Jun Kai had taken big steps back into his room. His room was dark with only the light coming from the moon that illuminated the inside.

He stepped closer towards his large window and his eyes lingered outside his room towards a certain direction. Jun Kai was deep in his thoughts as he watched the other person outside. He softly whistled a short tone.

From the darkness, a figure dressed in black with the same colour mask covering his face appeared in front of Jun Kai. The newcomer greeted Jun Kai and silently waited for his boss' orders. However, it had been some time, and yet, Jun Kai was motionlessly quiet. The black figure's boss did not seem to want to move or speak any soon. Nevertheless, he patiently waited for his boss to give orders.

It took some time, until Jun Kai slowly opening his mouth, "The needle..."

"Yes, sir?" The clad in black seemed to be slightly confused about what his boss was referring to.

Jun Kai was in deep thoughts. Where was the needle from? And who was it aimed at? Him or her? Even his best subordinate was unable to detect anyone else.

Thus, Jun Kai asked some more, "Fu Li, did you notice anyone else besides you in the garden?"

"Uh, no sir. What's wrong sir?" Fu Li became nervous inside as he thought he had made a mistake.

"Hmm."

It was beginning to get more interesting, Mi Rong ah, I hope it was not you.

The room became dead silent.

However, this was like a torture for Fu Li as he was starting to breathe irregularly and his heart was beating fast. He didn't dare move or speak because his boss was too unpredictable ever since their madam had pa.s.sed. Even though his master was not brutal and would not kill him, but the punishments were simply too unbearable, even for a grown man like him.

After some time, Jun Kai spoke up when he saw the figure retreating outside the window, "Fu Li, get some men to follow her. From now on, report her every movement to me." He finally made a decision to take precautions; he didn't want anything to happen to the rest of his family. They were the only people he had left from this cold world. He was still sceptical of Mi Rong's background and who she really was.

Fu Li received his order and silently left to carry it out immediately.

Xiao Bai was still sniffing in the air as he spoke, "Mi Rong, what was that all about?"

"He's just a bully that's what all this is about!" Mi Rong was angry and irritated that she had to keep her attack to herself. Only she knew how much she had wanted to punch that face of his.

Xiao Bai was still puzzled with that young man's treatment towards Mi Rong, "Have you exposed yourself to him?"

"Of course not but forget about that, a moment ago, there a needle had shot straight at me; however, the strangest thing is that you were not even able to track that person. What kind of master have we encountered? And did it have anything to do with us?"

Sigh. When Mi Rong said that last sentence, it had made Xiao Bai thought of someone.

That man's figure on the hospital rooftop when he and Mi Rong had left, he would always remember it and it would be buried deep inside him, never for Mi Rong to know.

Nevertheless, he wasn't worried about that person knowing so soon about this place from his spies as he would just have to hunt them down one by one like what he had been doing all these years. This time it seems, that person was becoming more and more restless as he has sent one of his best to inquire Mi Rong's location.

However, the only thing he was worried about was the man's ident.i.ty. Xiao Bai was still unsure of how the man's features were like now as the man would cover his face with a mask all the time. It was indeed very bothersome.

To become unnoticed of his thoughts, Xiao Bai walked closer to the wall and saw a thin straight needle above him. It was not the one for sewing or acupuncture, but the one for killing. Moreover, the needle seemed to have some drugs tainted on it. If Mi Rong had not moved in time, who knows what would have happened to her.

"Mi Rong, it looks like one of those sleeping drugs and some kind of poison were tainted with..." Xiao Bai began explaining the qualities of the drug which was the only truth he could tell Mi Rong.

As Mi Rong listened, it seemed quite complicated as it was a mixture of modern medicine and ancient medicine.

On the other hand, maybe the shot might have been directly shot towards Jun Kai instead. It was less likely but possible. He may have angered some of his rivals since he was so good at it, and she might have been overthinking that the needle was shot at her.

"Sigh, it might have been Jun Kai's rivals that want revenge. Who knows, but I'm leaving now. Everyone must be waiting. Let's go." Mi Rong did not want to think of it anymore. If someone was really looking for trouble from her, then she would be happy to attack back, humph!

Xiao Bai could only bitterly receive these sour shots to hide his real actions.

This girl has really grown up to be very cold indeed. If she had a daughter, he wondered who would be even colder!

Xiao Bai gave a humph and followed Mi Rong. He had felt a gaze from behind and did not want to make Jun Kai suspicious. After this, he would find an opportunity and leave to catch that annoying spy that couldn't leave them alone, sigh.
