In an instant, w.a.n.g Yuvin felt disappointed. How come that Zhang Chenric knew of the secret pa.s.sage while he knew nothing of its existence.

"Why didn't you tell me about that, sis? We should have renovated that hidden path before we transferred!" A momentarily flare of envy flashed in w.a.n.g Yuvin's face.

"So, you want us to have an argument in front of my daughter?" w.a.n.g Reiji said as she put her arms across her chest.

"Ai and Bai, take Europa upstairs and stay inside my room." w.a.n.g Yuvin ordered the twins.

"Sweetie, me and uncle have to discuss something important. Please go to sleep now, okay?" w.a.n.g Reiji then turned her attention to Europa.

"Okay, mama!"

As soon as the twins and Europa had ascended, w.a.n.g Reiji took w.a.n.g Yuvin to the underground pa.s.sage and started telling him something about the villa.

"This villa is the wedding gift of my grandfather to my parents." w.a.n.g Reiji's eyes roamed around the place feeling a strong sense of nostalgia.

"That time, father was already the CEO of Xing Airlines and his life was in constant danger." w.a.n.g Reiji then halted on her tracks when she realized that the emergency lights were still working perfectly.

"What's wrong, sis?" w.a.n.g Yuvin suddenly felt worried when he saw her shocked face.

"T-the emergency lights... How come they are still working fine?" Confused, she paused for a while to collect her thoughts.

"Some nice brands of emergency lights last for 5 years, sis."

"I know. But that can only be possible if the lights are well maintained." w.a.n.g Reiji said as a nagging doubt suddenly entered her mind.

She then started look for her phone but she realized that she left it in her purse. She then excused herself to get her phone inside the mansion.

"Bro, I will just head back inside to get my phone. I need to contact Rentao to ask about the previous owner's ident.i.ty." w.a.n.g Reiji then swiftly turned her back away from her brother and started walking toward the exit.

"Wait, sis! Your phone is here." w.a.n.g Yuvin then took the phone out to hand it over to her.

"..." w.a.n.g Reiji was instantly dumbfounded when she saw her phone in w.a.n.g Yuvin's hand.

"Prosecutor Zhang was here earlier. He returned your phone. Tsk! What a cunning man." w.a.n.g Yuvin felt disgusted when he thought of the prosecutor's pretense.

"So I dropped my phone that time." w.a.n.g Reiji then took her phone from her brother's hand as she tried no to think about what happened in Royal Regent.

"You went in his house again??" w.a.n.g Yuvin asked with face full of curiosity and annoyance.

"Nah. We b.u.mped into each other in the hallway of the Royal Regent Condo. But let's talk about that some other time. I need to know who the previous owner first." w.a.n.g Reiji said as she marched toward the exit of the underground pa.s.sageway, leaving w.a.n.g Yuvin who started wandering inside the secret path.

Zhang Chenric curled his fingers around his phone as a hint of excitement flashed in his eyes when he received his a.s.sistant's good news. The guy was able to get a hair sample however, there's a 50% chance that the hair was not the little girl's. Still, this setback didn't affect his mood even a bit. He then walked toward the balcony of his condo and lit up a cigarette stick. As soon as he started puffing his cigarette, his subconscious mind then envisioned the past.

Zhang Chenric had just arrived at the university. His father had told him to still need to undergo the interview even though the slot was already reserved to him.

"What a waste of time. Why do I need to attend the interview when we already finished signing the contract." He told himself as he lazily walked toward the office entrance.

'WHACK!'

As soon as he set foot inside the office, a speeding bag had landed perfectly on his face.
The bag owner immediately came to his side to apologize.

"Sorry, I threw my bag out of frustration. Are you okay?" Guilt struck w.a.n.g Reiji's heart as she saw her victim's reddened forehead. She was about to touch the guy's head but the guy grabbed her hand, stopping her action.

"What are you doing? Touching me all of a sudden! Did you even ask for permission? Or do you think your trick can earn you my attention? Zhang Chenric spoke in a cold tone, thinking that the seductive looking female in front of him was one of those girls who desperately want his attention.

w.a.n.g Reiji's eyes almost fell out of their sockets as her mouth hung open in disbelief. She was just showing concern yet her sincerity was mistaken as flirting?

'What a conceited guy!' She silently thought to herself.

"M-Mr Zhang Chenric? Are you okay?" A staff quickly approached him to offer a.s.sistance.

A chuckle escaped w.a.n.g Reiji's lips, "So, you are Zhang Chenric?" The guilty feeling she had earlier instantly vanished. She then removed her eyegla.s.ses and stared straight to the guy's eyes.

"Listen, Mr. conceited. Whatever filthy thoughts you have inside that thick skull of yours are all wrong. I have a boyfriend who is a lot better than you in all aspects. Most importantly, his success was self made. He didn't make use of his parent's influence just to get what his achievements! Unlike some guy here who's utterly shameless and even used his father's connections to secure a slot in a certain university program." w.a.n.g Reiji then smirked as she picked her bag up from the floor and intentionally hit Zhang Chenric with it.

"Move! You are blocking my way!" w.a.n.g Reiji yelled at him before turned her head and called out to her friend.

"Let's go Mei! The air here suddenly became polluted!"

Soon after the two friends had disappeared from the area, Zhang Chenric spoke to the a.s.sistant who approached him earlier.

"Please reschedule my interview. I have some things to discuss with my father."

'Buzz!'

The vibration of his phone pulled Zhang Chenric's consciousness back to the present. He then tossed the cigarette b.u.t.t into the trash can before he took a quick look at his phone. The message was from his a.s.sistant, informing him that he found a laboratory that will run the DNA test tonight and the result will be ready the next day.
