"Do you think he will be happy if I tell him?" The girl looked at Elena with joy, or with sadness. Elena patted her on the head and hugged her back, "I will always support you, no matter how he responds. But I think he will be glad."
Elena preferred to lie than tell the truth. In fact, she doubted that this man's heart would be able to quiver from such news.
Tears appeared in Corey's eyes, "I will be thanking G.o.d all my life that I have a friend like you. Even now, you support me, although everything should be the other way around. Please forgive me."
"You silly, what are you sorry for?" Elena smiled and pinched Corey on the cheek, "I am also glad that I have you."
Corey giggled, and suddenly became serious, "Elena, you know..."
"Girls, you'd better hurry!" Rick's voice from behind the door interrupted their conversation, "They announced boarding, we have to be fast."
"Yes, let's go!" Corey shouted, hugged Elena and walked forward. She grabbed Rick's arm and dragged him to the entrance. In the blink of an eye, they have already handed over their tickets and went on board. The girl had no choice but to follow them.
"Elena..."
The girl froze on the spot and turned around. She began to search with her eyes but found no one. Her heart pounded wildly. It was definitely the voice of David, but apparently, it was just the games of her own mind.
She sighed and went on board. But his unexpected voice in her head helped her to calm down. Elena believed that he would come to help her.
. . .
David watched as Elena's plane picked up speed and took off. He glanced at his watch and checked the time.
"Coffee?" The man on the right handed him a gla.s.s of hot coffee. David silently took the gla.s.s in his hands and took a few sips. "Are you sure about your vision? Is this the best one possible?"
"Boy, when was your elder brother wrong? Believe me, of all the worst options, this one is the best," Daniel smiled and winked.
"Are you sure your jaw is ready to smile so carelessly? Can I fix it some more?" David looked at his older brother with irritation.
Daniel made a face full of pain and resentment, "I apologized and explained everything. How long will you remain in sulk with me?"
"Apologized? Do you have any idea how many worries you threw at me with your reckless act? How did you even think of giving up shares to Rick?" David began to scold the elder Anderson as if the latter was a guilty child.
"Well, first of all, I was sure that you would settle this situation somehow. And secondly," Daniel threw his arm on David's shoulder and added with a contented smile, "Weren't the doc.u.ments I received from Rick worth such a sacrifice?"
David sighed and threw off his older brother's arm. He could not argue with his last statement. When the young man looked through those files, even he was very surprised.
"Anyway, when it's all over, you'll ask Elena for the apology," David replied.
"No problem," Daniel agreed immediately.
"On your knees…"
"Ummm...," the elder Anderson scratched his head and sighed, "Well, what can you not do for a younger brother." He glanced at David, took a handkerchief from his pocket and held it out to him,
"Your nose is bleeding."
David put his hand to his nose, and the red drops appeared on his skin. He took the handkerchief from Daniel's hands and wiped the blood.
"When did you sleep last time?" his older brother asked.
"Three days ago," David replied as if it was an ordinary thing.
Daniel grabbed his head, "Do you even understand what you are doing? If your sweetheart finds out about this..." David cast a sizzling glance at his brother. "Okay, okay, I got it. I am shutting up." The elder Anderson knew it better than anyone else that arguing with David was a useless thing.
"Attention. Boarding begins on the flight New York - Berlin. Please proceed to the gate number 35 for boarding," an announcement came from the speakers.
"Come on. Now it's our turn to take off," David said and went in the direction of the designated gate. Daniel sighed and lazily dragged after his younger brother.
