Chapter 232: 232
A non stop pressing of the doorbell woke Mutsumi and Yukimura . It was already in the middle of the night, who would suddenly call for help during this time?

They run down stairs and what welcomed them was the tearful Layla being guided towards the sofa in the living room . Mutsumi instantly felt worried seeing this look in her .

"Go and bring some warm water," Yukimura commanded seeing this look as well .

They knew that the only time Layla would look like this is when it comes to Azusa in the past . And now surely it is also when it comes to Leo .

"What had happened, Layla?" Mutsumi asked after receiving the gla.s.s of warm water before helping Layla in drinking some .

Despite this, Layla's emotion was still in chaos so they could only wait for her to calm down . And seeing her state, they can tell that she had been crying for a long while now . She must have tried to cry it all out on her own but couldn't really cope up, that's when she decided to come to their place .

Another hour pa.s.sed of coaxing and comforting before she finally started calming down .

"What had happened for you to be in this state?" Mutsumi asked worriedly once more .

"I was still fine this morning, it was even a happy one," she smiled upon remembering how Mamoru and Azusa came .

She started narrating from that point of how the two got Leo's permission for them to continue dating and how, in a very rare occasion, Leo was as talkative as before .

"It was indeed a happy occasion . The does this mean that the reason for you to be like this happened after that?"

Tears started flowing once again as Layla nodded in response .

(Flashback)

"Layla . "

Layla was looking at the door happily after the two of them left when she heard Leo's voice . Upon looking back at him, his eyes told her that what he's about to say is something she didn't want to hear .

Trying to act normally, she smiled at him, "Hmm? Do you need something? Are you hungry? Or do you want some water?"

"No . I want you to leave me . "

She was taken a back before she gave a nervous chuckle, "Do you want to rest? Okay the, I'll go back home first and prepare more things . Go on and have a rest . "

She stood up as she started fixing the things she would be bringing home .

"No Layla . Azusa have already found someone she could be with . It's time for you to do it as well . Go and find your own happiness . You've done more than enough for me . "

She slowly looked back at him, terror visible in her eyes .

"Wh What are you talking about? What do you mean go find my happiness?"

Leo looked at her seriously and sighed exasperatedly . The way he looks makes Layla think that he was getting tired of this and that he's getting tired of explaining to her the obvious meaning behind his words .

"No . No . No . No . You can't let me do that . No . No . No . I'm not going anywhere . I'm staying with you," she continuously shakes her head as she replied to him . Tears were already at the edge of her eyes .

Leo grits his teeth upon seeing this, "Leave . You have no idea of what I have done all those times . I am but a monster . You all shouldn't have saved me for I am not someone worthy of being saved . "

She was about to still reject the idea .

"LEAVE!!"

His tone were no longer only serious but also angry . He was furious at how much she had been rejecting his words .

"I don't want to see you in this room again . Leave and never come back . "

After saying all of these, he angrily lay back down and covered himself with the blanket, turning his back on her .

Layla could only cover her mouth to stop her sobs from coming out before she run out of the room .

Without much thought she found herself in the burned house they once shared . It was the same place she had let him go . The same place, their memories were built .

And it seems that, just like their house that was burnt to the ground, even their memories started drifting away from her . She could only cry, for she knows how serious he was . But she has no idea how she could tell him that she will always be there no matter what mistakes he have done in the past .

By night time she could only slowly walk down the mountain . She had met some patrolling knights but despite hearing their inquiries she couldn't even look at them to answer them .

She knew she couldn't be alone . She didn't want to burden Azusa with this for now . So she could only walk towards Mutsumi's house, despite knowing that it was already in the middle of the knight .

(End of Flashback)

Mutsumi and Yukimura couldn't speak . They knew that Leo was still detached, they just didn't expect him to suddenly flare out after handing Azusa over to Mamoru .

Yukimura then remembered Raven's warning .

"I'm going over to him," he seriously said .

"No, please," Layla suddenly became fl.u.s.tered upon hearing this .

"Don't worry, I won't confront him . I'll just make sure that he wouldn't do anything stupid for the night . "

He then went up to get changed before bidding them goodbye . He went satright to the hosp[ital after riding a carriage .

He couldn't confront him right now . Leo must still be emotionally unstable, Yukimura could only take turn in watching over him .

Upon arriving to his room, he saw Leo standing by the window with a look of desolation and loneliness .

"You look like you wanted to drink some beer . Too bad, you have the most strict doctor, you really can't drink right now," he said with jolliness as he closed the door behind him .

"What are you doing here? It's the middle of the night," Leo looked at him and asked, he has a vague idea what might be the reason but he chose to act ignorant of it .

"Nothing much . I just came out of a duty and thought of visiting you . Who would have thought that I'd chance upon you, alone . Where's Layla? SHe barely left you this past few days," Yukimura replied in a nonchalant manner, making Leo wonder if Layla didn't speak with them .

But after a few moments, he saw Yukimura scratching his nose . Being his childhood friend, Leo knew that this action meant Yukimura was lying .

"You suck at lying," he seriously said as he walked back to his bed .

Yukimura, who was in the middle of scratching his nose, was stunned before he instantly drops his hand on his side . He smiled sheepishly knowing that he was already caught before taking a chair and sitting in front of Leo .

He took out a bottle from the plastic he was holding and handing it over to Leo . Leo was about to reprimand him, that he just said a while ago taht he was not allowed to drink, but he was the one giving him one right now . He only stopped upon seeing the contents of the bottle, he looked at Yukimura with furrowed brows without accepting the bottle .

"I'm not a child . "

Yukimura smiled as he urged Leo to accept the bottle, "We are no longer children, that is indeed true . But someone taught us how much milk helps you calm down and let you sleep in peace after a hard days work . "

Leo could only defeatedly accept the bottle and drink it . He didn't want to reject his friend's goodness . He truly missed this, the warmth his friends give him . Yukimura silently drank from his own bottle as he lean lazily at the back of the chair he was sitting on .

After silently finis.h.i.+ng their drinks, "Are you not going to ask?"

Yukimura who had busied himself with the beauty of the moon looked back at Leo, "Do I have to? We've known each other for so long, isn't that the reason why you knew of my habits? Then do you think I have forgotten just how much you blame yourself over the smallest things?"

Leo laughed defeatedly, "Then are you not going to reprimand me?"

Yukimura thought for a bit before replying with a solemn look, "I think what you'll face would be the reprimanding of someone else . I can only accompany you . "

Leo looked at him baffled . He started thinking of the people who might reprimand him, would it be Akihiro? No, that man would more or less just say a few things . Would it be the ladies? Mutsumi?

"*chuckles* I don't think it's one of those whom you are thinking . But still, don't deprive yourself from anything . What you have now, is not only your life . "

Leo looked at him baffled for Raven have said the same thing as well . But he couldn't ask for Yukimura seemed like he has no intention of explaining anything .
