I Deserve A Second Chance Chapter 13 - With The Wind

It's a bright stadium area. It's so huge and so lively. Shao Yan was still in the car and they were still quite far from the track, but she could already hear the revving noise.

From here, she could see the bright lights and the high poles surrounding the stadium.

A lot of cars and also motorbikes were parked in the surrounding area. Li Xiqing looked for available spot and parked as well.

The barren muddy land that he was talking about, now had transformed to a developed and highly advanced facility.

The road pavement was properly leveled and there was separated area for people to enter after they had parked their cars.

There was no ticketing system, no parking payment machines, everything was available for everyone to use freely.

But it was unwritten rule that the area could only be used by familiar faces only and that's how everyone know each other and they became a big family.

Li Xiqing brought Shao Yan to explore around. He explained that Bo and some friends helped to manage the overall movement to develop the area.

The kids that he grew up with, would also contribute by transferring some money to Bo. Including Li Xiqing.

Therefore everyone felt that this was their own place. Their second home.

When Shao Yan entered the area, she could see the viewing and the actual track were separated by tall wire fences.

Li Xiqing would greeted some people and talked for a while, but he also mentioned to her that there were new faces as well.

Shao Yan was introduced to his friends as well. They walked around for a while before finally found a spot to stand while waiting for Bo and Polo to show up.

Some people inside the track were already racing around playfully. the karts were decorated in many colors that mirror the owner's personality.

After a while, Li Xiqing pointed to a red and yellow kart who just entered the stadium and stopped in front of them.

Bo stepped out in full uniform and wore a helmet. He gave them his signature arms-flaying-around wave. Polo also entered slowly after him. Her kart was painted in blazing red with some graphics resembling fire flames. Her suit was also flaming red.

The race was not limited to just both of them. There were six more people partic.i.p.ated with them.

Li Xiqing told her to stay put, while he stepped away for a while. She was looking around curiously at this new environment, studying everything.

Not long, he came back with two cups of soda and handed one to her. Because of the noise, he could only talked directly to her ears, "I couldn't find anything warm. I got this in case you're thirsty."

She could feel her ear tip turned warm, and she quickly nodded and said her thanks. They returned their attention to the group inside the track who were now getting ready to race.

The race started on time at 8.

Karts started to lined up on one side. Their friends or supporter stood nearby to cheer on them.

Few ladies bringing flags started to walk to the front of the karts. They cheered on them like highschool's cheerleader, before walking out again.

A man standing on the side was the one with the actual flag starter. He waved the flag to signal the start of the race.

Karts slowly inched away from each other before took on more speed. The karts snaked along behind each other before separated and tried to overtake each other.

The race would be for five laps. Everyone was all cheering for their racer. Loud screaming and also shouts were thrown at them to support them. Some people even went as far as slapping the fence when their racer drove past them.

The atmosphere was really exciting! Shao Yan was confused at first, but slowly she was drifted along the crowd and started cheering when Polo or Bo overtook another racer.

Li Xiqing was just looking at Shao Yan with his arms crossed in front of him. He had tinted on amus.e.m.e.nt in his eyes, looking at her warmly.

Finally the race ended, with Polo won the race for tonight. She was so excited and spontaneously grabbed Li Xiqing's arm and cheered with him.

Shao Yan suddenly realized what she had done and quickly let go. Li Xiqing just smiled and patted her back, "I'm glad you're having fun!"

Shao Yan was so embarra.s.sed, she just gave a small smile. Her face flushed red because of the excitement and also because of him. But after all, this was an amazing Sat.u.r.day for her!

The crowd went more wild after the race ended. Li Xiqing took his and her cups and threw them away, before walking back and took her hands with him.

"Let's go and meet the winner." he dragged Shao Yan along with him, while also watching her steps, afraid that she would b.u.mped into anything.

Shao Yan let him hold her because the crowd was so packed and they were trying to find a way out of there.

They quickly found Polo and Bo. Bo asked them to walk to the other side, he then opened the fence and let them into the track.

Shao Yan approached Polo and congratulated her. Bo was sulking on the side, "That last turn should have been mine! I've accelerated but you just had to turn without slowing down at all?! How crazy are you, sis!!"

Shao Yan was surprised. She would have never thought that they were actually siblings. She gave a questioning look at Li Xiqing, who quickly understood her and nodded as acknowledgement.

Polo gave him side eye, and said, "No risk no gain" and then she walked away. She went to the record timer to check her stats and chatted with some people over there.

Shao Yan tried to relieve the tension and asked him carefully "So.. what is the prize for the winner anyway?"

Bo perked up again and replied her with full of anguish, "Two vouchers for the water park~!! That should have been mine! I wanted to take my girlfriend there!" He threw disdainful look at his sister again.

The night was not young anymore. But the crowd did not disperse at all.

Bo and Polo asked them to stay for supper, but Li Xiqing refused.

"Next time. It's getting late and I still have to put in the car battery and tested it" Li Xiqing was about to say more before Bo interrupted him.

"Don't forget your promise to race with us next time, Bro. I will let you know when." he quickly patted Li Xiqing's shoulder and then turned to Shao Yan.

"I hope you will also come that day and cheer for him!" Bo grinned happily at the couple.

Li Xiqing and Shao Yan walked back to their car and left the stadium.
