Proofread by Prof Zhu Yuan
Yan Li became furious at the bad news of his father's imprisonment. However, as a man who had lived three times, he clearly knew that anger only made him lose the ability of making right judgement.
"Puff."
Exhaling deeply, Yan gradually composed himself, asking, "Have you found out who is leading behind the scenes?"
"No." Uncle Wu shook his head with regrets.
Yan Li's eyes became dimmed. He thought, "Among the many princes, Li Chengzong, the second son, Li Yuanxun, the fourth, Li Xuanji, the eighth is most compet.i.tive to become the new successor."
Li Wuming, Yan's father, was no longer the successor, suggesting he had no threats to them, but why did they do so?
Or rather, the manipulator was not one of the three, but someone else. After all, the princes other than the three were also capable, having their own teams, though less compet.i.tive than the three.
Since three souls had integrated in him, Yan Li was extremely intelligent. With an easy a.n.a.lysis, he figured out two possibilities: First, they three had done this. They developed a plot to imprison Yan's father with the true intention to make him feel compelled to return the capital, because he might bring potential changes.
Now that he was in the Dahuang Palace, they could not succeed a.s.sa.s.sinating him, but once he was on the road back to the capital city, he might be killed halfway. Even if he survived the a.s.sa.s.sination, he would be on the decline after he arrived in the city. However capable he was, he was like a fish in the sea who was too small to stir the seawater.
Second, people other than the three princes planned all these in order to seek profits in chaos.
However, Yan considered the first more probable.
Despite Yan's a.n.a.lysis of the possibilities, he had to face the dilemma of whether to return to the capital or not.
He might disrupt their arrangement if he chose to stay in the Palace, but might induce more aggressive means which forceed him back.
But he would be in great danger, or even risked his life if he returned.
"Uncle Wu, do you think I should go back?" Yan Li looked to Wu Zhongmou, undecided.
"Young Master. Certainly not at this moment. It's like a sheep going towards a lion." Wu Zhongmou was so frightened that he hurriedly persuaded Yan not to.
"But what if they continue to use my father to force me?" Yan asked.
Wu Zhongmou did not speak, but took out an envelope from his chest which read only six words—only for my son to open.
Yan Li's was filled with tears when he saw these four characters. They were not written by Li Wuming.
Taking out the letter, Yan quickly browsed the short message which told him that his father was free from deadly threats during the imprisonment, so he had not to worry about him and should not go to the capital, staying in the Dahuang Palace instead.
Yan Li relieved after reading the letter. Now that his father was safe, it was unnecessary for him to return. Though his father was now a coward, as the previous successor he must be capable of creating a leeway for himself by adopting extraordinary means.
"It seems that I used to look down on my father!" Yan said to himself.
After receiving the letter, Yan Li's face revealed a trace of joy as he told Uncle Wu his decision.
Walking slowly out of the courtyard, Yan looked upon the waning moon which reminded him of the feeling of missing someone. “Long Ziyue, where are you?” he thought.
As a normal person on Earth, it was strange enough in his experience that his soul transcended to the Tianhuang Land, but more than this, he came back to life after he died. Wasn't all this far too unbelievable?
He initially suspected that all this was closely related to the Mixed Yuan Map in his head. At this moment, it suddenly occurred to him that it had been a long time since the last time he explored the Map because of his engagement in practice.
As he was pondering, Yan suddenly found himself entering a magic s.p.a.ce where a light golden book was floating—it was exactly the Mixed Yuan Map. The Mixed Yuan Cla.s.sic he had practiced before it was derived from it.
Yan waved his hand, and the Map fell into his palms.
Suddenly, he frowned slightly. The Map felt heavier and colder, quite different from the last time he held it.
"It feels real. Isn't it...?"
For a moment, Yan Li's heart beat heavily. He touched his body.
It felt so real. It was real!
"My physical body got into this s.p.a.ce, but last time just my mind!"
Yan was greatly surprised.
As soon as he controlled his mind, he went out of the s.p.a.ce, back to reality, only to find Uncle Wu rubbing his eyes with an unbelievable expression not far away.
"Uncle Wu, what happened just now?"
"Young Master. you suddenly disappeared for a moment of a breath." Uncle Wu said.
The time of one breath equaled two seconds in the physical world. It was about ten seconds after he entered the Mixed Yuan s.p.a.ce. That was to say, in the s.p.a.ce time pa.s.sed five times more slowly than in reality.
Five times slower!
For an instant, Yan Li could not hide his excitement. What he wanted most?
Time!
He was in want of time. The discovery of the Mixed Yuan s.p.a.ce quintupled the time. If he invested all his time to practice, he could make rapid progress.
"Young Master. Just now ...!"
Uncle Wu felt more puzzled when he saw the complex expressions of Yan Li,
"Uncle Wu, this is a secret! Do not tell anyone!"
"Yes! "
Uncle Wu hurriedly answered in low voice.
Yan fully trusted Uncle Wu. Fortunately, only Uncle Wu was here. It would bring a big trouble if others saw him suddenly disappear.
Considering this, he became vigilant that he should find a hidden place when he entered the Mixed Yuan s.p.a.ce next time.
Later, going back to his room, sitting cross-legged on the bed, Yan started to control his mind, and at the next moment, he showed up in the s.p.a.ce.
Touching himself to confirm that his physical body had come in, he couldn't help but call it magic.
"How is the heavenly and earthly vigor in the s.p.a.ce?"
Getting away from distractions, Yan composed himself and started to meditate.
Yan was surrounded by five elements.
Then the wind elements.
Finally, the thunder elements!
"Oh my G.o.d!"
Yan could not help being excited as he felt the thunder elements. Its density in the s.p.a.ce was also five times larger than the outside world.
Therefore, the speed of cultivation would be five times faster than the outside. In addition, the pa.s.sage of time here was also a fifth of the outside world.
In this way, the speed of practice was at least ten times faster.
"Good! That's great!"
For a moment, Yan couldn't help but shout.
After calming himself down, he drowned himself into meditation again and began to absorb the thunder elements to enlarge his Qi sea.
The Yuan realm had three levels: Ningyuan, Shenyuan, and Poyuan.
Ningyuan was the process of condensing the Qi sea; Shenyuan the process of enlarging it; and Poyuan should only be achieved when the Qi sea was broken down.
At the beginning, Yan Li a.n.a.lyzed his qualities. With nine whirls, he had the vigor three times more than those who had only three in their Qi sea, enabling him to cultivate the skills at a similar pace. But it was somehow a little harder for him. Though he was much more gifted than ordinary people, it was impossible for him to reach the Shenyuan realm unless something magical happened to him.
Things became different. In the Mixed Yuan s.p.a.ce, time required for a breakthrough was greatly reduced. If it was ten times faster than outside, he could break into the Shenyuan realm in more than three months.
