'Who's this nerd?'

The chief investigator paused for a while to examine the face of the guy standing before him.

There was something nostalgic behind his visitor's eyes that made the creases on his face grew deeper.

"Let me help you remember." w.a.n.g Yuvin said as he took his wig and eyegla.s.ses off.

"Y-young master Yuvin?" The shock registered on the investigator's face the moment w.a.n.g Yuvin removed his disguise.

"Hahaha, I'm glad you remembered!" w.a.n.g Yuvin cried in joy.

"But you don't have to call me young master anymore. You no longer work for us. You already a person in authority." He added.

Chief Investigator Li's mouth gaped open. What a coincidence! He was just thinking about this guy not too long ago, now he's already in front of him. What's even more surprising was, he's the owner of the shoe which triggered his memories from the past.

But, wait a minute. Why was he disguising himself?

"Who would have thought that we'll meet again under this kind of circ.u.mstance. Anyway, why are you looking like that? GEEZ! Did you get tired of being attractive and complimented all the time?" Chief Investigator Li asked with curiosity.

"Err... Yes, I disguised myself for I was not comfortable being the center of everyone's attention. And I never enjoyed when females throw themselves at me." w.a.n.g Yuvin answered.

The chief investigator squinted his eyes. Could it be?

"Brother Li, why are you looking at me like that? Hey, don't get me wrong, I still like it when a girl smiles at me and compliments me. It's just that I feel like they only noticed me because of my looks and the clothes I wear. It feels nice but it doesn't make me feel special at all. Also, there were times when they come strongly at me, if genders were reversed, I can already consider that as hara.s.sment." He added.

Investigator Li almost choked with his saliva when he heard w.a.n.g Yuvin's worry.

Seriously? Any man, including himself, would trade anything to become a cover of a magazine-level good looking. Imagine, all the females throwing themselves at you. You'll never have to worry about getting a date anytime. All you had to do is to stand and wait for them come to you.

But this guy was different. He took female attention for granted! With the tone of his voice, he made it seemed like his good looks were a curse rather than a blessing. However, w.a.n.g Yuvin had also a point. Actually, what he was experiencing was already an act of hara.s.sment and an invasion of his own private s.p.a.ce. No wonder he had to disguise himself.

"I'm sorry that you had to deal with that. But it's also not good to deceive other people. Next time, put those aggressive females in their place whenever they try to hara.s.s you. Don't let them get away just because they're women, stand up for yourself."

The investigator said in a concerned tone.

w.a.n.g Yuvin nodded his head gesturing the investigator that he understood him.

"Anyway, let's start with the interrogation." The inspector said as he took some blank sheet of paper with him and lead w.a.n.g Yuvin to a small and square room.

Inside the room were two plastic chairs separated by a table under a hanging light bulb. The moment the two guys had sat down, Chief Investigator Li started asking questions.

"You said you're the owner of the shoe found at the scene, are you the person who threw the shoe at him?"

"Yes, I was the one who threw my left shoe at him."

"How come the CCTVs in the lobby didn't catch a glimpse of you?"

"There were only five CCTVs inside the lobby. It wasn't that hard to find a blind spot. Before I threw my shoe at the guy, I positioned myself in an area outside the CCTVs peripheral vision."

"I see."

The chief investigator said as he wrote down w.a.n.g Yuvin's statements. He then asked series of questions in a rapid manner which was too quick for the other party to think about the answers.

The interrogation lasted for almost an hour in after which Chief Li was convinced that w.a.n.g Yuvin was not by any chance related to the masked man. It also helped that they already knew each other and that taking an innocent person as a hostage was something they both condemn.

After the interrogation ended, they went back to the chief' s office. Inside the office, Chief Li handed him some doc.u.ments for him to fill up. But before he started signing them, w.a.n.g Yuvin requested the chief not to let anyone know who the owner of the shoe was. At first, Chief Li was a bit hesitant, but upon realizing the possible danger that would fall on the guy, he then agreed.

When w.a.n.g Yuvin had already finished filling up the doc.u.ments, the two of them exchanged numbers and promised to meet again to catch up with each other's stories.

"It's already getting late, let's chat some other time." Chief Li said.

w.a.n.g Yuvin gently nodded his head before he bowed down and thank the chief investigator. Chief Li then ushered him to his office door and said:

"Send my regards to your sister and niece."

"Yes, Chief I will." w.a.n.g Yuvin answered as he stepped out the office door and directed himself to the parking lot while smilingly widely.

Who would have thought that his selfless act of saving a damsel in distress would lead him to meet a comrade he had never seen for almost three years.

Well, it seemed like amidst the awful incident earlier, something unexpectedly good happened.
