Thus, when the Empress wore the Phoenix head ornament Shu Liu designed, XuanRong ordered Shu Liu to place a poison neutralizer on the crystal beads of the Phoenix eyes in order to erase the effect of the poison in the red jade bracelet. XuanRong prepared an odorless poison similar to the poison Xu Jing Xin used. It was placed at the edge of the nine feathers of the Phoenix head ornament. As time pa.s.s by, the odorless poison would disperse slowly and would only leave a tiny white powder. A little bit movement and the powder from the feathers would fell to the red Phoenix robe the Empress was wearing.
Based on the memories of her previous lifetime, XuanRong knew that after the Emperor announced the end of the banquet, a fl.u.s.tered Imperial Physician would enter the banquet and announce that Imperial Concubine Jin had lost her child, leading to the Emperor's wrath.
