When they first met each other, Liu Lingli seemed to be a meek girl and very modest. Or at least that was how she behaved during her first few months of being an intern at the prosecutor's office.
No one had a doubt that underneath that nice girl facade lies a vile persona capable of bringing destruction and despair to her unwary targets.
Embarra.s.sing as it may seem, w.a.n.g Reiji was one of these unwary targets. She was too focused on her love for Zhang Chenric back then that she failed to heed the signs that someone was already plotting her demise. Admit it or not, her downfall five years ago happened because she allowed it to. But of course, that will not happen again. She had learned her lesson, the hard way though.
"Thank you for admiring my work. But I am afraid that you still have to wait for your turn. After this client I am currently attending to, there's still another one." Miss Teri explained her schedule with much professionalism and politeness. Also, thanks to her voice, w.a.n.g Reiji remembered the masquerade ball and was now thinking straight and had a clearer mind.
'Yeah, right. First things first. I can not kill Liu Lingli now. It's not yet the right time for that, I must wait for my turn! I need to stick to the plan. So for now, I will not do anything to you, Liu Lingli. May you enjoy the remaining days of your freedom!' w.a.n.g Reiji told herself as she now calmed down after successfully weighing down the pros and cons of a.s.saulting Liu Lingli out in the open.
"I do understand that you have been away for quite some time, Miss Teri. That's probably why you don't know who I am. But don't worry, you are already forgiven. Gianna, come over here and tell Miss Teri the name of the person she just ordered to wait." With much pride and arrogance, Liu Lingli wanted Gianna to introduce her to Miss Teri rather than politely introduce herself instead.
'Oh, she brought Gianna with her. Well done, Gianna! Thank you for working hard to gain that white lotus' trust!' w.a.n.g Reiji mumbled to herself as she now prepared to step out of the fitting room to face Liu Lingli, not as herself but as the aspiring celebrity she had been pretending to be. However, she wanted to hear what Gianna has to say first before getting out of the room.
"With much pleasure Lady Z. Miss Teri, I would like you to meet Huang Xur. The niece and only living relative of CEO Huang." Gianna said as she stood between Liu Lingli and Miss Teri.
"Did you just say CEO Huang? Lady Z here is the niece of CEO Huang of Huang Protection Agency?" Miss Teri asked, wanting to make sure that what her ears heard was correct.
"Yes, Miss Teri. Also, there is something that I would like to ask you. When was the last time you had your schedule checked? I was wondering why did you tell Lady Z to wait when she had an appointment with you." Gianna with her towering height on top of her high heels seemed to intimidate Miss Teri.
"Really? My a.s.sistants must have overlooked. Anyway, can you just please wait outside? I don't care even if you are the daughter or wife of the president, the general secretary, or the military chairman. As long as you are inside my boutique, you have to obey my rules." Miss Teri remained true to her principles and did not give into Liu Lingli's pressure.
"How bold!" Gianna uttered as she threw a piercing gaze at Miss Teri.
"That's enough Gianna." Liu Lingli abruptly interrupted Gianna.
"I really like you, Miss Teri! You are so fearless. But beware, fearless people who do not submit themselves to a greater authority than them often end up in misery. We wouldn't want that to happen on you now, would we?" Liu Lingli said as she stared straight into Miss Teri's eyes as if sending some fear and reality unto her.
"Why would one end up in misery if the authority you refer to is just of local influence? And you said it yourself, I have been away for quite some time. Did you think I wasted my time just designing gowns and conducting exhibits? How simple minded the heiress of Huang Protection Agency is! Piece of unsolicited advice, Miss Huang. Don't belittle other people just because you think you have power and influence over your territory. Because once you step out of your turf, the power and influence you proudly speak of is nothing compared to the wielders of global power." Miss Teri was not able to contain her emotions especially in front of a self-ent.i.tled brat. Inside her boutique, the only person who was allowed to display arrogance was only her and her alone!
