"I want to speak with the CEO! I will not leave until I spoke to Oriental Europa's CEO! Bring me to him this instant! Don't you know who I am?"
Lady Tong was already fuming hard as her anger churned within her system when the security personnel told her that she needed to set an appointment first before she can be accommodated. Also, no one inside the Paragon Tower had an idea about a gown delivery since the gowns were personally brought home by w.a.n.g Reiji.
"My team delivered the gowns here! Where are they? Where are the gowns?" Lady Tong yelled at the people in the lobby.
Little did she know that at the last minute, w.a.n.g Reiji requested that she'll take the gowns home and there was no need to deliver them.
"I apologize for any inconvenience ma'am. But we are just strictly following protocols. But don't worry, ma'am. The CEO's a.s.sistant, Mr. Rentao is on his way. Let's wait for him inside the lounge." A member of the security team politely talked to Lady Tong.
"What do you people take me for? I asked for the CEO. I don't care who the h.e.l.l that Rentao person is! He can't help me!"
The frustration of wanting to speak with the CEO heightened the old woman's bad mood. Fortunately, before her anger reached its peak, Rentao had already arrived.
"Good evening, ma'am. I am Rentao, the executive a.s.sistant of CEO w.a.n.g of w.a.n.g Hotels and Casino. What can I help you with?" Rentao extended a hand to offer a handshake as he finished introducing himself to Lady Tong.
The irate Lady Tong just stared at Rentao's palm before completely ignoring the man's courteousness.
"Believe me, you can't do anything for me! I need the CEO, not his a.s.sistant!" Lady Tong scowled at Rentao.
"I don't want to sound rude ma'am. But you have to get through me first before you can speak with the CEO." Rentao answered, looking dignified in his red checkered long sleeves inside his black suit.
"Huh? Do you even know who you're talking to? Do you even know who I am?" Lady Tong reacted more than she responded.
"Yes, I know who you are. You are the infamous Lady Tong. Oriental Europa's marketing team chose you to be the couturier of the gowns to be used for the hotel's video advertis.e.m.e.nt. Now, I wonder why the CEO needs to bother with you when in fact, it was the marketing head who had reached out to you and your team?" Rentao spoke as he tightly clung on to the last thread of his patience.
"You! How dare you tell me that I am not worthy to meet with the CEO!"
"Please stop putting words into my mouth, Lady Tong. I will repeat my question. What can I help you with?" Rentao's voice was firm and had an air of finality to it.
"This is not going anywhere! If you don't want to take me to your CEO, just return my gowns that were delivered this afternoon!" Lady Tong was still railing against Rentao.
"Gowns?" Rentao had a dumbfounded look on his face as he stared at the old woman.
"Mr. Rentao, she's insisting that two gowns were delivered here this afternoon. She also said that the actress for the video shoot dropped by her boutique earlier to fit the gowns." Security personnel stepped in and mumbled details to Rentao.
"Did you guys check the logbook?" Rentao asked as he glanced at the personnel.
"Yes, we already checked the logbook and questioned all the guards on duty. Records show that nothing arrived today. We also looked into the CCTV monitors, but there's really nothing."
"Lies! My a.s.sistant told me that the gowns were already delivered! So why are you telling me that nothing arrived?" Lady Tong's shrilled voice echoed inside the lobby.
"Tsk. Lady Tong, how sure are you that your delivery team did not run away with the gowns? As far as I know, the materials you use for your gowns are on top of the line." Rentao fired back at the woman.
Before Lady Tong can give her retort, her a.s.sistant arrived and was sprinting toward them.
"Lady Tong, my apologies. You were given wrong information. The gowns weren't delivered here, they were taken by the madame instead." a.s.sistant Yu was still catching her breath as she explained details to Lady Tong.
