Intro: After the last sky's rejection 1,
After the last sky's rejection and many days later including those days requested by Jaino for a rest,
Standing in the rocky slope indenting the pool of waterfall, Jaino consecutively swings the sword against at the falling water. He halts and glares at his hand. "It seems... I wonder... Somehow, the force becomes so heavy... greatly...
"A little bit practice and I can maneuver and gain more of this strength, else if mistake, I might die."
"You've even grown stronger?" has questioned by a man sitting in a stone, "Isn't that nice?"
"You have a point... However, my will is too fragile to grab such strength. One wrong use and I might kill myself. I don't have the will to practice if I know the result of my efforts. I hope someone, who is diligent, has acquired this instead of me. I'm too lazy to continue..." He gazes at the birds, in the air, are playfully chasing each other. Feeling the soothing air, he continues, "...I guess I'm ready to face your boss."
Across the land of Dandia, every member of the guild, that the third exceptional general had been managed, had mourned his death. Every member of the guild had waited the rise of the new leader. And by the time that each group and some individual received the news,
Standing in a slipped cliff, a teenage fange boy, Olyn Tehbasak watches at a far, the workers, who are carrying crates, are going in and out at the solitude warehouse. A female around his age, Niala Silviray, gives him a message, the news of their new official leader. He speaks, "Him, becomes a leader? ...Impossible...
"...let's finish this operation. I need to clear out my doubt."
Inside a grand hall where many paired-opposite-s.e.x n.o.bles dance in the melody played by orchestra, a butler goes near to a table and bows to a man wooing his dating partner. After receiving a message, that man's rage has stolen the attention of most people around nearby. Her dating partner smiles. She speaks, "Just accept your lose. It's clear that you are dumber and can't beat him in the lead."
"That's a no! No! I've more diplomas, awards and accomplishments than him. I'll settle this once and for all."
"Knowing you'll lose again?"
"Ugh... Those are harsh words coming from you my darling."
"Idiot, and don't call me darling. There's nothing between us but a group mates."
"Ugh... Please, don't break my heart..."
Unb.u.t.toning his wife blazer while smelling slowly her aroma, then his mouth touches her neck. As his hand gropes her breast, a sudden knocking of the door disturbs their honeymoon. They hear a man voice,
"Sir, we have an important message for you."
"Ugh! Good grief! Speak!" has replied by Salvan Untalban.
"Sir, a messenger is here to speak for you. It's about the new guild leader."
"Just tell me and tell that messenger to never COMEBACK here again! Or I'll kill him myself!"
"Right! Sir! The name is Jaino Diarke, known as Jaino Lightning!"
"Come again?"
"The, The name is Jaino Diarke sir, and his, he is known as Jaino Lightning."
"Prepare me a room and tell that messenger to wait there, now go."
"Yes sir!"
And to his wife he speaks, "I'm sorry my dear, it seems this is orient."
"I don't mind. They say, there is always another day."
"Thank you." He then kisses her lips as her wife does. "I'll be right back."
Some of the guild members have opinions yet haven't bothered to oppose the authorities' decision.
To a s.p.a.cious room, going in, Maakin Ba.n.a.l smiles at the pleased Hoven Mig, who speaks, still in his strong voice,
"Long time no see. And my condolence."
"Thank you." He sits at the opposite seat and asks, "So, what's brought you here my friend."
"Alright, I'll be right at the point. My friend, how's Jaino's performance in your academy? I heard he's a master of swords' basic."
"Hasn't seen him fight?"
"I heard rumors only."
"Well, neither me nor one person in the campus either. We, haven't see him teach in the campus physically, however; I heard he left only instructions to his student. "
"Student?"
"Right, most of his students had transferred to another course and mastery. Only one is left."
"Isn't that against to rules and your campus reputation?"
"Well it was my father decision and I had no obligation that time. And there are barely number of swords' basic masters that I know. You and him. Well, my father is dead. So, it's you and Jaino now."
"Won't you kick him out?"
"I have the feeling that you want me to kick him out. I'm sorry. His student's victory hailed the name of our campus in recent tournament, in rainbow tribe's arena. That draws attention to people wanting to learn sword play. I can't just throw out the privilege. Mind if I know why you're digging and investigating his records?"
"Look, I've been doing all the efforts just to succeed the third. You know me when dealing jobs, I give everything that I can, professionally. How comes he becomes the third general instead."
"Who?"
