Moonlight already briefed me on what will happen in times of getting the Magician Insignia. Every nation has a Council of Magicians and the council that I visited is the j.a.pan branch. Every branches has their own way of giving the Magician Insignia. From what Zacharias told me, this simulation is a test that will measure my Magician Insignia before the challenge end. If that is the case, there should be something else in here than what meets in the eye.

The Tokyo looks destroyed and no longer resembled its former glory. It was like it got to witness a very brutal and calamity inducing war. Dead bodies littered, ruins of buildings still burning and the skies is dark due to the smoke that covers the whole expanse of the sky. In short, it was like the Tokyo has been wrecked by war.

I continue to stroll, my hands into my pocket and realized that my pocket still contains the Flamethrower Gloves and my phone. I checked my phone and the chat group and saw that the chat group is still on. Sighing in relief, I decided to pocket the phone again and equipped the gloves into my hands. Without the knowledge of the place, I need to be cautious.

My feet takes me to the s.h.i.+buya Crossing(1). Unlike the usual s.h.i.+buya Crossing bustling with people, the place I am seeing is no longer resembling to what I remember. The white lines on the ground are wrecked, the concrete is cracked and dead bodies are also littered here. The former s.h.i.+buya 109(2) is also no longer standing. The trees on the streets are only tree trunks without a single leaf. I frowned at this sight. If Tokyo goes like this, is it possible that humans living here are dead?

Just as I am wondering, I suddenly saw a movement not too far away from the area. I am a cautious person so instead of approaching the movement, I decided to hide and observe the movement first before choosing my next option. Soon enough, I can see a silhouette on the distance. It seems to be scrambling on the pile of trash but I can see that it is neither human or animal, it stood upright but its silhouette doesn't look closer than a human.

"What the heck is that?" I murmured. I don't really know what that is, the silhouette is just to obscure to call as a human.

The silhouette continued to approach my location until I now see what this silhouette looks like. Its no longer a wonder why that figure doesn't resemble a human, its because that silhouette is not a human, its a freaking demon!

I didn't dare to move on my location. Just by looking at that demon, I can sense that it was a demon stronger than me. In other words, if I faced that guy, its a one sided match. I don't have a match against that guy and I would be reduced to a lifeless corpse if I jumped on him and beat him up.

I waited patiently and continue to observe the demon. Luckily, the demon did not linger for too long in the area and eventually drifted away from my location. I sighed in relief and looked around. The setting in this place is Tokyo at war when I first arrived but seeing the demon, I quickly changed my mindset on the area. This place is not ravaged by war but ravaged by demons and human war. From the looks of it, the humanity in this setting lost the war causing the demons to run rampant.

With quick movements, I moved away from my previous location and look around the buildings, however, access seems to be limited to the streets as the buildings contain rubble. I continue to walk in the streets, hoping to find another human but it is futile and I saw no one else except the wreckage. However, I do not lose hope and continue to search the area.

Pssst...

Huh? Did I just hear something?

"Psst..."

This time, I am more aware on what I heard and with that, I looked around and check the place. In the corner of a building is a kid with 10 years old of age. Looking left and right, I don't see any demons, so after checking, I returned to my calm composure before rus.h.i.+ng to the kid.

"Who are you? How come you are looking fine?" the kid shot me a glance.

"Eh? A survivor?" I shot up an eyebrow and look at him.

He was a kid that holds a rifle on his thin arms and although his clothes is tattered, he still exudes a vibe of someone who is very knowledgeable and full of experience of the harsh world. His hair is tied in a ponytail due to his long hair.

"From the looks of it, you are a human and you seemed to be unaware of the world," the kid said, still exuding authority.

"Well, I just woke up and found out Tokyo like this," I made a blatant lie.

"I don't care. However, since you are here, I need your help, my sister is currently held hostage by the demons and I need help. You are someone who can help me. Please, I beg you!" the kid said and kowtowed to me.

I am baffled by this, he first exudes a very threatening aura and then he proceeds to kowtow. What is actually going on.

"Wait, wait, I just woke up today, tell me what is going on first!"

"I won't tell anything unless you help me!" the kid continued to kowtow.

"..." I am speechless. How do I rescue the girl if the demons I met are already very strong against than me. Is he so desperate on sending me to my grave? I just turned into a Rank 0 Apprentice, if I faced those demons, I am sure to fail this challenge, however, I am not entirely against it. If his sister is in danger, I might as well try to save her if I can. If protecting the humans is the role of the magicians, I need to get her out to safety, I sighed and facepalmed. This idea is going to hurt a lot.

"Alright, but tell me anything, I need every single info."
