[Yamasteh, Level 75, Gold I Divine Brawler, Member of the Guild, t.i.tans. Do you wish to accept?]
"No way! Why is a member of t.i.tans adding me as a friend? SARS! SARS! Can you see this? Am I dreaming?" Al's eye enlarged, unconvinced by the system's prompt.

Among the myriad of guilds, 't.i.tans' belonged to the Top 20, ranked at 18th. Lidar, Al's idol, is also an upper echelon of this group.
[You are now friends with Yamasteh.]
[You have a message from Yamasteh.]
"Hi Big Brother, this is Nisha. I'm almost there, give me 15 minutes. Too bad, Alistor has no teleportation halls. xexexe."
'Holy guacamole! No way!' Al kept on gasping, his self-esteem plunging. As far as he knew, Nisha was only 14 years old. The boy finally realized how weak he was. All this time, he was just pa.s.sing by to a prodigy, and a guild member of his idol without saying 'hi.' What a blunder!
"Thank you for taking the trouble, Nisha hehe. Can you pa.s.s by the main entrance?" Al carefully replied.
"Sure. What's the situation there? Xexe, sorry, I don't have that much intel with regards to Human Territories." Yamasteh answered.
"Just some puppy, trying to bully the cats. Hehe. No need to go into trouble, though. Once they see how strong you are, things will flow smoothly,", Al was embarra.s.sed by his situation.
While waiting for Nisha's arrival, Al kept on observing the situation. Bodies of dead characters won't disappear until the next reset. Madd and the other members of the Predators took advantage of this feature to scare the new players. They steadily collected a fee on everyone that was pa.s.sing by, except for the members of the Stone Troopers and wandering NPCs.
'You'll get a taste of your s.h.i.+t, soon.' Al wickedly grinned.
"Big Brother, I'm already here. What's up with the traffic at the main gate? Xexe", Nisha popped a message.
"It's caused by a guild called Predators. The group has monopolized the entry points in the city, and shamelessly collects fees from pa.s.sersby. Those who won't abide would be instantly killed. Hehe. I'll be the one to pay for your fee. Don't worry. Wait for me." Al quickly replied, mobilizing Udil towards the gate.
...
A white-cloaked man wearing a metal mask joined the queue of entrants. The cloth on his right shoulder was ripped, showcasing a ma.s.sive golden gauntlet that encased his whole right arm. Upon his arrival, everybody's attention was immediately directed towards him.
"Call Master Madd! Quick!" A scout immediately alerted his ally, upon inspecting the player.
Other players tried to view this man's profile, but all that was displayed was a series of question marks.
Once players reached Level 50, they may choose to customize the privacy of their accounts.
"He looks so cool!" Murmurs echoed. The man in white was no other than Yamasteh, who was currently 100 body units away from the gate.
Meanwhile, Al was having a hard time searching for Nisha as he was currently inside the city.
"Hey! Do you want to be killed? Fall in line!" A Level 3, Rookie III Human Bomber named Gambino checked on Al.
"Sorry, boss. Just checked something hehe." Al scrambled back to the corner, afraid to trigger a commotion.
...
"What? A peculiar looking man and his profile could not be checked? Bring him to me, quick!" Madd licked his lips upon hearing his subordinate's report.
The Human Priest immediately scuffled back to where Nisha was. "Hey! You with the white cloak. Follow me." He coldly demanded.
Without a fuss, Nisha followed the measly Level 4, Rookie II Human Priest.
The crowd was stirred as they saw Nisha's character casually walking towards the gate. "Woah, a special visitor? He gets to cut the line."
Madd immediately saw Yamasteh, and his brows twitched. He, too, tried checking the player's profile, but all he got was a series of question marks, a sign that this guy's level is higher than him. His confidence instantly wavered, but he tried holding his ground, taking pride in his authority and those who supported him in secret.
He tried gesturing a cancel to the escort, but the Human Priest failed to interpret it correctly. "Hurry up. The boss hates to wait." The Human Priest, Shamguard urged. Nisha nodded his head as he remained silent. He quickly increased his pace, eventually leaving the convoy behind.
"Hey, wait!" Shamguard screamed, but he was too late. In a moment's notice, Nisha appeared in front of Madd, shocking everyone.
"Sorry to keep you waiting. Are you the boss around here?" Yamasteh asked in a friendly tone.
"Uh, yes. I'm the boss here, and I'm a.s.suming that it's your first time to enter our city. Correct? Allow me then to welcome you to the splendid city of Alistor. As a sign of goodwill, I'll lower your entrance fee into half of its price. Instead of 2,500 merits, it's only 1,250 now." Madd faked a smile as he bowed.
Those who were near tried their best to hide their surprise. The price discount was a fraud, but they did not dare to protest.
"Wow, thank you for the goodwill. Accept my payment, then." Yamasteh bowed in return. Just when Madd was about to raise his head, he saw Yamasteh's gauntlet glow.
"Death's Contract!" A dark-gold circular array suddenly appeared beneath the two characters. Since Divine Races specialize in AOE abilities, their users must be careful not to damage uninvolved parties. It takes a lot of practice to control the size of the area for each skill, and Nisha seemed to have mastery over this aspect already.
Yamasteh jumped in the air, his glowing golden fist s.h.i.+ning with the rays of the sun. It headed straight towards the bald head of Madd.
Boom!
Madd was still in the process of returning to his standing posture when things suddenly changed. He was not able to react in time, his head cras.h.i.+ng on the floor.
The whole area where the array previously appeared was wrecked. After a few seconds, the dust settled. Yamasteh was currently perched over the body of Madd as he glanced around, sending a signal for other malicious players to come, but no one dared. They knew how powerful Madd was, but someone stronger than him had appeared. The new players cheered in secret.
"The master is dead..." Shamguard gasped. "But how...? Killing players inside a city is not allowed."
"He's from a different race! s.h.i.+t! Report this to the members of Stone Troopers! Immediately tell them that there's an invader!" One of the members of Predators exclaimed.
Meanwhile, Al, who happened to witness all that had occurred, wanted to cry ( T_T ).
He and Yamasteh are in so much trouble.
