As soon as the old man initiated the battle signal, the two of us started our clash. He didn't waste his time and used his hands to use it like an edged weapon. With the help of the gloves, I can block off his attacks since the Firebreathing Gloves is able to block any attacks from bladed weapons but he is too fast that his hands are able to tear parts of my clothes. If I have known that this would be the outcome of me fetching the package, I would have not done this errand in the first place. Still, I have to deal with this enemy since its what I am tasked with.

"Just give up the package. A fake like you is not worthy of obtaining the item," he said as he suppressed me in the battle. I have no choice but to keep myself on the defensive. I have no weapons to begin with since I am much more reliant on my magic skills. Who would have thought that there is someone who can suppress me in close-quarter combat without using magic?

In my head, the seed quickly comments on the battle style of my opponent while I am fighting against him.

"This guy was very good in battles. His hand is under the strengthening form that is called Blade Conversion. You can say that his hands are much sharper than a normal sword or knife and anyone who is attacked will be having a hard time blocking it. I should say that you need to make sure that the enemy won't be able to move. I suggest you use your Forestry Control and your Pillars of Doom to stop him."

"Got it," and I quickly focused my defense on his strikes. Although it was very easy to predict, it was just too fast for my eyes and for someone who trained on fast strikes, this is around the difficulty of dodging 300 sharp illusionary knives that strikes every 30 seconds. Although I pa.s.sed that test from Moonlight's training regime, I barely did finish that though after retrying the challenge for 2 months.

His attacks started to go on repet.i.tion and even though I am spilling much more blood than usual, I did not surrender and let him just do what he wants. I am just waiting for the right time. Just as he was about to finish his combo, in my eyes, I suddenly spotted the opening for me to use my advantage.

"Hu!" I slammed the ground in a hurry and without saying any chant, the green magic circle appeared beneath my palm and it rotated as fast as it can.

The impostor did not flinch when vines appeared beneath the ground and started to constrict him. Instead, he grinned and allowed the vines to entangle and coil him.

"Hmph. Just as you know, I already know your power so it is pointless of you to do that to me. Haven't you learned your lesson earlier?"

I didn't show a disappointed face, instead, I grinned and looked at him with a menacing look.

"Oh? So confident I guess? Did you really think I would really not know that at all? Your pathetic copycat abilities cannot be able to know and comprehend what is in store with you!" I clasp my hands and a brown colored magic circle appeared in between my palms and it rotated as fast as it can.

"It's useless!. Your petty attacks won't work at me!"

I grinned and rotated my palms that are clasped together causing the magic circle to rotate very fast. While the impostor is cutting the vines that are coiling on him, he didn't notice the pillars that I summoned around him. He only noticed it when his surroundings started to grow dark that he noticed the pillars around him.

"What?! What are these things?!"

I didn't answer but instead controlled the pillars to crush the impostor. The impostor quickly regretted his actions as he quickly tried to cut off all of the vines that are trying to entangle him. However, due to my magic being hard to deal with and I made sure that the Forestry Control I used is in the complicated state, even someone like the impostor who is very fast in using his hands to cut off the vines cannot cut off every single vine that binds him.

As the pillars closed to each other, his screams started to rouse around the place. He tried to pull out every single vine out in one go but what can he do? He is just a single man against plants that can either stay rooted to the ground without any way to get uprooted or pin the victim forever on the ground.

The old man did not do anything to stop me. He just observed what I am doing as he sips the tobacco pipe and exhaust smoke out of his mouth and nose. It looks like he didn't care if the impostor is going to die or not. However, I am not a killer and I am uncomfortable towards killing others, therefore, I decided to give him a chance to stay alive this time around.

"You won't be crushed by the pillars if you surrender. I am a lenient man and I don't hold grudges against others if they beg forgiveness and I am not a tyrant so I will be giving you a good chance."

"Alright! Alright! I am an impostor! I am not the real Kazuma! I am just some low impostor that can't even steal the necessary package! Just let me out of here! Please!"

His voice is begging and from the looks of it, he is very desperate right now to escape from the predicament. I looked into the old man and he nodded without saying anything except for the sipping action from his tobacco pipe. It's the rules to stop the battle if someone surrendered and since he surrendered, I decided to retract the Pillars of Doom away from him so that she won't be able to get crushed to death.

Just as I was finis.h.i.+ng the retraction, a very fast figure escaped the Pillars of Doom. and all of a sudden, appeared before me.

"Surprise motherf*cker. You dumb sh*t should die!"

I didn't expect this and I didn't have any chance to defend. However, just as I was about to cover myself to defend myself, a very fast shadow flew in front of me and it pa.s.sed through the impostor's chest. The impostor stopped his movements and he looked into his chest as the red blood escapes through the hole created in his chest.

"What... just... happened...?" as he speaks, blood started flowing out his mouth and after a few more seconds, blood started to escape from his orifices that it looked like he is drenched from the rain of blood.

If I was the Kazuma in the past, I would have fainted in fear and might have already fled from the scene. but I was a magician now and the resistance to these kinds of things is very high for me after developing some sort of resistance from it. This scene no longer gets me to sway in fear and disgust. Then, that shadow that seemed to pa.s.s through the chest of the impostor suddenly flashes back in front of me and returned to the person where the thing came from. Then, I just realized that the "thing" that pa.s.sed by into the body of the person is something that the old man who became our referee owned.

It was the tobacco pipe.

I looked into the old man who gave me a smile.

"I am just merely protecting my customers and since you are the one who emerged victorious, you will immediately become the person that will get to take the item that Rensama ordered. However, you need to show me what Miss Rensama said to make sure that you are still the real deal and not some copycat just like that guy over there."

"Sure!" I said enthusiastically and conjure the blue fireball out of my hands.

The old man's eyes grew wide as he saw the blue fireb.a.l.l.s in my hands. It was like his eyes are about to pop out of his eye sockets after seeing my fireball.

"B-BLUE FIREBALL!?" he looked at me like he was seeing a monster for the first time.

"Huh? Is there any problem with it?" I asked.

"Ah? Oh, no. Not that serious. I am just surprised to see this blue fireball of yours. Miss Rensama told me about your blue fireball and that is the thing I need to see since it is a unique color. I already know that the guy earlier is the impostor but I decided to let him admit he was the impostor but since he is really making sure to obtain the package, I decided to just stop him and kill him. It's not really a big deal."
