The blast from Shao Tie's cannons had punched a hole through the Serpentis army. It was like someone had drawn a huge red line on a black paper. The smell of burnt flesh, ozone and Sulphur filled the air, and guided by the loud hisses and moans of pain, it sounded just like music to my ears. Tao tie landed beside me, and so to did, Soren and Bobo, with Baeki sitting on Soren's back, a spear of fire held tightly in her hands.
"We need to take out those cannons. It might not be any danger to us, but the vampires behind us, could still get hurt. There are nine left, you and Shao Tie take five, me, Bobo and Soren will take the rest." She said to me, as she pointed her spear towards the enemy, slowly sliding down from Soren's back.
"Why do we have to deal with more cannons than you guys, there's three of you!" I complained to her indignantly.
She turned her gaze to mine, as her black hair suddenly became orange and caught on fire, as did her eyes. A tattoo of Ashes suddenly appeared on her forehead, as wings, scales, horns and a tail all popped out of her body. The temperature around our immediate vicinity became really strong, as she asked me.
"Do you really want to get into this argument with me, right now?" She was right, arguing was stupid. Because whether she took five cannons or four, this confrontation was only going to end up in one way, all of this b.l.o.o.d.y snakes, dead!
I turned to look at Xaseah, her purple hair floating smoothly under the coaxing of the midnight breeze that coasted across the battlefield. She was beautiful, and I missed her, just as much as she missed me if not more. She gave me smug smile, as she tilted her head at me and asked.
[Do you like what you see?] I broke out in laughter, surprising everyone around me, as I replied to her through our bond.
[You know I do.]
[Well then, you better hurry up and deal with those reptiles then, because once you're done, you'll be seeing a lot more of me than you know. You have on hour!]
[One hour? My love you underestimate me. I'll be done in fifteen minutes tops, or less. Hope you have a bedroom in that camp somewhere.]
I cut of the connection and charged. A sonic boom, blasting out behind me, as I crashed into the first line of soldiers, protecting the first cannon. They were all blasted to pieces, and those of them that survived just the effects of my movements, were either on the ground clutching their bleeding ears in pain, or pa.s.sed out. I ignored them, as I turned to face the 15 meter tall solar cannon, though that's because it was resting on an engine with wheels.
It's length was about twenty to twenty five meters, and the barrel was almost ten meters in diameter. Safe to say, this was a big a.s.s gun. As I dug my fingers into the metallic frame of the cannon, I felt a blast of dark energy behind my head. It pushed my face forward, slamming against the body of the cannon, and indentation of my face showed up on it, leaving me very angry.

I bent down, and beaver, using all of my strength to raised the cannon up. That was a mistake as said cannon, flew up into the air like it was just a simple pebble, we t over the heads of the army, and straight to wards the border of the green district. It's current path would have continued, if a black barrier did not come to live around the border, and intercepted the cannon, forcing it to break apart in a loud explosion.
It was a spectacular sight, but I was already tuning my face away from it, as I moved towards the naga who had thrown the blast of dark energy at me, grabbed his head in my palms, and squeezed. His head was big, so all my fingers did was cave and dig into his skulls, as I turned his brain to mush. I avoided an ace thrown to my head, and softly muttered to myself.
"Unda Clypeus"(Ripple s.h.i.+eld.)
It was a zero circle spell, so I was sure it wouldn't last ten seconds under the intense barrage it was receiving. However this was as good a time as any to practice and get used to the new spells. Because no matter how hard this reptiles try to hit me, they can hurt me. Not even a little bit.
A hazy blue grey spell circle showed up around my body with me in the center. It flashed once as it began to pulsate, blocking the hit physical hit of the Nagas around me, and deflecting some of other blasts. Said s.h.i.+eld collapsed ten seconds later, and I had to cast the spell again. I really couldn't move, since I had to channel the spell, but I realized that augmenting with soul energy increased the duration of the spell, since it normally o my master fifteen seconds. And augmenting with mental energy, increased the strength, and made it tougher.
Only someone like me, would try practicing a spell during a battle, but I had to stop for now. If I don't finish this in fifteen minutes, Xaseah might bar me from the goodies. There's no way I'm letting that happen. I moved, heading to the second cannon, as Shao Tie was already ripping apart his second and head to the third. Rather than pick it up like before, I slammed my shoulder into it, and watched with fascination as the cannon flattened hundreds of the Serpentis, in the same manner someone would use a b.u.t.ter knife to spread jam or b.u.t.ter on a bread.
A sea of fire rose up from the left side of the battlefield, as Baeki, bonded with her dragon wreaked havoc on the Serpentis like some sort of flame G.o.ddess. Her attacks were precisely made to make all of her enemies feel the most pain before they succ.u.mb and burn to their deaths. It was a wild ride, no doubt, and she was every bit as invested in it as I was.
