"Dragonieth aside. I urge you not to continue to The Glan. Turn around now and take the Path through Daeg Forrest to the Glastone Alps. If you don't reach the Temple of Nefarious before the joining of the Moon and Sun by the end of Winter, Staar will not see a Spring." Azaria soberly declared.
Hot desert winds stirred about free flowing strands of his fiery red hair across his cheeks and firm shoulders.
"What do you mean, Staar will not see a Spring?" Corin blurted. He felt the Lifestone rest heavily against his chest.
"I was informed by my kin that Oligarch is pa.s.sing through the Shadow Regions past the Glastone Alps with an army marching for the North Clans. The Strongholds from the Summerfell Clan Council will not be able to temper the oncoming storm Vorn's Patriarch brings to their doorstep. Should they force their way through to reach the Temple of Nefarious before you do. They will succeed with their aims."
"I don't understand. Don't they need the Dragonieth and Lifestone?" Luca asked.
"The Draonieth doesn't need to be present at the Temple to be activated. Activating the power they need requires the Deathstone. Fortunately this can only be done at the temple."
Azaria answered and continued to explain that the Lifestone was used to temper the Dragonieth power; for the purpose of refortifying the barriers of the world. The Deathstone counteracted this purpose. The last time it was used it broke down the barriers and allowed the Dragonieth to revert to primal energy.
"Lifestone is useless if the Deathstone is activated first. Hence, why the Dragonieth must not be awakened." Azaria finished his explanation with a scoff and upturned nose at Luca's ignorance.
"Corin. They'd already be a week a head of us." Darick, fretted. His brows knitted with worry.
"We're so close now. This is our people we're running for. I must save Hannah!" Corin persisted. He faced Darick with an earnest appeal. "If it was Luca you had to save, there'd be no hesitation, right?"
"I'd want to see Darick fulfil his quest to save all of Sol." Luca angrily interrupted.
Corin persisted to gain an answer from Darick.
Darick sighed when he felt all eyes were on him for one. "Sorry Luca, but I'll drop everything to save you. Corin's right. This is our women and children we're going to save."
Luca sighed with understanding and lowered his head to hide his happiness. Darick's response made him fall more in love.
"Stubborn Lochlea Brothers." Azaria groaned. He faced Darick with a sincere smile. "Yet I'm glad to hear My Love is devoted to those in his heart."
He neared Darick and whispered coyly. "May I also be one worthy of your unyielding devotion."
Darick awkwardly smiled in response.
Azaria stepped back and went to retrieve his pack that he slung over his back. He picked up a sheathed longsword that had been hidden behind it on the ground, and holstered it to his thick black belt to flank his side.
"You're going to need a fast way through the Forbidden Desert Swamp to The Glan walls." He advised them.
"Fast?" Corin frown.

Azaria flashed him a c.o.c.ky smile. "I can guarantee a path to the walls within an hour."
Corin scoffed with disbelief. The last time he reached the walls it took him half a day.
"The problem with you land creatures is you can't see from the skies." Azaria's smile widened, knowingly.
Corin and Darick shared pensive looks. Luca rechecked their inventory and readied his weapons.
"Lead the way," Corin said, giving Azaria the lead.
Azaria grabbed a shard of bluestone from the ground, tapped a standing boulder and said the spell that would break down the barriers and allow the boulders magic to be resupplied beneath the sun.
They raced through the desert's harsh terrain, hot winds whipped grains of sand against their bare skin as they went.
