"I understand... That was the agreement... I prefer going solo anyway" Derik said indifferently as he got on his feet. His gaze was still fixed on the western part of the forest and strange lights flickered in his eyes. He felt an aura familiar, powerful and as dangerous as his death aura.
"Demos!" He called out with a stern look on his face.
"Yes... Another of my kind is close by... He or she is the host of one of the major elements of this world... This host controls the fire element, rumored to possess the most destructive power amongst the guardian spirits... The only guardian spirit that can rival its destructive power is the one which controls the creators favorite element... " Demos said
"Lightning..." Derik responded
"Exactly..." Demos laughed
"Can I defeat this new host? Can the death element suppress the destructive power of fire?" Derik asked
"Depends... It depends on the realm and skill of the host... The understanding of the host's element does help a lot... I must say it will be difficult for anyone to beat you at that... You should be fine as long as you take off your limiters. The host of a guardian spirit with the highest realm at this moment is Francis, the nature mage... The mid-grade of the silver realm... If you should risk your life in a battle against him at this point. I don't believe he can resist you for long... You should be fine... Apart from Samael, no one person can kill you easily in this place" Demos laughed.
"What If this person possesses the limiter path just like myself and Cyrus?... What happens then?" Derik asked
"The limiter path is something most people avoid... Michael and I only recommended this for you and Cyrus simply because of your low realms and the dangers lurking around the shadows of Gyro!... If we had a proper, peaceful environment to nurture you guys I definitely would have chosen a different path for you... The limiter path has its weaknesses and flaws no guardian spirit will make it their hosts the first choice... It's very unlikely your foe will possess this path..." Demos explained.
Derik let out a sigh of relief and turned his attention to Isabel and the other elves. His relaxed expression changed and his eyes turned cold...
"Let us leave now... I don't want to fall behind those reptiles... I will not slow down for the rest of the team this time, I hope you all can keep up" Derik said after which he turned into a purple beam of light shooting into the forest. The elves were terrified by his sudden change in Derik's mood and they quickly dashed after him. Flying at his top speed, his fiery darkish purple eyes burned brighter and a crazed smile appeared on his face. His body trembled and the energy around him looked unstable.
Isabel who has been following him tightly behind sighed and approached him. When she arrived by his side, she was shocked by what she saw! Her fear for Derik deepened even more and she quickly lengthened the distance between them.
"What's wrong with him?" A female low-grade silver realm battle mage asked. She saw Derik's body tremble and thought he was scared. Isabel went ahead to console him and offer him some advice but she abruptly retreated. This stunned everyone and they became curious.
"Is Derik okay?" Elsa asked with her eyes pinned on Derik's trembling body. She felt sorry for him and wished he would just let go of everything and join the elves, she knew they wouldn't maltreat him.
"That kid is not human anymore... His evil magic has consumed everything that makes him human!... He is not trembling out of fear, but excitement! I have a feeling he will be the one to initiate the battle... Once we get there... We must show where we stand and stay as far away as we can from him, if not we will not be spared... Blood will flow the moment we leave this forest... We must avoid it at all costs!" Isabel cried out.
Hearing this the others were terrified and couldn't help but look at Derik's trembling body. The began to believe Isabel's words and considered the kid right in front of them a monster!
"That's right... When the battle starts I will not differentiate between friends and foes... I advise you all to keep your distance... Anyone that interferes will be killed off immediately!" Derik laughed hysterically.
He knew how much he benefited from the deaths of his enemies he wasn't really willing to pa.s.s up on this opportunity. A warrior's body is like a container, the more energy they gather the more powerful the warrior becomes more powerful. To advance to a higher level, the user must have a great understanding of power and then must have acc.u.mulated enough energy through which they can refine their body and advance to a higher realm. At this point Derik's understanding of his element was profound already, all he needs to do at this point is to gather enough energy in order to increase his realm. Now he has a chance to meet a whole flock of enemies, why hold back? He was not letting go of this chance even in a thousand years!
"Derik... The fact that Samael appeared in this sky rift simply means that something really valuable is in here... Something even I do not know of... I want you to get it" Demos said calmly
"Are you worried about Elsa?" Derik's visage changed and turned cold in an instant. He knew that Demos didn't really approve of his feelings for her.
"Yes..." Demos did not try to hide his opinion from Derik.
"Even if you have to end her life to get your hands on those treasures... You have to promise me you will do it! This is just one person, do not forget your goals and the scores you need to settle! Never forget the past, embrace it and move forward... Tear down all forms of distractions or I will be forced to do it myself... Do you understand?" Demos suddenly sounded serious.
Derik frowned and pondered on his words for a while and sighed. He understood why Demos was anxious and he too had the same questions racing through his mind. Should Elsa attempt to stop him midway into the battle will he concede? Can he actually turn his back on her and push forward?
"You don't have to worry... I understand..." Derik said...
"I know I promised not to interfere with your personal matters but you're an excellent host... I can't bear to see you waste away! Things like love will only slow you down... Even if you must love, find someone with a clear goal and power to back it up... I just want to see you reach your peak!" Demos explained with a soft voice.
"Don't get all soft on me now... You don't have to worry, I do understand your concerns... I want you to subdue my emotions just like you use to do in the past... I think I'll work better with a clear mind" Derik laughed.
"Hahahaha! Of course, I can do that... I knew you won't disappoint!" Demos laughed.
With this done, Deriks eyes turned colder than ever and a dangerous aura diffused from his body. All those around him noticed the sudden change and they were terrified.
"Isabel" Derik called out with a cold voice.
"Yes?" Isabel responded quickly with fearful eyes, discreetly urging her powers just in case the unknown happens
"Tell me all you know of the Lizardmen race and the kingdom of Bladmar!" Derik's voice sounded cold and serious.
