Xia Xingcheng didn't know how to answer this question but slightly pressed her lips in and turned to Sheng Yeting.

She didn't expect it but Sheng Yeting bent over to pick Bao up without hesitation, held him in his arms and then reached out his hand to stroke Xingcheng's cheeks smilingly. "Didn't we agree to attend the ceremony together? How come you came first without me?"

His fingers touching her cheeks felt as if they were on fire, licking and burning her skin. Xia Xingcheng blushed and turned away subconsciously, and for a while she was unable to speak a word.

Sheng Yeting didn't seem to mind it but glanced aside, and his gaze pa.s.sed over Su Haisheng who had lost his composure completely. Su Haisheng was so frightened by Sheng Yeting's glance that he immediately nodded and bowed to apologize. "I am so blind that I did not know Miss Xia is with Mr. Sheng. I'll leave first, excuse me, excuse me." He was all in a fl.u.s.ter, and after he said this he left the hall in a hurry without waiting for Mr. Xia's response.

"I didn't," Sheng Yeling sneered, pulled her wrist and whispered in her ear. "But for you, such an ungrateful little thing, I have to get even with you, don't I?"

When he spoke to her, he purposely leaned close to Xia Xingcheng's ear and his breathing was amorous and ambiguous. Xia Xingcheng recognized that he had meant for the incident with the 100 yuan note to occur. She still felt a little uneasy, so she retreated from him. She did not expect that he was a man who actually bore grudges, but his helping her was also for the sake of getting even with her someday. She was a little slow to regain her senses, so she came up and s.n.a.t.c.hed Bao back and then kept some distance away from him watching him in alert.
