Chapter 90

I fell silent on Moonlight's accusation . I snap out and felt a chill on my whole body . I indeed feel a bit of change . I don't think I am like this either . It's a drastic change in my personality that shouldn't be what it should be .

"Alright, alright, Moonlight . Let's discuss that later . We are running out of time and the enemies might be already planning something big already . Since the Elemental pixie is already in our hands, we might as well stop what the enemies are planning . So set aside that questioning for now . "

"Miya, will you join us and led us the way to the tribe? I know this would be against your former family but I don't want them to fall deeper into the darkness . Will you aid us in taking down your former tribemates?" Catmod asked .

Miya sighed but she didn't really say anything against what Catmod said . She clenches her fist and looks at Catmod with resolute eyes .

"I already betrayed my kind after moving away from them . It won't be a big change if I led you all into them . But the way to the tribe is dangerous . I can't guarantee the safety of all of you," Miya explained .

"You see, there are two ways to reach our tribe . The normal way and the shortcut . The normal way is the safe way for anyone . However, since they have changed, people like you would be immediately warned and might get chased by them . What made it more dangerous for us is that we have the Elemental Pixie . We can't afford to use that way . "

"Then what about the shortcut?" Moonlight inquired .

"The shortcut is indeed a shortcut, it's a much shorter version of the former way and it's unguarded by my fellow people but it is housed by different beasts that sucks in vitality of people . Only the people who have a high amount of resilience can cross that place or else we would fall victim to the predators' tricks . "

"Then both ways are dangerous?" Maple stated the obvious .

"Yes, they are both dangerous and can put our lives in peril but I suggest we go to the shortcut . Since it's unguarded by my fellow people and beasts are living there, it is not something that we need to be so highly guarded about . We would be sure enough we can sneak inside the place if we use that . Besides, you guys are strong magicians . You won't be having trouble if you do pa.s.s this place . "

"Is that so? Then the shortcut it is . This time, we would be going together . I can't afford other magicians to go into these troublesome guys . I might be endangering the lives of the newbies if I let these guys go rampaging and go terrorizing others just for looking for the egg . We would be needing to take action on this one . All of us went out of the cave .   Moonlight, Miya, Catmod, and Maple used their levitation skills to go back to the surface while I decided to just jump and use the pillars I conjured earlier . This is a bit troublesome but I guess I won't be getting helped by them since I managed to reach the surface earlier without their help . Therefore, I also started jumping from pillar to pillar . Like earlier, it's easy for me to do it like I was a ninja . It was like an innate ability of me to jump like one .

Of course, the people who used Levitation magic are much better at reaching the surface . I was the last person to reach the surface . Good thing they still waited for me though . Hikari hovered above me while Itazura is resting in my neck as always . The others were no longer have the same att.i.tude as me . It's a bit lonely but I think that is fine for me . I am not against what they were doing because I changed a lot . I am not the same guy that lacks the spine .

After that, Miya led the way for us . It's almost lunchtime but we did not stop to eat . I am not hungry either so I did not dare to stop them . We pa.s.sed a lot of sceneries, groves, cliffs, rivers and other areas . There are also beasts that tried to stop us but Catmod and Moonlight did the work . Due to this, the way to the shortcut is quiet .

Then, in no time, we just arrived on what Miya is saying as the shortcut . It consists of a lake and a lush amount of green trees . The only difference that this part has from the rest of the forest is that it's dark and gloomy atmosphere has .

"Here we are . This place is the only shortcut to our tribe . "

Before we can keep our toes forward, I heard a voice that seems to whisper in my ear .

"Come with me . . . "

The voice seems to be really enticing but I didn't get pulled by it . Instead, I frowned . Why are they trying to pull me in? I didn't really have anything to do with them . I looked at the others and saw them shaking their heads and rubbing their eyes . What is happening to them?

"Be careful everyone! Don't believe too much on what you are seeing right now . They are mostly illusions!" Miya shouted as she rubbed her eyes .

"Illusions!? Can we wipe them out?" Catmod asked .

"Unfortunately, they are too potent that they are hard to deal with! We just needed to break out from their illusions and allure to avoid them from dragging us to their lair!"

"These illusions . . . they are the ones used by Dryads!" Maple said as she gritted her teeth .

From the looks of it, all of them are suffering from an illusion currently . However, I don't think I am suffering in one which is strange . The area still looks the same, and the whispers that tried to pull me in seems to lack the punch of allure .

Then, I noticed that everyone started moving out in different directions right now . I frowned at this . Does that mean I am immune to their illusions?
