On the other hand, Aldarion was also happy because when he left Bree and his departure was considered official, the system imposed a mission called 'Meet Cirdan'. Even that Cirdan had not appeared in the movies was very important. He was one of the Teleri lords, he was the possessor of Narya the ring of fire, one of the three rings of power. Moreover, as if it were not enough, he is the guardian of one of the Palantir, specifically the Stone of Elostirion.
"I wonder if Cirdan will let me look at the Palantir ..." Aldarion could not stop thinking about this since he knew he had to meet Cirdan. Not everyone can say that they have looked through one of the famous stones and, even though this stone only focuses on the sea, it is still a great experience in life.
Apart from dreaming about this idea, traveling alone had left him a lot of time to think about various things. For example, he had to learn to get food because, even though he had left Bree with provisions, they would not last forever. Aldarion had some knowledge of forest fruits, like berries, from his previous life on Earth, but being otherworldly not want to risk ending poisoned therefore expect to find someone to teach him something.
Therefore, he only had the option to hunt. Along the way, Aldarion had seen enough animals, such as rabbits and wild boars, so he knew he would not be short of prey. The problem was that he knew nothing about hunting traps, so he would have to use the bow he had.
That same day he had already tried to hunt some rabbit, but whenever he got close he got his attention and they escaped. Failing so many times was desperate, he needed to learn to hunt if he wanted to eat in the future. Even upset, Aldarion realized that each time he was getting closer to the preys, so in his current rest he was a.n.a.lyzing all the movements he had made to know that he was fine and that he was wrong.
With his insight he learned that the fact of being able to get closer was because he was paying more and more attention to his surroundings, so he made less noise. This led him to realize that he was on the right track so he got up with determination and continued his way thinking about when he would meet another prey and could put his theory into practice.
....
That same day, a few hours later.
Aldarion had been very vigilant during his march in case he saw an animal and, finally, after a few hours he had managed to see a rabbit. The rabbit was quietly chewing something in his mouth, quiet, as if he had nothing to worry about. Aldarion could not pa.s.s up this opportunity.
Without getting nervous, Aldarion grabbed his bow and prepared an arrow. Looking around, he observed which was the best route to approach the rabbit. Having chosen a route, Aldarion began to walk without losing sight of where he was walking. He did not want to step on any branch or anything that could make noise and alert the rabbit.
Carefully he got to a good distance and in a good position. Crouched behind a bush that camouflaged him but allowed him to aim and shoot through it, Aldarion tensed the bowstring and pointed at the rabbit. Then he breathed several times to relax his pulsations, hold his breath in a moment and shot.
The arrow shot out and without making any noise it crossed the s.p.a.ce between him and the rabbit quickly nailing in the body of the animal and killing it at once.
At the time the rabbit died an advertis.e.m.e.nt of the system came to Aldarion. "Ding! The user has killed a rabbit +5 experience points." Without giving him time to react, a second warning sounded in his head. "Ding! The user has obtained the ability 'Stealth (F)'."
Aldarion's eyes were wide and he blinked from time to time. He was very surprised because not only had he managed to kill the rabbit, but they had given him experience and, if that was not enough, he had achieved a skill that would be very useful. If he managed to develop this ability, not only would hunting be much easier, but it could save his life in the future.
Aldarion was so happy for his achievement that he ran out to collect the fruit of his effort. He approached the rabbit and took off the arrow carefully so as not to spoil it, put it in the quiver and keep the rabbit in his inventory to eat it at dinner.
In fact, thinking about the dinner he realized that it would soon begin to get dark, so he started back on his way, but this time looking for a place where he could spend the night more or less sheltered.
Aldarion had to walk another half hour until he saw a ledge on a stone wall forming a small cave. This cave was perfect, it would shelter him from the wind and allowed him to light a small campfire to cook the rabbit.
Without thinking, he went to the cave, found that there was no animal living in it and took a little inventory from the inventory that he had collected along the way for these occasions. Having lit the fire, Aldarion took out the rabbit and, since he did not have a knife, had to use his sword to gut and skin the dead animal. "Mental note, get a knife." Aldarion told himself. After preparing the rabbit he went through with a branch and placed it in the bonfire to cook it.
Once he saw that it was already well cooked, he enjoyed his good food and went to sleep. It is not that he was going to get much rest, he knew it was the best.