"It's Jaino, friend."
"That's nonsense."
"It's official and I'll gonna prepare myself for a protest."
"You are dealing with the kingdom's council, am I right?"
"I'm a son of the second exceptional general! I can't just back down."
—End of Intro.
After the last sky's rejection 2
Into the wide cave chamber, lighted by torches hanged in the land wall and occupied by well-groomed people talking to each other, sitting in their chairs, surrounding the wide empty center of the place, in the middle Jaino steps and thinks skeptically, Am I surrounded by dead people? I can't feel their emotions. In the central arc of the circle, opposite to where he's standing, he sees a man attired of common clothes.
The man greets, "It's nice to meet you, son of Zahamara. And welcome to my humble throne, or should I see, nest."
"Are you a bandit?"
"Insolence!" has yelled by one of the men, sitting among the well-groomed people. "How could you speak that to our prince!" Noticing the man, he's called prince, rises a hand, he silence.
"You, a prince?" has asked by Jaino, and he intently stares at the man in question. He hears someone's voice, from a different man who answers his question,
"The man before you is our prince, the first prince of Jelfyr. And he is the man, the founder of your guild. You should mind your words lad."
"Enough with the formalities," has spoken by the man, they have declared the first prince. "I'm Evan Rosarok. Nice to meet you Jaino Lightning. And the reason of your presence here is about the seat of the third exceptional general. It's sadden me that we lose an outstanding leader."
Enduring the freezing guilty feelings inside his chests, Jaino speaks with his mouth cold, "Forgive me about that. It was me who proposed the plan. And it was me who used him and attempted to end the sky's rejection— that no one could put it to stop. Or should I say, that the council don't bother about."
A sudden chattering and rage from the people around burst out. And one of them has stood and silenced the noise, "Mind your words lad! You speak in front of the council. One last chance and we can't tolerate your indignity."
"I'm prepared to embrace death. All of us will meet the same fate." And to the first prince, he speaks, "If you want to sentence me, be it. Death if you want.
"However, if I'll still be alive then, heed my warning, you'll suffer misfortune."
"Barbarian!" has yelled by one of the council. "My highness, I told you to reconsider your decision. If only you heeded my opinion. Look at his att.i.tude. This isn't met for a leader"
Another person speaks, "Now, if we constantly interrupt their conversation, this meeting won't move on."
"Fine! Let's just hope we're in the right course."
And to Jaino, the first prince speaks, "We are here not for the execution but to acknowledge your exploit. Here I read, what is carved in a stone." To his side, a sudden wind revolves and turn into a stone. "It was abrupt, but when I met you, you did grab my full attention and I didn't expect you heeded my lies. Later then, you revealed yourself as a survivor in the cruelty of our foolish experiment but necessary for our existence. I won't apologize for we need to survive. And for you to sacrifice many people to call my colleague in the crime you labeled as sky's rejection, your sin is the same as us. Thank you that our activity had put to a halt. However, by the time the calamities and the other high races, them, turn insane, I'll seek for the champion of the land myself. Until then, hone your skills. Ka'el Em'tis—"
Hearing the spoken name, Jaino gulps. I can't remember such a thing. Impossible. There's no way we could beat that thing. It was more than a monster. It was a G.o.d.
"—This stone is existed near to where we found you lying. It's clear your operation succeeded...
"...It seems you have no words to response? Okay, let's move on. I want you to atone your sins. I might appreciate your success but the cost, it was just impossible. It costed the lives of our people—"
Jaino gulps.
"From the day onward, you're to work as the third exceptional general."
"I... object," has replied by Jaino. "I know I not qualified in the job. I prefer being exiled."
"It was already decided. The council had already given their supports. We can't let you off the hook."
A sudden tremor in the area begins to erupt, Jaino speaks, "If you don't stop this madness, I shall bury them alive."
A man from the council speaks, "You choose violence. Tch, and how do you intend to bury us alive? You should be grateful you're working as a highest official instead."
"Hear me, I don't want my peaceful life to be dragged away."
"Even if Kilie wants your protection?" has asked by the prince.
How did he known Kilie? "Harm her and I shall destroy the kingdom myself. I'm warning you, don't make me an enemy."
"You'll destroy the kingdom that your father protected?"
"What do you know about me?"
Another man in the council speaks again as the place halts from trembling, "We protected your ident.i.ty, but that doesn't mean, our royalties are not authorized to know. And of course, he knows you. Son of Viegro Diarke, Jaino Diarke."
