Looking around, one would immediately feel the tense atmosphere inside the city gates as spectators and t.i.tans' entire alliance moved around the place. The buzzing noises were painful for the ears.
Many high-leveled players decorated in prestigious war equipment were stationed in each of the four entrances, attracting the admiration of the onlookers.
"I want to be a part of their guild! When would that happen?"
"Haha! In your dreams! The fact that we could manage to enter the Open World is already enough. Ordinary people like us could just watch all throughout our lives. We'll never be able to play in life's grand stage."
"Why are you so bitter, dude?"
"I'm just being pragmatic."
"d.a.m.n. What's wrong with the Six Purgatories? Why are they not yet setting camp outside of the city?" One of the bystanders suddenly grumbled.
"I don't know. Maybe we're just really wasting time here. d.a.m.n those content creators in the forums! They're really good at exaggerating things. Let's go and grind some monsters instead. I'm tired of waiting."
"Yeah. Maybe it was just a bluff."
Although many had already grown tired of waiting for things to escalate, many still chose to stay to witness the most antic.i.p.ated large-scale war in War Ground's history. They kept themselves busy by scrutinizing the bigshots that were present in Alistor.
Meanwhile, the South Gate, where Lidar and DumbleBell were stationed, was fortified by the guild called as First Heaven. Their group was composed of fifty elven members, all of whom were equipped in purple leather armors.
"How's the rotation, Vilon?" Lidar was talking to a white long-haired Sorcerer Elf.
"Still according to our plans, Sir Lidar. Most of our unit's strongest mages are here now to support you and Guild Leader, DumbleBell." Vilon replied with a silvery voice.
"Good. Stay on your stations as I'll visit the other gates. Don't forget to rest in rotation. This waiting game will be daunting. Immediately report to me if something unusual happened." Lidar instructed.
"How about the increasing number of spectators, Sir Lidar? Should we force them out of the city? I'm afraid that they'll hinder us during the war." Vilon inquired.
"Haha. Don't mind them. This is a great opportunity to advertise our guild. I'll leave this site to your capable hands then, Vilon. I'll be right back." Lidar immediately turned around, disappearing in a blur.
"Recon units, any updates?" Lidar sent a message in their guild chat as he moved around through the rooftops of the buildings.
"Still, no movements. We're losing a lot of resources in this war, Sir Lidar. What if this is just a bluff?" Scouts.h.i.+eld, the one who was a.s.signed in Guadalupe to check on the guild, Jura.s.sic Cataclysm, was the first to reply.
"It's okay. Don't be affected. Always a.s.sume the worst case. If in case this is just a bluff, the Six Purgatories would surely lose face. So, stay alert and be mindful of your surroundings." Lidar replied as the other five scouts reported the same update - no movements.
"Lidar, I've already contacted Ogni. He said he wouldn't be able to join our cause." A Divine Gunner named Tupac suddenly reported in their guild chat.
"Thank you, Vice Leader Tupac. The same thing with me. Still no response from Gerd." Lidar replied.
"d.a.m.n. If only the Cold Hearted Queen could join us in this fight, our chances of defending Alistor would drastically increase." Tupac replied.
"Hehe. It's okay. After all, we're asking her to face the guild where she developed. That's no easy feat. What about the other Top G.o.ds? Still, no replies?" Lidar asked.

"No responses. Those b.a.s.t.a.r.ds don't want to pick sides. It's okay, though. We've come prepared, right? Haha." Tupac answered.
"Yup. How's the completion of the last guardian of Alistor?" Lidar continued.
"Just one material left, and he would be unlocked," Tupac replied.
"Good. We'll be needing him to take care of the other Purgatories. Just continue on fortifying our defenses and do what we have planned." Lidar instructed as he finally closed the chat interface.
"Master Lidar! Master Lidar!" A familiar voice suddenly called out from behind the man. It came from no other than the two Human Swordsmen - X-1 and GreyWitZ.
"Haha. Oh, it's the two of you again! How's the patrol? Did you check out the sewers?" Fortunately, Lidar stopped moving as he entertained the two low-leveled players.
"Yes, Master Lidar. We inspected the sewers and followed it until its end. GreyWitZ and I believe that this pa.s.sage could be used by the Six Purgatories to pull off a surprise attack. I suggest that you put your strongest man inside the tunnel to guard it." X-1 reported with full confidence.
"Haha. That's an interesting suggestion, X-1. Sure, I believe that you and GreyWitZ would be able to guard this pa.s.sage for us, then?" Lidar smiled as he tapped the shoulder of each of the two Human Swordsmen.
"Sure, Master Lidar. We won't fail you!" X-1 and GreyWitZ simultaneously answered as their body's temperature suddenly rose.
"Haha. Good. Alright, then. I'm gonna survey the situation in the other gates." Lidar immediately disappeared before the two swordsmen.
"He touched me." X-1's mouth gaped as he got excited.
"Yes! Master Lidar touched us. Come, the Six Purgatories might be already lurking in the sewers! We must not fail our master, X-1!" GreyWitZ giddily ran back to the plaza of Alistor.
"Where is the end of the Alistor's sewer?" Lidar once again opened the guild chat interface as he inquired.
"s.h.i.+t. How could we miss that?! Scouts, check this area immediately, and give me the reports!" Tupac immediately replied.
t.i.tans and their allied guilds waited patiently for the end of the city protection order as they continued to patch the holes in their defenses with the help of Lidar.
The eastern gate was led by Tupac, one of the three guild vice-leaders of t.i.tans. In his hands were two revolvers with green wings in their frames. Together with him was the guild leader of 5th Heaven, a Dwarf Summoner in green vest named Dragon Green Eyes and an Orc Priest in an orange cloak, named Pele, the leader of the 4th Heaven.
Meanwhile, Nisha and their unit were in the northern gate together with a red-haired Human Arsonist wielding a crimson staff, the leader of the 2nd Heaven - Maiden's Lament.
In the western gate was the remaining two vice guild leaders, the first one was a Dwarf a.s.sasin with green hair and red chainmail, named ForbiddenFruit, while the other one was a Divine Vanguard called MidasHeart.
Everyone in Alistor was in a waiting game.