I dove into the fray, kicking, punching and ripping any one of the unfortunate enough to fall into my hands apart. It would be useless to call this a fight, because without a doubt, this was a ma.s.sacred. My feet left deep craters with ever step I took, and my punches had them exploding into a shower blood without even a second for protest.
There was no finesse to this, no plan or tactic, it was just downright animalistic. I wasn't playing by my normal rules, not this time. And with a superior body, the need for weapons and skills were rendered null, on this b.l.o.o.d.y field I was a G.o.d of death, and I wasn't going to show messy.
I grabbed a lamia by her tail as she tried running away from me, jerking her backwards as I slammed her body into her friends, using her as a whip to send every other Naga, gorgon or lamia around to h.e.l.l. And in the end she became nothing more than a pile of stripped flesh that I discarded like it was nothing. Soon I began to hear whispers as black tendrils began to creep and crawl up my body.
Over a hundred Nagas and lamias had surrounded me, and they seemed to be performing some sort of ritual. Their voice cra.s.s and grating as they called forth something terribly evil. Darkness began to seep out of their bodies as they also bled from the eyes, nose and ears, the scales on their body peeling off to reveal the flesh within. And the flesh caving in into itself, as they all became melded and reformed into a monster that stood over my head.
*Hissssssss*
"Well aren't you a big snake. You know I don't say this all the time, but I'm deathly terrified of snakes. And you! My friend are the biggest I've ever seen. So t.i.tan Boa, make your first move."
And the b.l.o.o.d.y thing did. It shot towards me so fast, that even with my speed, I almost couldn't keep up with it. It opened it humongous mouth, attempting to chow down on my body, but a simple step backwards allowed me to dodged being snapped into mush, by a snake hundreds of meters long and as wide as building or more. This s.h.i.+t was bigger than a dragon, and I was sensitive enough to notice that it was an amalgamation of hundreds of souls, all in torment.
And because said souls were in torment, it was driving the t.i.tan Boa insane, turning it into a mindless killing machine incapable of discerning friend from foe. My dodging it's attack seemed to make it angry, as it shot its close mouth towards me, hoping to probably run me over or something of the sort. I stretched out my hands to hold it back, as it slammed into my palms, pus.h.i.+ng me backwards with such speed that my legs dug furrows and ridges into the ground, raising a cloud of dust into the night air as it pushed me back.
Exercising as much control as I could, I used minor teleportation, hoping that my body recognizes the difference between shadow walk, and not throw me into the shadow realm. Yeah it was just wishful thinking, I was thrown into the shadow realm, with the b.l.o.o.d.y t.i.tan Boa following me. Because it's body was still stuck through the doorway, it couldn't get closed. I didn't want to think about the consequences of having a gateway to the real world open to the shadow realm, so I had to figure out way to kill this thing.
I called on my soul energy, about to weave on the Boa, but my runes were not responding. I was quite shocked for a moment, before I realized that I was practically in another dimension. Nature did not exist here, and so the power to alter it, won't work either. Which means I had to figure something else out.
I looked up and saw that the original inhabitants of the shadow realm, were coming close, getting drawn by the presence of a living being without the ability to shadow walk. The t.i.tan Boa was an obvious target, and since I was still tangled with the b.l.o.o.d.y thing, so was I.
Now I was all for the shadow beasts eating this b.l.o.o.d.y snake, but the gateway being open while they do so, was a bad idea. I need to cut this thing down to size. But before I could make any other move, more than half of it's body was sliced off, and just before the gate way closed, I could see Baeki waving her flaming spear as she incinerated it's decapitated half. I was jealous of her power, she was already a Dracula, but after the awakening, and the insane power boosts she gets from fusing with her dragon, with a little more training, she could contend and even kill low level G.o.ds, making her one too, in a manner of speaking.
But my problems were not yet over, it was common knowledge that cutting off the body of a snake was beyond stupid. Because said snake goes wild and angry, and attacks, and attacks and att
*BOOOOM* *HisssssssSssssss!*
"oww...…..so you can grow your body back. That's cool. Well see ya!"
So the t.i.tan Boa regrew it's severed body, and proceeded to use it to smack me away. It hurt, like I just got hit by a five year old, yeah it wasn't that painful. But I didn't have the firepower to take this thing out, and no runes to break it down to a cellular level within the shadow realm, so the only thing I can do is get the h.e.l.l out of here, and live this giant as snake behind as the dinner for the creepy crawlies that infests this realm.
And so I opened another gateway, and quietly slipped back into the real world. But the moment I returned, I really wishes I stayed behind. There were three t.i.tan Boas here, two times bigger than what I just face. And whilst Shao Tie and Bobo were keeping one occupied, Baeki another, the final one was being attacked by the vampires, and quite frankly they were not even leaving a scratch. This b.l.o.o.d.y Serpentis came prepared.
We were not fighting an army, this was a suicide squad.