At the current time, at the battle in the cemetery, as Hoven is going to swing his sword, Jaino thoughts, Spirit of dark, let me go deeper with you.
Naturally, your mind and body know your limit, has replied by her spirit of dark. Go on my master. Go, go, go!
Don't cheer on me. But, I'll enjoy the emptiness for a while. I know now why I'm afraid of Criselia. Not just her, but those that I'm afraid to face. It's funny. But it's reality.
On Hoven's vision, darkness surrounds to his surrounding and the wavering images, moving in slow motion, confuse his reasoning. He thinks, What is happening? He hears Jaino speaks echoing,
"My swing conquers my surrounding and has no rivalry." His words shake Hoven's body.
While parrying Jaino's attacks, Hoven thinks, What is this feeling? Somehow, I feel wide open. So cold, it's hard to move.
"My move appears before the eye." Jaino stabs his sword to the ground while his body concretes his balance. His eyes grow weary. His ears listen to the deafening silence.
Hoven gulps. Sweets flow on his skin. Intently, he listens.
"This is your weakness." Jaino runs forward. Noticing Hoven is going to parry— Right. If we manage to evade, it strengthens our parrying, countering, and landing first strike to our limit, but weakens our evasiveness. Same goes to our other defensive skills. Then how about, give those defensive skills a heavy lifting. —Jaino tightens his stance while his feet buried in the land. Applying a heavy force in his sword, he swings his attack. Feeling relief, he smiles while he sees Hoven's sword, without a hilt, is rolling in the ground. He speaks, "I hope this puts end to our conflict. Let us be at peace."
As Hoven feels deluged by helplessly, he kneels and cries. He shakes as he speaks, "Overpowered, huh... s.h.i.+t... I lose... This is shameful... Why did you have to lie!" Not able to receive an answer, he says, "You should have shown me you are eligibility as the third. ...Answer me!" His scream echoes into the place. Everything that I did. All the sacrifice that I made... were just vain... "I should just have die! Kill me! Jaino!"
Feeling Hoven's pain, Jaino gazes to the emptiness. Idiot, not everything can be measured by bold strength. This also includes jurisdiction. Dreams. And many more. His silence continues.
Noticing the darkness becomes to fade, Hoven sees people surrounding the area. He recognizes one person who speaks,
"Foolish son. My son, raise once again. Your fight to achieve your dream is not lost. However, you should bear responsibility to your mistakes. You can still do things right."
"Father... you will forgive me after witnessing this shameful son of yours?" has asked by Hoven.
"I know everything that you had done. I will forgive you after you'll manage to bear responsibilities to your mistakes and do things right. After all, you are my son."
"Father..."
And to Jaino, Tiz Mig speaks, "Thank you very much for not taking the life of my son. I too shall reflect to my mistakes."
Jaino smiles. "You save him also," has replied by Jaino. From losing hope, like that happened to my wife. As he begins to fall, the man, who is a crow, grabs his hand and helps him to stand.
After the last sky's rejection 3
A night comes, Jaino and Misisa meet in the Shau Clan Mansion's balcony. Both persons silence despite the incoming day of their marriage. "Why do the G.o.ds so cruel?" has finally asked by Misisa. "They should create men and women evenly."
"If that would happen, other emotions will never exist," has replied by Jaino. "Like love, hatred, probably you won't dream to surpa.s.s someone... The emotion might induce solitary... And we will never bare children."
"Children... dream... huh." Misisa hugs Jaino. "Jaino, let's stop the marriage. I still have to go deeper into the mystery cavern. Can I?"
Jaino looks at in her eyes. He smiles. "You're quite a beauty. Anyway, I don't mind. If that's what you wish. Then be it."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
She moves backward and chuckles. She punches Jaino's thorax. She speaks, "Idiot, I'm just kidding." While drops of tears jump down from her eyes, along by her smile in disguise.
Jaino feels her sadness.
And so, the frightening event happens after the completion of their marriage, people begin celebrating for the newly wed and the bond between the Lightning Clan and Shau Clan. Still in white dress, Misisa's body slams in the ground. The shock stuns everyone. Niavera cries aloud her daughter's name. And Purunga orders some people to calm the panic. And Jaino kneels. s.h.i.+t... This is my fault... Why haven't I realized this? s.h.i.+t. He cries. She's a dralk…
