Marcus looked around at the people, by their faces he immediately realized that they were not too happy to see him. He expected such a reaction from David, given that his wife was lying unconscious in the arms of another man. But what worried Marcus more were Sean's eyes, the boy was looking at him intently with his black gaze. From the side, it seemed that these two had a silent conversation in the few seconds that pa.s.sed, and understood each other's intentions.
A heavy atmosphere filled the air. The energy emanating from the man was even stronger than the one David and Rick had previously felt from Sean. It was reminiscent of a psychological attack working at the subconscious level. And if the last time the attacker was the spirit in Sean's body, now Marcus has taken on this role, and his depressing presence has been felt several times stronger.
'What happened? The power emanating from him is simply overwhelming,' Rick felt Marcus's abilities on a physical level, and at that moment the power of his Master was more powerful than ever.
The man did not take his eyes off the child, and David realized that Marcus was quite capable of even killing him with this look if he wanted to. Moreover, it was worth the spirit to mention that Sean was under the rule of another person who was to appear soon, and not even a minute pa.s.sed before that person appeared before them.
"Who are you to play with my family?! Let her go now!" David shouted, if it were not for the restraining force that paralyzed them all, he would have grabbed onto the throat of this man and did not let go until he let out his last breath.
Marcus leaned over and carefully put Elena on the ground, Sean did not take his black eyes off the man, as if he was watching an exotic beast, which was the only one of its kind.
David staggered and fell to the ground dead.
"David!" Everything happened so unexpectedly that Daniel's mind did not have time to recognize what had happened. He rushed to his brother, but Armand pulled the man back. David's whole body was shrouded in black energy, like a miasma, so dense that his own aura was not visible.
Marcus grinned, the child's reaction surprised the man, "Are you not afraid that I killed him?" Sean did not even blink his eye when his father fell to the ground next to the boy.
"But you didn't kill him, right?" he tilted his head to the side and looked at Marcus with interest, "Hmm, such an unusual human. Why are you trying to change the inevitable? The laws of time are beyond your control."
"We'll see," Marcus raised his hand and pointed to Sean, "The mind of this child obeys me."
Rick recalled that when Marcus returned from David's house, he said that he had left them a small gift. Was it really about Sean? Rick then could not find reasons to stay next to the boy, so as not to arouse Taubert's suspicion, and now he could only speculate what kind of control he was talking about. Did Marcus manage to introduce one of his chips into a child or directly subordinate his mind? Both options were a big problem for them.
"Hmm, so you decided to take power over this young man? A reasonable move, but still meaningless," said the spirit in an indifferent voice. The cares of these people were for him at the same level as the lives of ants crawling under their feet.
Marcus didn't care how senseless this decision seemed. Of all those present, the potential of this boy was the greatest, and he was the threat that could interfere with the plans of the man.
"Sean," said Marcus in a low, even voice. The boy's pupils flashed, their natural brown-blue color began to break through the blackness. "Give me the pendant."
"Sean! Wake up now! What are you doing?!" Daniel watched as his nephew, like a humble servant, approached the man, removed the pendant from his neck and handed it to Marcus.
"Will you let me take it?" the man asked, he could not touch the pendant of the Teser clan without the permission of a member of this family.
"Yes," the child answered, and Marcus, with an undisguised smile on his face, took the pendant from his hands, "Well done, good boy," he stroked Sean's head, but the child's look was empty and lifeless.
Finally, this thing was in his hands, he had been looking for it for so many years, and now this pendant was in his control. He could even touch it with ease... Wh-what? The chain along with the pendant evaporated from the hands of the man.
"Sean, are you a fool?! Your mom gave you this! How can you give it to this man?!"
Daniel got cold feet. Ashley had many skills, including telekinesis, and it was not difficult for the girl to move things in s.p.a.ce without touching them. And now this little rogue was not afraid to steal the pendant directly from the hands of Marcus!
Daniel held out his hands to grab the child, but only touched the air.
"Young lady, didn't your mother teach you that you can't take things of adults without asking for permission?" As Ashley transferred the pendant from Marcus's hands to hers, with the same ease, the man transferred the child along with the pendant back to him. "But I have to give you credit, baby Ashley, I did not expect you to be so resistant to my powers."
Marcus was genuinely surprised, this girl behaved as if his aura of suppression did not work on her at all when even adult men barely held themselves in order not to lose consciousness. And the truth is said that the next generation is more developed.
It was admirable.
"If you even dare touch her, and I will kill you!" Rick growled, his composure was on the verge. The beat of his heart became more frequent, blood rushed to his head, his body was torn by heat and anger.
Marcus noticed how the corners of Rick's eyes turned red, "Baby, I need to solve an important issue with your dad. Sleep now," the man closed Ashley's eyes with his palm, the child's legs gave way, and she fell to the ground. "Sleep," Marcus gave the command to Sean, and both children blacked out.
"Marcus, what the h.e.l.l are you doing?! Stop that immediately!" Armand tried to stop his brother, but as soon as their eyes clashed, a sharp pain pierced the spine of the man.
Crunch!
Daniel clearly heard the sound of broken bones, Armand fell to the ground, his body froze in a strange pose, his lips turned blue. Daniel's physiological knowledge was enough to realize that his friend had a broken neck.
"You...you... you're a G.o.dd.a.m.n psychopath!" Although Daniel knew that such an injury would not kill Armand, it was completely crazy for him that Marcus had so easily broken his brother's neck.
"You better worry about yourself, Mr. Anderson," Marcus looked at Rick, "Didn't I warn you, Richard, that if you disobey me again, you will pay for it. I ordered you to introduce chips into the girl and her mother, but what did you do? You stuffed them into yourself, knowing full well the consequences of such an act. Thought I won't notice?"
Rick's eyes were filling with blood more and more, in his mind there was only one desire - to kill this man.
Marcus felt a slight tingling in his neck, a smile pulled up at the corners of his lips, "Oh, it seems that Simon has changed the direction of the chips. Wow, it's just about the time."
Rick remembered that Simon agreed to activate his chip only for half an hour, after which he would again be under the control of Marcus. "I no longer obey you," the man growled, his palms clenched in tight fists.
Marcus frowned, this idiot was getting out of control. What a problematic person.
"You are saying you don't obey me anymore? You seem to have forgotten what your chip is programmed for. And if I activate all three that are in your body now, will you be able to resist them all?"
A cold s.h.i.+ver ran through Rick's body; he forgot this small but significant detail. If he disobeys Marcus, then this automatically activates a program whereby Rick must kill the one he wants to protect. The man looked at a little girl lying nearby, and he was seized by horror.
"No, you will not do it..."
"I told you I don't warn twice," Marcus waved his hand, and Rick felt his body begin to cramp, red spots in front of his eyes were covered with white spots. He knew that feeling.
Marcus repeatedly erased his memory, and this was the beginning of this procedure, and if Rick somehow learned to resist one chip, then being under the influence of three at once, it was impossible.
"Agggghh," growled the man, his mind faded, he realized that he was beginning to lose touch with reality.
Marcus looked at Rick with irritation, this guy gave him trouble with his disobedience, for which he now had to be punished. "I am your Master, can you hear me?"
Rick rose from his knees, his head bowed in complete submission, "Yes, Master."
Marcus carefully examined the look of the man, he already understood that this guy learned to pretend at the highest level. He looked at the little girl, and then at Daniel.
"I, your Master, command you," Marcus raised his hand, and Daniel tensed. He realized that now the situation was definitely c.r.a.ppy since this crazy man showed a finger in his direction.
"Kill him," Marcus voiced his order, and Rick turned around, his empty gaze focused on the man standing nearby.
"I obey."
