Hearing what Miya said, I didn't think twice and quickly look for any kind of object that won't get blown away from the twister that Catmod made. Trees are a no-no because I have seen what the twister that Catmod summoned can do. Quite a lot of trees during the battle against the skeletons were all reduced to dust after pa.s.sing his ball of air and if I clung into a tree, I would be easily blown away and I would be cut into smithereens.

Miya's choice is risky since it is a tree root and there are chances that would make the root of the tree to break or the tree that the root is growing into would be blown away from the wind, however, I won't judge on her choice because she is an expert in this forest. She can tell whether it is going to get blown away or st.u.r.dy enough to hold on its own.

After a few seconds of frantic searching, I finally found a stone that looked like a pillar protruding on the soil around the bushes. I checked it up and the stone is quite attached to the soil. This is a huggable one and I can cling on it while the wind is blowing without getting blown off. Although I can use the Pillar of Doom, I am not too sure about its durability. I can destroy it in a few attacks and use it as a makes.h.i.+ft hammer. That means the wind would also be able to destroy my pillar which would be bad if I ever make it as the thing I need to cling onto.

Without waiting for Christmas to arrive, I hugged the rock even though a few spots on its surface is covered with moss. The wind is gradually getting stronger and if I remained standing without clinging to anything, I am literally courting for death.

Catmod stood with his paws clasped together while behind him is the twister that materialized out of nowhere. Underneath the twister is the white-colored magic circle that maintains the materialization of the twister. The chief almost broke out a sweat while gritting his teeth from his vertical mouth. He might have experienced severe storms and strong winds in this forest before but the wind being generated from this twister is something he can't fight against. 

Catmod stood still while his paws still remained clasped and he appears like a cat praying to G.o.d or something, but in truth is that he is doing this to maintain the twister from dissipating. Other than that, he is vulnerable to anything else. However, Catmod did it seeing the mental state of the Chief. The Chief that undergoes the transformation of an Abyssal Demon seems more easily shaken than when he was still a human. With that, he didn't bother to do much and let the demon get shaken more. 

"You are just a wretched cat who managed to get stronger! Why are you siding with humans! You should join me and conquer the world! With your power, we can dominate anyone to our bidding!" the chief said. He has to persuade the cat or else, he would be dead. Since it was a cat, he can easily persuade a cat like him.

However, what made him wrong is that Catmod is someone who is more a.s.sociated with humans and demons like him are one of the natural enemies that Catmod likes to beat and kill.

"I only accept subordinates as long as they managed to survive this tornado for at least 3 hours straight. Whaddya say? Wanna give it a shot?" and Catmod controlled the twister to hit the Chief.

The Chief activated his Dark Energy s.h.i.+eld to block off the damage done on the twister. However, he is totally overestimating his Dark Energy s.h.i.+eld and underestimating Catmod's Twister. Before he can react, the twister began to churn him inside. His body's scales were all removed and reduced to ashes while his wings and horns were all torn. He got no time to react and shout because it all happened so fast. Even his Dark Energy s.h.i.+eld that is capable of blocking Tier 4 magic is broken to pieces, leaving him to his fate being ripped to pieces.

Catmod looked at his white twister that slowly turn violet color due to the blood that the Chief is spilling out. The twister continues to spin and soon, it started shooting out parts of fleshes from the Chief. After a few more minutes, Catmod stopped his twister from manifesting and when it dissipated, a skeleton of the chief was left behind and fell on the ground. Still, the guy is still alive and still twitching.

"Abyssal Demons sure are hard to kill, even though they are only skeletons, they still move," Catmod said as he shook his head in amazement.

I've been monitoring the battle for quite a while but it's hard to monitor the battlefield while clinging on a rock for your life. The battle seems anticlimactic since the Chief ended up dying while trying to persuade Catmod to go with him and rule the world. As soon as the twister dissipated, I stopped clinging to the rock and wipe off the moss that sticks into my body before I looked at Miya.

Miya is already fixing her hairstyle after the wind ruined it.

"Is it done?" I asked Miya.

"I think not. Abyssal Demons are hard to kill and unless their remains are still intact, around 2 days, they will resurrect and will terrorize again," Miya explained.

"So his ability is similar to an undead?"

"Yes. Abyssal Demons are said to be one of the advanced versions of the undead. Once an undead undergoes an evolution of some sort, it will either become a Lich or an Abyssal Demon or a Necromancer though I don't know if that is true or just the Abyssal Demons just have a power similar to undead. Because unlike the undead that resurrects after a few minutes, the Abyssal Demons took too much time to just resp.a.w.n, therefore, I doubt they are the same species."

I took a mental note of that because I might meet a few enemies with similar talents like them. I have to prepare as soon as possible and get stronger quick.

We approached the battlefield and saw Catmod stepping on the skeleton that is still clinging on Catmod's foot. The only problem that the skeleton is facing is that Catmod is much stronger than he looks like and I doubt the skeleton can even remove that with sheer force. Miya approached Catmod and the skeleton while she unsheathed the dagger from the sheath.

"May I, Nekoyama? I want to deal the final blow on this guy. We still have a score to settle with."

"Of course, deal with the enemy however you want," Catmod said as he adjusted his monocle.

Miya bowed down to Catmod and moved towards the skeleton and stomping the Chief's ribcage.

"How does it feel to get reduced to a skeleton?"

"CLACK CLACK CLACK!"

"Eh? I can't understand it," Miya said before she stuck her knife to the ribs and pulls out one of the ribs.

"CLACK CLACK CLACK CLACK!"

"Speak properly!"

I never knew that Miya would be this violent in destroying the chief. The chief's retribution is totally something else. It was like watching someone torturing a skeleton. In the very end, Miya destroyed the remains of the skeleton by burning that is covered with cleansing. Just like the usual, when the soul is about to dissipate, I suck the soul for use later. And from the looks of it, the conflict is easily resolved.

On the chasm where the Chief has gone his transformation, the tremendous energy that the chasm is producing rumbled a bit before the voice resurfaced. The voice of Shadow.

"Another useless fellow, I have to look for someone else to corrupt then. These days, it's hard to find a decent person to corrupt.  Until I make my full recovery certain, I won't dare anyone destroy my plans! Just you all wait, all of you c.o.c.ky magicians and humans would kneel in front of me!"
