Kael Cor: A Vampire's Awakening Chapter 372 Yursk I : Dungeon Planets

I laid back with my eyes closed, a simple smile on my face as my mind and soul were far away from my G.o.dly body. I've been focused on the task ahead of me, but I was also focused on being a father. My mind has been split in two after all, and this gave me a chance to actively control my clone and spend some time with my kids at their school. However Ca.s.sie was still giving me the cold shoulder even if we've been spending quite a significant amount of time together. But I feel that we were making progress, at least at being friends anyway.

My vision changed, and all of a sudden I found myself along with Joshua and Baeki in the temple of the dragon kings. Emrys, Ashes and Viridian; Joshua's dragon was waiting for us. I guess it was time for them to tell is our next task.

It was hard to believe that this entire temple was actually made from the bodies of the dragons themselves, and could turn into a ma.s.sive stars.h.i.+p. Being a king of dragons came with quite a few perks, and it would be a lie if I said I didn't love it a bit. But ultimately this was still a life of responsibility, there's not much enjoyment to be had from having the fate of the universe resting on your shoulders.

"Well done on your retrieval of the Sword Key, we've received it and currently we've kept it in a safe place along with the s.h.i.+eld until such a time when you have a need for it. But for now more troubles are abound, and we need you guys to take care of it as this could spell potential doom for any single one of you." Viridian said as her green and white scales seemed to sparkle, and at times they seemed to fade into nothing.

"The dark G.o.ds have gotten a bit frantic, so much so that they've set their sights on a peculiar existence in this universe...…the dungeon planets."

I furrowed my eyebrows a bit in confusion, but at the same time I understood why this would be a cause for alarm. A dungeon, much like most things existing was a form of existence capable of growth. And dungeon planets are just that; dungeons who had reached the limit of the growth by expanding to cover an entire planet.

Till this day they're actually quite good grinding spots for adventurers and warriors, but these planets are powerful in their own right, and have birthed countless monsters both on it's surface and deep within it's bowels. Monsters that on their own have achieved levels of divinity that would make them comparable to G.o.ds. Monsters of that level have a different name than normal, they called them G.o.d beasts. And if the council of dark G.o.ds were really poking their noses around them, then we could be in big trouble.

"But why? The dungeon planets have been neutral so far in this war, dragging themselves into it means their very bodies would become a battlefield. Some of the might get destroyed." Joshua said as he looked at the dragons.

"But that's the idea isn't it, Dungeons grow and evolve from conflict and bloodshed that's done by them, on them, and with them. And it's in a Dungeon's nature to continually expand and grow, and even if they grown to completely encompa.s.s the planets they were born on, some of them have grander delusions of grandeur." Ashes replied as she blew a blast of smoke from her nostrils. She might be the fire dragon, but seeing something like that made me wonder if she was smoking. 

"What sort of delusions are you talking about?" Baeki asked, and this time it wad Emrys that answered her.

"A dungeon universe...…or at the very least a galaxy of star system."

"But that's impossible! It's insane!" Baeki said her voice raised to an octave in shock and surprise.

"For a dungeon, nothing is impossible. Nothing else, not even you the dragon kings can match the capacity for growth, they can continuously evolve and grown until they're everything and everything is them, which brings a startling discovery to us." Emrys said as he raised his wings and tucked them back to his side to get comfortable.

"We believe the devourer was or rather is a dungeon that's grown to powerful and, and too hungry. And in that note we believe there might be a way for us to kill him, rather than to remain pa.s.sive and just get earth away from it's clutches. Because when you think about it, there's no guarantee that it would stop trying to destroy us even after we've beaten it. Either way, we need more information about this devourer to be able to compile a proper data sheet about this ent.i.ty, and a way to defeat it." Ashes said as she lazily swung her ma.s.sive red and gray tail from side to side.

"Since that's the case, I guess I understand what we're up against, and what we have to do. So what are we doing next?" I asked them as I sharpened my focus.

"Kael you will have to split up from Joshua and Baeki. We don't really know what's going on with the dungeon planets, however the very idea that some of them would have sided with the dark council and even the Devourer itself should be considered a 100% possibility. Joshua and Baeki, you guys will regroup with the rest of the dragon kings, there's a particular group of nasty generals being cultivated by the dark council to oppose you, you guys have to put an end to them and investigate the dungeon planet that's currently serving as their base. Apart from putting an end to them, your mission would be to investigate the planet and make sure you collect samples of anything, living or dead that can help us understand and the study the devourer more.

As for you Kael, a small Dungeon planet on the fringe of the known universe has appeared. This planet just appeared three days ago, and we believe it's from the fourth universe, and for it to be here first, means it's quite special, and would be very much a target to the opposition. I've noticed a few of their scouts snooping around. You need to go undercover on that planet, get to know the locals as it seems to have a thriving civilization on it, though it's a bit primitive, and while you're a it, conquer the dungeon, and lay in wait. Also be sure to root out their agents already on that planet, they're trying to get a foothold on the fourth universe before the merge is complete, and we can't allow that. Also use this chance to get used to your abilities as a G.o.d, you would need them in the fight to come."

With that said, my vision seemed to change and I found myself staring at the ceiling of my room. I guess I now know where I have to go to next and what I have to do.....time to go beat a dungeon.
