunnel we found ourselves in, still sloped upwards and the walls lit up our way. Eventually we made our way forward until the tunnel began to narrow, becoming smaller and a lot more uneven, looking more man-made than natural.
It eventually came to a stop at a normal wooden door, there was nothing special looking about it, no energy, no wards, and definitely no runes. It was just a simple wooden door. I turned to look at Queen and Malek who were standing beside me, before I pushed the door open.
A bright yellow light seeped through it's cracks, bathing the tunnel in a soft glow. But almost immediately, there was the sound of sizzling flesh, and the smell of burnt meat as every vampire around me screamed and moved backwards.
I was completely unaffected by the light that had just shone, but based on the reactions I could deduce exactly what it was that had burnt them so badly. I pushed the door close, and turned to them all, as they huddle within the darkness.
"Guys! That's sunlight!"
