Kael Cor: A Vampire's Awakening Chapter 76 Sundering Seals: Grow Up

The feeling of polished wood beneath my feet was soothing. There was a kind of comfort I felt from it, that I couldn't put my hands on. The entire first floor of the tower is bound to be different now. Of course I was in a different place entirely, probably one of the apartments that has been built within the tower. It's tasks must have been completed, which meant there was quite a few things to be done now, there really was no rest for me.

As I tried to get to my feet, my eyes flashed as I remembered everything that I've had to go through when I was destroying Asha's seal. The horror of that experience has stuck with me, because even now I could still feel it's effects, I could still see it, hovering somewhere at the back of my mind, festering and building until it pours out of me as poison and decay. I changed, I don't know how, but I knew I had changed.

I had lost something, an innocence of sorts, and I felt worried about it, but in the end I somewhat felt that this was for the best. What I have to do is not going to be easy, it's bound to be the most difficult thing I will ever have to experience in both of my lives, but I saw it for what it was...….purpose.

I'm not so sure about destiny or fate, but I understood responsibility and choices. And I knew in a manner of speaking this was my responsibility, I choose to make it so. Because if I fight, then no one else has to suffer or go through the h.e.l.l I have. I have to fight so that my child would be born into a world that's better for a significant amount of reasons.

I wanted to make a world that wouldn't try to hurt my child, instead it would be a world that will fight and protect him or her from what ever darkness the universe might throw at them. It seems like some sort of stupid dream, or an illusion given how f.u.c.ked up reality truly was. But this is what I'm going to be aiming for.

Well since that's out of the way, I don't think there would be any immediate need to increase the level of the tower. Because even if I increase the level of tower, without the proper resources to bring it's full capabilities to out, it's high level would just be cosmetic. I think the tower would only have an option of attack at level six or something , I can't really remember what it told me the last time I asked, but the defense options should be available now. As for the attack options...at the moment I was much to lazy to ask.

I took a look around the room I was in and couldn't help but marvel at the towers functionality. The walls were painted a deep blue and light blue that swirled and intertwined with each other making a whirlpool of blue that was just hypnotic. The bed was soft, thick blankets whose material I couldn't even tell, and the soft sheets and pillows beneath me felt like a slice of heaven.

The bed should have been made with wood energy, even the sheets and blankets, though it would seem confusing I somewhat understood how it was possible. Wood energy did not just encompa.s.s the wood from already processed trees, but also plants and all their variations. Which meant cotton was a commodity the tower would be able to create, process and use to perfection.

Create monsters was a skill that always grew along with the level of the tower, and from the looks of things it could now be considered to have reached a really high level. Energy conversion jumped two levels from the last time I saw it, but this was good. In a manner of speaking that skill is also partly dependent on the level of the tower rather than proficiency.

Energy gathering was also level three, though I hardly know the effect of that skill, but I could see it's results. I had two extra points of creation energy than last time, and 70% darkness energy that I had a feeling was released when I broke Asha's seal.

By now, the bas.e.m.e.nt should have been somewhat changed, the indoor pond should also be functioning.

There was an obvious change in the way the tower handled and presented it's displays. Though somethings didn't change from what they looked like at the tower's lower levels, it was still a good improvement. Now however that the tower had shown a method of defense, this was something that I had to take seriously, it would be among my most important priorities now.

I wasn't really surprised though. Creation energy was capable of creating things from nothing, and with a higher leveled energy conversion skill, it was possible for me to get more elemental essence energy from the exchange. It was like the exchange rates of two countries, the country with a better economy would have the value of their money increase steadily, while the country with the lower economy would experience a steady decline of the worth of their money.

All of the energy I had available barely met the requirements to complete all the tasks, but they did. And I was not too worried about this because I felt that I would eventually be able to take care of everything I had to take care of.

I couldn't do anything about my monsters though, and that was due to a serious lack of biological energy. But another hunting expedition is not something I can undertake at the moment, this time, I intend to unlock my seals, and the seals of everyone in the tower, so that I would have someone who could help me hunt and carry our spoils of war back. So in essence, I was just looking for glorified pack mules.

But that was not the only reason, while I had a bigger calling waiting for me out there in the sea of stars, I also had to think ahead in regards to my future here, on Shearath. There's bound to be conflicts in the future, and I felt it would be good if the people in the tower get accustomed to combat after they're unsealed.

Because even if I set them free, our enemies are all still well trained warriors, rogues, mages, warlocks, berserker etc. The list of powerful trained cla.s.ses that could lob of the head of any vampire was endless. All these people knew how to do was mine, so I needed to get them familiar with their cla.s.ses, and their strengths, to teach them how to fight.

I couldn't help the smile that came to my face as I realized something, my name had changed. Well not really changed, it was no longer showing Jason's name with question marks. I was fully me now, there was no split, no other person within, just me. I felt happy about it, the memories running through my mind about my first life were not overly pleasant, but they're parts of them that I cherish. Because in a way, knowing about my past, will help avoid making the same mistakes I made in the past, and not just my mistakes, but the mistakes of my parents too.

I had two new pa.s.sive skills in martial arts and illusion resistance. I had to suffer to get that illusion resistance, and even with all the h.e.l.l I just went through it was only basic level 3,that's not fair at all. Martial arts, are probably from my memories as Jason, but since my body has no knowledge of it, it's only graded at advance instead of master. All I had were the knowledge of the moves and not the experience to perform them with this body.

I was growing stronger no doubt, but with my seal still on me, I was limited in what I could really do, or achieve. I had to break it, however, I promised Xaseah I would be. Breaking her seal next, and since she could also be considered my wife, it would be considered unfair to deal with Asha's seal, and not jump to hers next. I was really worried about what she would think if I did such a thing. So I was determined to do hers next before mine. Even though I really had the urge to just break my seal, I had a responsibility to Xaseah, just as much as I did to Asha, I wouldn't be the kind of man who wouldn't take care of his own woman.

Its funny though, when I still lived as Jason, I really had no intentions of getting near a woman due to how little trust I had for members of the opposite s.e.x due to my mother's infidelity, but I also never imagined that I would be in a relations.h.i.+p with not just one but two crazy hot women...…and people say fantasies don't come through.

There were a lot of things about life I had to consider and learn. My childhood on earth was messed up, so in a manner of speaking you could say I never got to grow up. Throughout my adult life, I was still the same kid fighting his father to sooth his guilt. But this truly was a second chance, so even with total annihilation heading for my universe or universes in this case, I wanted to finally grasp this chance to be happy, and to grow up.
