David opened his eyes and turned his head. The girl was sleeping peacefully next to him, her eyelashes were trembling slightly, watching the dream, which she plunged into. He removed a few strands of hair from her face and began to look at her every dash with tenderness.

Her calm breathing caused a feeling of warmth in him, the young man immediately wanted to snuggle closer to her, but the strange sensations forced him to do the opposite.

David got out of bed and quickly went to the bathroom, he turned on the light and looked in the mirror.

'd.a.m.n, faster than I thought.' The man opened the tap with water and washed away the drops of blood flowing from his nose. He washed his face with cold water and stood for a few minutes to finally make sure that the bleeding stopped.

David turned off the lights in the bathroom and went back to the bedroom. Moonlight fell on the girl's face, making her sleeping image even more attractive. The man looked down from above, enjoying the view of her beautiful body, covered with a thin, translucent sheet.

If any artist or sculptor were in his place at the momen he would immediately want to capture her image, which would undoubtedly become a world masterpiece.

But only he was here, and she belonged only to him. The man looked at the delicate diamond ring, the moonlight reflected off the jewel, playing with white highlights on the wall of the room.

David smiled. Now anyone who looks at his woman will know that her heart is already taken by him.

He stroked her sleeping face with his palm, her skin was as soft as silk. The corners of his lips, looking up, began to go down slowly until a smile disappeared from his face.

The man's gaze was intense and deep.

"I hope someday you will forgive me for my selfishness."

He raised his palms to her temples, closed his eyes, and plunged into her dream.

. . .

"No, David! When will you stop embarra.s.sing me? I will not show you these photos!" The girl protested to the last since it was the fifth time when they were looking through the alb.u.m with her child and teen photos.

"Ahaha, come on! When we come to England, I promise to show you my alb.u.m, deal?"

"Well, if you say so... Ok, I agree," Elena pulled a photo alb.u.m out of the closet and put it back on the table.

"Hmmm, what kind of box is there?" the young man asked.

"Where?" Elena looked inside the cabinet, there was really an unknown box.

"Oh, it looks like you don't know what's there! What if there are some secret doc.u.ments?" David winked playfully, which caused the girl to feel a genuine interest to know what's inside it.

"Well, what secret doc.u.ments can there be?" Elena opened the box and froze, "What? But how?!" Before her eyes, in neat rows were scrolls with ancient inscriptions.

The girl opened her mouth in surprise, "How did it turn out to be here?! Rick said that they disappeared during the war! What are they doing in my house?!" Elena looked at David with wide eyes.

The man came closer to the box, took out one of the scrolls and unwrapped it. He carefully looked at each symbol and took the next scroll, "May I?"

"Of course, look as much as you want," the girl answered and gave him the box.

David studied every scroll, every symbol of it, so as not to miss a single detail. "I cannot believe that you remember all this by heart."

"Well, yeah, that's the way it is," Elena shrugged. It was not in her power to choose what to memorize and what not.

"And if I say that you can forget this, will you agree?" David put the box aside and looked at Elena with a questioning look.

"Hmm, well, I don't mind, of course, but I'm not sure that this is possible."

"Let's imagine that our conversation is now just a dream, and when you wake up, you will forget what it was about?"

"David, I even remember my childhood dreams, it's unrealistic," the girl replied.

"Can you not even try for my sake?" The young man pouted his lips, trying to provoke the pity in his fiancee.

"Ahaha, okay, okay. I will not promise anything, but for the sake of you I will try to do it," Elena sat down on his lap and put her arms around his shoulders.

David ran his hand through her hair, "I love you more than anything else in this world. Don't forget about it ever. Regardless of whether I am near or not, do you understand?"

"Hey, what's this talking all about? Where are you going?! I won't let you go anywhere, okay?" Elena knitted her brow and flicked on his nose.

"Yes, ma'am! Roger that!" The man saluted, and then clasped the girl by the waist and pulled her to him, "You said so yourself, so do not complain that I stuck to you like a limpet."

"Ha, don't even count on it! We'll see who will stick to whom!" Elena squinted at her eyes and leaned over the man's chest, covering his mouth with her lips.

. . .

David removed his palms from the girl's temples and sighed, 'So that's how it is.'

Elena had a slight smile on her face as if the girl had a dream about something pleasant. The young man leaned over and kissed her forehead.

He went around the bed, lay down, pressed the girl to his chest and closed his eyes. All he wanted to feel at the moment was her warmth.

. . .

Elena stretched and looked out the window. The sun's rays were playing on her pillow, heralding about a new day. She rolled over.

'Finally!' The girl's heart fluttered. Finally, she could enjoy the study of the sleeping face of her beloved man!

Elena gently touched the tip of his nose, but David did not react at all. The girl giggled, and after five minutes of attentive examination of each of his facial features, she raised her hand and touched his cheek with the tips of her fingers.

She ran her finger down his cheek, then across his brow, touched his eyelashes, ran her thumb over his lips. The man was fast asleep and did not react her touches at all.

"Honey, good morning!" She whispered and stroked his cheek again. But David didn't even blink.

"Hey, it's not fair to sleep so hard when there is such a charming girl next to you!" Elena poked her finger in the chest. "Hmmm, how about this?" She leaned toward his lips.

Stop. Something was wrong.

"David?" Elena lifted herself up and started pus.h.i.+ng him over the shoulder to awaken him, but the man did not wake up.

The girl brought her hand to his nose, and horror swept over her body. He was not breathing.

Elena leaned toward his chest. Knock Knock. It is beating!

"DAVID!!!" She began to shake him with all her might, she had never been so scared.

"Mmm, yes, what happened?" David slowly opened his eyes, as if he had awakened from age-old sleep.

"David!" She rushed to his neck, her whole body was shaking, "Lord, you scared me to death!" Elena moved away and began to examine his face, but it was the same as usual - joyful and smiling.

"Baby, what happened?"

"Fool! How can you sleep so tight?! I almost had a heart attack!" The girl punched him in the chest.

The young man looked at her in bewilderment, and then opened his mouth, realizing what the matter was, "Ahhh, forgive me, forgive me."

He pulled her close and began to gently stroke her back to remove all her worries, "I forgot to tell you that my brain works in a strange way. When it a.n.a.lyzes a large amount of information, I fall into a kind of lethargic sleep. But do not worry, I always wake up. I remember once, my mother could not wake me up the whole hour. Ahaha, she was going crazy back then!"

"You know, this is not a bit funny at all! And what information did you have to a.n.a.lyze, that you fell asleep again, eh?" Elena's questions were hitting right on the nose. David looked at his girlfriend in amazement,

"Whoa, what a cool girl you are! So clever, smart, beautiful-"

"Daaavid...," Elena did not succ.u.mb to his attempt to smoothly get away from the topic.

"-s.e.xy... Last night you turned me on so much that I was apparently too deep in my fantasies." A sly smile exposed his white teeth. Elena rolled her eyes. G.o.d, and she still expected that he would have some serious answer?

"And what did you see in your dream, my love? I hope I was in your dream too?" David was waiting for her answer with all the attention.

"Oh, you better not ask. You tortured me with this, I never expected that this torture would wait for me even at night!" Elena rolled her eyes, remembering her dream, "You made me watch this unfortunate alb.u.m with photos again and again, and then-"

"What was then?"

"And then-," Elena thought, "Then... And what happened after that? Ok, wait-" The girl began to recall her dream in detail, but everything ended in the place where she had taken the alb.u.m out of the closet.

"And then-," Elena looked at David in complete confusion, "I don't remember."
