She Will Be Mine 18 Chapter 18

"Ahhhh no it's too early," growled Saya as she snoozed her alarm for the third time this morning.

After Haru's call last night she immediately fell asleep as instructed. She slept in the office having no energy left to return to the house. It was a good thing she thought ahead and brought clothes and personal items with her. From experience, Saya figured she would be like her parents, spending restless nights in the office working on cases so she came prepared.

Shaking the sleepiness away, Saya slowly made her way into the bathroom to get ready for school. She sighed heavily, knowing she didn't have time for breakfast, not even enough time for a cup of coffee. Today looked a little cloudy so Saya dressed in dark skinny jeans and a long sleeve black s.h.i.+rt with an attached hoodie.

After getting dressed Saya made her way back to the house, her still sleepy body sluggish. How she cursed her father for getting rid of the golf carts during his health and fit craze. She was surprised her mother even allowed her father to get rid of them when she was as lazy as Saya. That was until one day she caught her father giving her mother a piggy back ride from the house to the office. It was then that Saya understood why her mother never objected to getting rid of the golf carts. Her mother probably only uttered a short

"I'm tired", and her father more likely, very happily offered his services. "Darn my stupidly in love father. Why get rid of the golf carts when you know your gonna end up giving in to mom's demands anyways", Saya muttered to herself.

She hurried her pace reluctantly and in no time made her way to the front of the garage. Saya wasn't as surprised as yesterday to find Haru waiting for her. To be honest, Saya was more surprised with her body's reaction to being in the same vicinity as Haru. They'd always been a very pa.s.sionate couple but she thought two years would have at least dampen her l.u.s.t for him, instead it seemed to have festered to an almost unbearable degree. She couldn't stop the thrill building from deep inside her from seeing Haru's lean form lazily leaning against the wall. The plain fitted black s.h.i.+rt he commonly wore accentuated the hard earned muscles, built from years of swimming. His tall frame hovered over her pet.i.te body in a dominating manner, and she wasn't sure if she wanted him to conquer her or if she wanted to do the conquering.

"I personally upgraded the security system. I would have gotten an alert if the system was hacked so how the h.e.l.l do you keep getting in? Oh G.o.d, please don't tell me you saved my fingerprints and made silicone prints to bypa.s.s the gates security access," Saya said sarcastically.

Saya waited for Haru to rebuke her preposterous suggestion. The awkward silence continued and Saya's widened eyes bored into Haru's calm ones intently as if hoping for him to deny her claims. But Haru only gave her a nonchalant shrug and a small smirk.

"Haru! Are you fricken serious?! What the h.e.l.l! You are bonafide crazy. How could you?", Saya shrieked.

"Allow me access and I'll get rid of my prints," he replied.

"Your prints?! Don't you mean mine!"

Haru straightened his body and with a couple steps closed the gap between them. His tall frame and powerful aura instantly enveloped Saya. She strained her neck to meet his eyes and for an instant she almost forgot how to breath as the burning desire in his eyes overtook her senses. "Your too close," Saya whispered lowering her eyes but not making an effort to step away.

"Not close enough", Haru murmured softly. His silky voice and hot breath sent chills down Saya's back and a smoldering heat began to spread throughout her body. But before Saya could comprehend what was happening, Haru took several steps back away from Saya.

"Let's go my driver is waiting outside the gate," Haru said, his voice as calm as still water.

Saya was dumbfounded and a little irritated, maybe even a little disappointed. She really thought Haru was going to make a move on her. She didn't expect for him to move away so quickly after fanning her flames. 'How dare he!! Oh sh*t, what the h*ll Saya. Are you really disappointed he didn't make a move on you? What happened to staying away and now your here hoping he'll kiss you?! No girl, get sh*t together!' Saya thought furiously.

"Oh wait a minute, what do you mean lets go. And what about your driver? I have my own car and I can drive to campus on my own fine, thank you very much!"

"My car's safer and my driver has been certified in emergency driving. He went through the same emergency vehicle operator training police officers do," Haru said.

"You know my parents cars are safe Haru," Saya replied. While their cars seem average to normal citizens, they were customized with bulletproof gla.s.s, tires, and body. The cars were also equipped with a smart AI personally developed by Katherine that could detect crashes or damages and directly alert the proper authorities with the vehicle's location.

"They haven't been updated since two years ago. My cars are up to date with the latest and best safety measures money can buy. If you want to meet the lead detective for the a.s.sault cases then we'll use my car."

"You can't keep threatening me with that!"

"Yes I can. I put a gag order on the whole North Star Police Department. No one is allowed to talk to you without my say so."

"That is an abuse of your family's power!" Saya accused. She stared daggers into Haru's perpetually calm and confident eyes. With his family's background Saya has no doubts about his threats. Without his say so she'll never get anything out of the police men and women in NSPD. She might be able to hack into the police department's system to get case information but she knows that there are some things she can only learn face to face.

Making up her mind and knowing when she was defeated, Saya walked past Haru towards the front gate, muttering softly, "Fine you win you b.a.s.t.a.r.d." Haru ignored the b.a.s.t.a.r.d part, happy that he won this round. He walked a few steps behind her but quickly hurried when they reached the car to open the door for her.

Saya made some incoherent sounds, seemingly unhappy with Haru's gentlemanly actions. She took a seat in the far corner of the huge SUV trying to put as much s.p.a.ce between her and Haru. But her plan was in vain as Haru scooted closer. So close in fact that they were knocking elbows and feeling each other's body heat.

"Excuse you, there's more room over there!" Saya exclaimed pointing to the other end of the back seat.

"But I like the middle seat," he explained. It was a weak excuse and an obvious lie and they both knew it.

"Move Haru!"

"I could move. But then I probably won't feel like sharing those delicious donuts and coffee from Isles Coffee Shop I have in the front seat," he said teasingly.

"Donuts you say….coffee…", Saya muttered weakly.

"Yes mother I been taking those vitamins you and daddy sent….."

"Yes, yes, everyday. I have been taking them everyday, jeez mom…..okay love you too bye."

The young master held the phone in place listening to the dial tone while staring blankly into s.p.a.ce.

"Here lemme put that back for you young master," said the old butler. He grabbed the phone and put it back in its cradle. He stood silently next to the young master, his hands grasping each other tightly in antic.i.p.ation.

The old butler heaved a sigh of relief as he watched the blank expression on his young master's face disappear and be replaced with a sweet and joyful expression.

"Please get my things ready. I have to go to."

"Of course, right away," the butler replied.
