Acolytes were apprentices in the Ivory Tower, a monumental building which had been constructed in the middle of the Kerrosby oasis. Completing mission selected by the tower managers, the acolytes had the opportunity to earn magical crystals, resources and items as rewards. However, acolytes were even more interested in acquiring knowledge points, a unique form of currency created by the Great Adept Rayleigh, the tower's one and only adept, a man whose strength far surpa.s.sed any acolytes or creature in the area, he surpa.s.sed common sense, as legends told he had already lived for more than two hundred years. Knowledge points could be spent to borrow books from the library, a crucial step if one wanted to learn how to cast spells, to familiarize with mana and increase one's spirit.
Among the 358 apprentices within the tower, there was one boy who stood out from the rest. Physically, he was skinny, and he possessed an average face and his short dark hair. He barely talked, which didn't help him in earning the favour of fellow acolytes. Yet, this boy had a pair of eyes which seemed to pierce through your soul, green pupils flickering with wisdom and determination, with a glare which could unfold killing intent at any moment. Looking in the mirror, one could see a reflection in which he was grinning in a terrifying manner.
He was called Drodosis Thornfield, and he turned 13-years old five months ago. His body was not the same as his original one, it was a vessel he possessed upon reincarnation. 13 years pa.s.sed already, and the frequent headaches which seemed to hurt his soul suddenly stopped. Without pain, he meditated, and after two long hours, his soul had expanded, and his spirit grew stronger. He had broken through the beginner acolyte realm. He was now a true apprentice in this tower.
