"Where are you going?" Her father noticed that the girl had suddenly become very serious.
"Dad, I have to go somewhere. It won't take me long."
"Where are you going? It's dark outside already. Wait... You weren't going to meet with this David, were you?"
Elena turned her head and smiled, "Don't worry. I just want to go to the park and run a little. The information you told made me feel a little confused. I need to collect my thoughts together."
"Do you want to run in the park? At 1 A.M.? I am not sure if this is a wise decision."
"Dad, please. It won't take me long."
"Okay. Just be careful."
"I promise."
Elena approached her father who was sitting at the table, kissed him on the cheek and left his office.
Having hastily dressed in a tracksuit and put a cap on her head, she took the car keys and went down to the garage. She drove well, although she has never been into cars at all, the new BMW i8 Roadster, which her father recently bought, charmed the girl with its outlook.
Having sat down in a comfortable car seat, the girl started the engine and drove onto the road.
Dialing a phone number on display, she pressed the call b.u.t.ton and listened to the beeps. After two minutes, there was still no answer. Elena redialed the number, but there was silence in response.
The girl stopped at a traffic light. The navigator showed that the distance to David's house was about 500 meters. 'What am I doing...,' Elena sighed, turned the car around and drove in the opposite direction.
When she reached the park, she parked the car and walked toward her favorite race track. The girl often ran at night. At this time, the park was quiet, the air was fresh, and nothing distracted her from her thoughts if she wanted to think about something alone.
This was especially important for her lately when outsiders began to recognize her on the street. And all thanks to the fact that her father constantly dragged her along for various events.
The girl stood on the track and stretched. Suddenly, not far from herself she heard strange screams. "Darn… ." Elena wanted to ignore the noise, but the thought that someone might be in trouble made her change her mind.
She went towards the voices. That's right. As she thought, it was an ordinary fight. The only thing that was disturbing was the fact that three men were beating one and the latter was noticeably weaker and smaller than them.
'Really is that some kind of schoolboy?' Elena wanted to get a better look, but it was too dark.
'So, I don't need any problems and unnecessary attention now,' the girl took a mobile phone out of her pocket, found the right melody in the browser, turned on the volume at full power and pressed the play b.u.t.ton.
The silence of the park was instantly broken by the loud hum of a police siren. The men who were beating the guy stopped right there and began to look around. "d.a.m.n, the cops are nearby! Let's get out!" One of them shouted, and they hurriedly left the crime scene.
"Wow, I didn't expect it to work," Elena turned off the sound of the siren on the phone and went in the direction of the guy lying on the pavement.
"Hey, are you all right? Are you still in one piece?" The girl squatted near him and shook him by the shoulder.
"Mmm," the guy groaned in pain. "d.a.m.n, those b.a.s.t.a.r.ds. I will bury them alive when I find them," the young man swore and began to stand on his feet slowly.
"Come on; Let me at least bring you to the bench. We need to see if there are any serious injuries," Elena replied and led the guy by his arm to the nearest bench.
"Raise your head; I will look at the light if everything is all right."
The young man obediently raised his head and looked at Elena. As soon as the light from the lantern fell on his face, they both froze and looked at each other with wide eyes.
None of them expected such a meeting.
