"Xiao Tian! Are you in there?"
The door to his room opened just as Xiao Tian slowly opened his eyes to a familiar voice calling for him.
"Good lord! What are you doing?! How can you still be sleeping now?! Did mother not tell you that the Song Clan will be coming over today?" A cute young girl that was slightly taller than Xiao Tian entered the room while exclaiming with a loud voice.
This young girl was his elder sister by one year, Xiao Min.
Xiao Tian turned to look at the window upon hearing Xiao Min's words and sure enough, it was way past early morning.
Although he didn't plan on sleeping this late, there was nothing he could do as last night's cultivation session had really exhausted his energy.
"The Song Clan had already arrived and both mother and father seemed very upset that you were the only one that didn't show up to welcome them! Especially father! He was fuming, you know! If he weren't busy with the Song Clan, he would've been the one here right now instead of me!" Xiao Min continued to speak with a loud voice to wake him up.
Xiao Tian slowly got out of the bed and stretched with an indifferent expression, almost like he couldn't care any less about the situation.
Meanwhile, Xiao Min was searching through his drawers for his clothes.
"Here, wear this and quickly go wash your face!" Xiao Min tossed his clothes on the bed and began taking off Xiao Tian's clothes, acting as though she was his servant or something.
"Calm down, Xiao Min. I am already late. And I can change my own clothes," he said to her.
"Calm down?! The entire family will have to listen to father scolding you later! And you know how much I hate that!"
Although Xiao Min sounded like she was angry at Xiao Tian, she was just concerned for him as an elder sister. After all, being the second youngest in the household, she felt the need to care for him, who was the youngest.
And her being the only sibling to have appeared before Xiao Tian showed just how much she cared. Meanwhile, the other three siblings were trying to impress the children from the Song Clan, completely ignoring Xiao Tian's absence.
After Xiao Tian changed into the clean robes, Xiao Min pulled him towards the bathroom to get his face washed.
By the time Xiao Tian was ready and fully awake, over fifteen minutes had pa.s.sed.
And while they walked to where the rest of the family are currently, Xiao Min explained to Xiao Tian the situation.
"The Song Clan bought four children with them, one male and three females. Their eldest child is Song Jing, the only male child, who is 23 years old. Next in line is Song Jingyi, 21 years old. Then Song Ning, 18 years old. And finally, their youngest child, Song Yu, who is only two years older than you, 13 years old."
Xiao Tian barely paid attention to their names, but one thing was for sure — it was almost as if the Song Clan was made for the Xiao Clan, where there are three male children and two female.

"Right now, Mother is trying to pair Elder Sister with their oldest and Eldest Brother with Song Jingyi, because their ages are relatively similar. What about you, Xiao Tian? Will you be going for Song Yu? Although she is older than you, it's only a difference of two years. If you don't go after her, Elder Brother Xiao Chen will take her."
"Has anybody ever told you that you speak too much?" Xiao Tian shook his head.
"Hmph! Only you dare to speak to me like that in this entire family!" Xiao Min puffed her cheeks while acting angry.
Amongst the five children in the Xiao Clan, Xiao Min turned out to be the most talented, as she managed to summon a high-grade Spirit at her first try, whilst her siblings managed to summon only medium-grade Spirits.
There are six known ranks of Spirits in the Human Realm: Low-grade, Medium-grade, High-grade, Elite-grade, Heaven-grade, and finally, Holy-grade.
However, as the Emperor of Spirits, Xiao Tian knew that there exists Spirits even stronger than Holy Spirits.
As for his own red-headed Spirit, Xiao Tian was unsure of her grade, as she never told him, and there was no such thing as Summoned Spirits when he was still alive. But judging from the way she spoke and her arrogant att.i.tude like she's above all, she might be a fairly high-grade Spirit.
"By the way, I heard that you failed your first Spirit Summoning. Are you upset?" Xiao Min suddenly asked him.
"Not really." Xiao Tian casually answered.
"So you are upset," she said. "Don't worry about it too much, since you are still too young. Give it another year or two and you'll surely succeed."
Xiao Tian shook his head inwardly and remained silent, hoping for Xiao Min to be quiet at least until they catch up to the family.
"Haaa… Dealing with humans is a pain in the a.s.s…" Xiao Tian sighed inwardly. He found it much easier and peaceful to be around Spirits, mostly because they don't talk as much as humans.
Sometime later, Xiao Tian and Xiao Min arrived at the center of the Xiao Clan's mansion, where a large group of individuals was gathered.
There were elders from the Xiao Clan, servants serving food and drinks to the tables, and of course, the Song Clan that was sitting at a large table alongside the main members of the Xiao Clan.
The atmosphere was filled with liveliness and excitement and smiles could be seen on everyone's faces.
However, the place became quiet when they noticed Xiao Tian and Xiao Min's entrance.
"Xiao Tian!" Xiao Long, his father, stood up from his seat and loudly yelled Xiao Tian's name upon seeing his face. "Where have you been all this time?! You better have a good explanation for being this late!"
Everybody turned to look at Xiao Tian at this moment, even the Song Clan, who seemed to find this situation quite amusing, to say the least.
Xiao Min seemed to have something to say but was a bit slower than Xiao Tian.
"I just woke up." Xiao Tian spoke with a calm voice, sounding not even a little bit concerned for his late arrival.
"..."
Hearing Xiao Tian's simple explanation and indifferent tone, Xiao Long's face turned red in anger, feeling embarra.s.sed by his son's behavior before the Song Clan.
However, the Song Clan, in contrary, actually started laughing at Xiao Tian's nonchalant behavior.
"What a frank child! I like him already!" Song Wei, the head of the Song Clan, burst out laughing.
The mature lady beside him also chuckled, finding Xiao Tian's behavior innocent and cute.
Xiao Long's anger disappeared when he saw the Song Clan's positive reaction, and he said to Xiao Tian, "Come here and introduce yourself!"
Xiao Tian nodded and approached the table with slow and precise steps, his expression calm. However, his eyes emitted a sharp presence as they stared directly at the Song Clan.
When Song Wei saw Xiao Tian's expression, he stopped laughing, and his brows lifted with surprise.
Although it was not apparent, Song Wei could sense a profound and mysterious air around Xiao Tian, making his small figure seem larger than reality, almost like he was before the presence of royalty.
"What an interesting lad..." Song Wei mumbled to himself, his interest in Xiao Long piqued.
