The reception was stone silence and averted gazes as I stepped down the flight of stairs and opened the gla.s.s door to enter the bar room.
"War! Death!" I approached them, feeling relieved to see them.
"I'm alright Famine. Although, I can't remember what they extracted." Death sighed.
"Me neither." War soberly confirmed.
I sighed, nodding my head. We had all lost the memories that had been forced out of our minds to be played out on the stage. When I thought about it, we could compensate the loss with other memories. Also, there were knights here that could remember for us, I hoped.
"Hey Gat s.h.i.+em Brothers." Jensen called out to us as he entered the bar area and took a seat on a stool next to the one Death sat on.
"I got your back. You have my support. Especially you Famine. To see your brother taken from you..." He sighed and got up to help himself to a stiff drink.
"Yeah. Don't let Captain's words scare you." Wilfred added as he entered the bar and joined Jensen's hunt for a drink. "He's not mad at you. You're one of us. I'm sorry about what my Pops did."
"We respect you guys even more. Especially you Famine." Lita continued to add to the rea.s.surance with a dainty smile that reminded me of her beauty and femininity. "Let me make you a drink to compensate for the c.r.a.p our old timer had put you through."
Wilfred and Jensen paused with a worried look on their faces. They tried to stop Lita before she could grab some bottles to mix a drink. It was too late. She had quickly whipped up a drink that resembled hot lava in a gla.s.s. It was even smoking around the brim.
Death, War and myself leaned on our stools to study its thick texture more closely. I gave the smoking devil's drink from h.e.l.l a dubious look. Should a drink being bubbling, hissing and spitting at you? It sat on the polished bar counter, reaching a boiling point.
"Um, are you sure it's a drink?" I gulped with worry.
"Drink aside. Are you sure it's not going to turn you into a frog?" Death raised one of his brows.
"Tsk. You men scared of one little drink this delicate woman made you. I'm offended." Lita pouted.
"All yours mate." War slapped my back.
"Don't look to me." Death waved off my plea for help. "Lita made this especially for you."
"Mean. Aren't you meant to be my brothers." I cursed under my breath.
"Brothers are one thing. This is most definitely a task you must brave on your own." Death patted my shoulder with a lopsided smile. "If it helps, I can rea.s.sure you of the Acts of Bravery from the Magism Code of Conduct and Consequence."
"Ugh!" I groaned loudly as I pinched my nose and downed the h.e.l.lfire liquid with one go.
"HOLY c.r.a.p! HOT!" I jumped off the stool, hopping with hot pain I felt all over my tongue and burning a fire down my throat. "b.l.o.o.d.y h.e.l.l!"
I stupidly fanned my drooling mouth that was gasping for cold air.
"Here," Leinard said when he entered the bar room, poured some water into a gla.s.s and handed it to me, stifling his laughter.

"Um, I made sure to hold back on the Hot Sauce and Jalapeño juice." Lita coyly apologized.
"Jalapeño juice! Are you insane?!" I clumsily cursed when I could stop my tongue from flopping out of my mouth.
I helped myself to a full bottle of water from one of the bar fridges.
"Um, Famine, you might want to stop drinking that." Leinard gingerly warned me.
I stopped, feeling my insides swimming about all of a sudden. My vision blurred and cleared to the sight of stars twinkling about everyone's faces like they were superstar heroes.
"Colonel. I feel funky." I blinked. A wee bit out of it.
Someone spun a record on a gramophone. It played a swinging jazz track that moved my body into dancing.
I pulled Lita into a Charleston, Quick Step, Fox Trot and some other insane dance; spinning her about until she was spinning across the floor on her own.
This stirred the knights into a rowdy and loud frenzy, cheering my fast moves and killer ch.o.r.eography kicking up the bar room and lounge area (literally).
I got everyone up and dancing about or clapping me on with laughter until I dropped flat to the ground. My chi spent.
Laughter rang about my ears and stars wheeled around my vision.
"Hey, Famisto! You still on Sol?" War chuckled as his starry green eyes looked down on me.
"Shuddup." I mumbled my curses, unable to move my body from off the floor.
"I can take him back to our room." Death sighed.
"Yah carry meh like a princess I shoot yah." I grumbled.
Death ignored my threats as he hauled me off the ground and I hung about his arms in a Princess Hold. I was too out of it by then to finish off my complaints as he carried me off.
