"How was Frankfurt?" Shao Yan asked when they were inside the elevator.

After pressing the b.u.t.ton for Li Xiqing's office, Karl had both hands inside his dress pants pocket. He did not stand too far, and not too close either. He respected Shao Yan as his good sister anyway, and not as a stranger.

"Very good. The office runs well as usual. I got to know Axel Chen when I was there, and that was how I introduced him to AG International," he turned his head to face Shao Yan, "Ah that reminds me, I have to apologize to you."

"Because of that, Daniel and Martin are so occupied now. L Corporation just swallowed all of their time." He showed a very guilty look and smiled helplessly, "But rest a.s.sured, that is also the reason I am back in the country. I need to help them too."

Shao Yan returned his smile, "Don't worry, I am also busy myself. Let me tell you a secret," she lowered down her voice purposely, as if she was about to tell Karl a very guarded information.

"I am in charge of Gold Crane New Year celebration!" she said giddily at him.

His eyes slowly lit up and widened in surprise, "Whoa! That's a good news! Congratulations!"

Shao Yan tilted her head slightly down, while smiling embarra.s.singly, "Thank you. I have been learning a lot lately." She lifted her face up, and beamed at Karl, "I think I got myself a mentor."

Shao Yan put on arm in front of her to support a hand that was stroking her chin, "Although I think I p.i.s.sed her off many many times with my stubbornness. Her words are rude and harsh, but I can feel that she is actually guiding me all the time."

The elevator suddenly stopped, and the door opened. Karl extended his hand to show Shao Yan to walk first in front of him, "After you."

They walked together to the office lobby, and Karl tapped his own badge to open the gla.s.s door. This was the a.s.signed floor for all the executives, including Li Xiqing. There was no receptionist to welcome any guests, as it was expected that all employees that sat on this floor already had their own badge to tap in.

Karl held the door opened for Shao Yan, and she walked inside. She had visited this office a couple of times, and Li Xiqing even offered to make her own badge so she could come in anytime. But Shao Yan stubbornly refused him. She wanted to respect all the other employees, and she did not mind to be treated as another normal guest.

"Daniel should be in his office, I'll walk with you there," Karl was still smiling while looking at Shao Yan. She nodded, "I know where his office is. I am sure you're busy, I can go by myself, Karl."

Karl chuckled softly, "Don't worry, my office is just next to his. It's on the way," he shrugged and then they kept walking along the brightly lit office lobby.

When they arrived in front of Li Xiqing's office, Karl lifted up one hand to give a courtesy knock on the door to notify their presence. He opened the door right away without waiting for Daniel to answer.

Right when the door was opened, Karl and Shao Yan saw that a woman had both of her arms wrapped around Li Xiqing on his shoulder with her body stood so close in front of him. Her face was leaning so close to his chin, as if she was trying to kiss him.

Upon hearing the noise behind them, the woman slowly turned around and when she saw Shao Yan, she gave a smirk, before slowly let go off both of her arms and her fingers twirled around her ponytail.

"Oh! Look who we have here!" she said with a very seductive voice.

Li Xiqing had been stuck in a meeting with US office since morning to catch their business time. He had just sat down on his chair, when the receptionist dialed his phone, "Mr. Li, there is someone by the name of Risa Yamaguchi here to see you."

Li Xiqing slowly scrunched his eyebrow, and replied right away, "I don't have any appointment with anyone today. If she needs to talk to me, let her schedule something. But make it next week, and not today."

He was about to hang up, when the phone seemed to change hand, and another voice rang through the receiver, "Daniel, you may want to talk to me, since this is about Yan Yan." And once she said that, she hung up the phone right away.

Li Xiqing scowled even deeper as he did not like being baited like this. But anything related to his Yan Yan, always meant to be his priority.

He took a deep breath and slowly pinched his thumb and index fingers on the bridge of his nose and then he softly sighed. He paused to think for a while, before he picked up his mobile phone and texted Karl, 'Come over right now'.

Few minutes later, he received a reply 'On my way. Five minutes'. And after he read that, Li Xiqing picked up his desk phone and dialed the front desk.

When the receptionist answered on the first ring, Li Xiqing quickly said, "You can bring Miss Yamaguchi to my office." Miss receptionist acknowledged his order right away, and then he hung up the phone.

Risa strode into his office with highlighted confidence. Her eyes scanned around the room admiring and also talking all the details in.

"Not bad, Daniel, really good taste!" she looked at the man who was standing in front of his desk, leaning against the table with his arms crossed in front of his chest.

She let out a small smile, and put down a paper bag on the sofa. "Just that, your taste in women is not as good as your taste in interior design." Risa sashayed towards him, flaunting her tall figure and voluptuous body.

"I am here to offer you the partners.h.i.+p of a lifetime." Risa ran her index fingers on his lapel, but before her fingertips went downwards, Li Xiqing caught her wrist and kept a distance from her.

"Stop this nonsense. You're here about Yan Yan. What is it?"
