It was quarter to four in the afternoon when w.a.n.g Yuvin arrived at the Golden Scale Enterprise.

As soon as he entered its premises, nothing usual happened. He was able to get through the elevator without arousing other people's attention.

When he stepped inside the elevator, three female employees went in as well.

Because of their close proximity, w.a.n.g Yuvin was able to smell the strong acrid scent of cigarette coming from the employees. It seemed like they just finished their cigarette break.

The moment the elevator ascended, they started talking about the incident earlier.

"Geez! Whoever that person was, he should have not helped that vixen get away from the attacker. Such a meddlesome person." Said the middle-aged employee wearing a thick layer of make-up.

"I know, right! That person spoiled the fun! I was really hoping to see that wretch cry and beg for her life! It could have been a great meme, hahaha." Said the employee with a pointy chin and thick gla.s.ses.

"h.e.l.l yeah, I totally agree with you! Her horrified face could have been a great meme." Said the tall employee as she joined the other two in laughing their heads off like they were the only ones inside the lift and w.a.n.g Yuvin was non-existent.

As the elevator halted in the 10th floor, the employees held off their laughter and stepped outside like nothing happened.

He sighed deeply as he felt pity for the girl they spoke ill of. She could have lost her life if he didn't help her. Yet, these people treated the matter as a joke and even bashed him for saving her.

What's wrong with them? How come they looked at a hostage taking situation like it was some kind of entertainment? When did watching a person in danger became a form of amus.e.m.e.nt?

w.a.n.g Yuvin gave out a bitter laugh, like he was a fine one to talk. His hands were not clean either. He did awful things in the past that he can never justify. He was an a.s.sa.s.sin, right? Taking lives was one of his expertise and even though his targets were all notorious criminals, they still have families who deeply mourned at their death. However, he can't just let them loose, for many families had already suffered because of them.

'Ding!'

Finally, the elevator had reached its destination and w.a.n.g Yuvin had stopped thinking about the matters of the past. He then started walking toward the chairman's office. He was preparing himself to knock when the door of the office suddenly open.

"Good afternoon, Sir. What business do you have with the chairman?" The secretary said as he gently closed the door behind him.

"Good afternoon. I'm from Oriental Europa." w.a.n.g Yuvin said casually.

"Oh, you're Mr. w.a.n.g Yuvin. Go ahead, sir. Chairman Kiang is inside." The secretary said as he opened the door and gestured for w.a.n.g Yuvin to come in.

"Thank you."

Chairman Kiang's office was huge and it occupied the corner part of the building. Its floor to ceiling windows, which were curtained in lined silk drapes, offered a breathtaking view of the city skyline. Its office walls were painted with oval room blue that perfectly matched the large scale portrait of a beautiful young maiden with a bewitching smile.

He paused for a while and scanned the portrait. Why does she look familiar?

"Do you like what you see?" asked by a low voice.

w.a.n.g Yuvin immediately took his eyes off the portrait and turned his gaze to the source of the voice.

It came from an old man with a grey hair and a face with deep wrinkles which seemed maps of his life's journey.

The old man was sitting on a swivel chair behind an executive desk made of carved wood with an elegant style and a gla.s.s surface.

Actually, he didn't notice the old man right away because of a MacBook pro and high stacks of papers that sat on his table.

"Good afternoon, Chairman Kiang. Sorry for staring at the portrait. It's just that the woman looked familiar."

"Hmmm you have probably seen her in the recent news. She's my granddaughter and I almost lost her this morning." The old man said as profound sadness carved on his worn face.

So, the woman in the portrait was the lady he saved earlier and it turned out that she's also the chairman's granddaughter.

w.a.n.g Yuvin instantly felt bad for the chairman when he recalled how those female employees laughed at his granddaughter's horrible experience.

"It must have been a traumatic experience on her part. Is she alright now?" He asked with curiosity.

"She's at home now, taking a rest. I'll probably call a psychologist to counsel her. Anyway, you are?" Chairman Kiang asked.

"Oh, please forgive my rudeness, Chairman Kiang. I'm w.a.n.g Yuvin from Oriental Europa. I'm here to give you these doc.u.ments." w.a.n.g Yuvin said politely.

Chairman Kiang furrowed his brows creating more folds on his already wrinkled face. He was somehow disappointed with this guy's lack of taste and fas.h.i.+on sense. Actually, he was expecting to meet a more das.h.i.+ng young man, the type that magazines feature on their cover page. Anyway, it seems like the guy was wearing high end clothing and a pair of expensive shoes, his from a well off family indeed.

The moment w.a.n.g Yuvin felt the chairman's piercing gaze, he immediately sensed that he was probably bothered by his current appearance. Today, he really looked like Harold Wormser¹ minus the buck teeth.

But before he can open his mouth to explain himself the chairman spoke.

"Are you fond of high end shoes?" The chairman asked.

w.a.n.g Yuvin stared at the chairman with a puzzled look.

"Do you know of a luxury shoe brand which is known for its crocodile pattern trademark?"He added.

The moment Chairman Kiang mentioned the words crocodile pattern, w.a.n.g Yuvin instantly understood his point.

The chairman was looking for the person who helpled his granddaughter!

Chairman Kiang was looking for him!
