Knowing the right spells, for the right enemies!
Wizards require certain spells to beat them, werewolves require certain spells to beat them, giants require certain spells to beat them, and on and on. You get the point!
That right there differentiates between a powerful wizard and an average wizard. And it is not something I could do. It took me a long a.s.s speech, which covered the topic of all the types of ghosts that I know of, to get prepared for this battle.
That should make it absolutely clear to you, of how unequipped I am as a wizard, and why would not I be. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of spells out there in the great wide world, and I could learn them all, if I wanted to. But that would do me nothing, except increase my knowledge, since how many spells you know would not matter at the end of the day. It is how you apply those spells, that truly matters.
That is exactly why I pressured Professor Flitwick to open up the dueling club. Learning dueling techniques will help me offset this major issue that I have.
And this is not an issue that only I have, it is something that all students who graduate from Hogwarts face. Students at Hogwarts are taught all manner of spells and knowledge, then they are just thrown out, to simply fend for themselves. They simply have no clue what to do with what they have in their hands.
But dueling fixes that all for you. Dueling is an ancient art, that wizards and witches have been practicing for countless millenniums. It is one of the first arts to appear when wizards and witches started to pop out, along side with magic.
Dueling shows you, how to automatically and subconsciously fire off the right spells, it trains you how to be on your toes, it teaches you what spells to use against what enemies, it guides you on how to fight a battle smoothly and effortlessly, and most importantly, it teaches you how to beat your opponent.
All in all, dueling is fundamental and crucial for a wizard or witch. That is why I was so b.u.mmed out that I could not enter the dueling club this year. Still, I have six years ahead of me to learn from one of the best duelists in the country, Professor Flitwick, who, I will have you know, is also a reigning Duelling Champion.
Anyways, I console myself by saying that; "People always know that the first year of anything is going to be awful. They have to find their footing and ident.i.ty, so it will take some time. Anyways when I enter, everything is going to be rosy and wonderful, so let the underlings do all the hard work."
I turned to face George and asked him, "You ready?" George nodded his head, as he held up his wand like you would a sword. He also took out a few vials of potions from his robe pocket, potions that I gave him before we set out on our detective work. Even though it pains me greatly to hand out my potions that I stockpiled in my suitcase, which I will have you know took a great deal of sweat, blood, and tears.
Fred was the only one who did not get the underlying message about my long winding speech. The guy was so entrapped in my lecture, he even went on to ask me, "Hey Caelum, you have not explained what an Evil spirit, Myling, Shadows, or a Revenant is. You even said that the lists goes on, so why don't you go on and continue to explain."
Then he turned to look at George, who was staring at him like you would an... animal. "What?" Fred said as he plastered an offended expression on to his face.
George just said to him in a matter of fact tone. "You do know that we were supposed to be getting combat-ready, not just lounging around and listening intently to what Caelum had to say, right?"
Fred looked at the two of us as his neck craned from side to side, with nothing to say to his defense he added. "Well, I will have you know that what you proposed, dear brother, is just simply rude! Anyways, you guys could have just said, get ready Fred, how am I suppose to understand your top of the line serect messages. It is like you think I am some sort of spy."
"You could just simply say I am an idiot, or maybe, paint it on to your forehead. That would really do the trick in my opinion." I said from the side lines, and I said it in a bored tone, so that my line could be effectively be delivered. But there was nothing stopping the twinkle in my eyes.
For the second time in one day, I delivered an awesome burn on to Fred, and just as he was about to go off crying somewhere, or maybe, come up with a comeback, I said 'maybe' here, so that means most unlikely.

Fred was interrupted for the second time, and this time, I was not endorsing the interruption at all. This time a voice interrupted Fred, as he wanted to say something, and it was not George's or mine. It was a masculine voice and it was a rich and honeyed. The voice came from everywhere and it was deep. It was really like the voice of the devil speaking to you. And we all hear what it said loud and clear.
