I Deserve A Second Chance Chapter 27 - Late For Meeting!

It was a big conference room which had taken the s.p.a.ce of the whole floor 59, just right under the President's office. This meeting room was purposely set up for a meeting that would have to involve attendance of the whole company.

The meeting room was surrounded by clear gla.s.ses all around the sides. It was equiped with the best presentation system, as Gold Crane needed to do a lot of demo and presentation during product launch.

Wenhai and Lee Ying were already seated inside. Both of them already busy looking for them, they kept messaging or calling to check where they were.

When the three of them finally reached the meeting room, they saw that all the doors were already closed.

They decided to sneak in from the side door to avoid any unnecessary attention.

The meeting room was divided into three sections;, left, middle and right wings. With about 30 rows and 20 seats per row for each wings.

Wenhai and Lee Ying were seated on the left wing, ten rows from the front, and they had reserved few seats for the three of them.

Fan jie decided to go in first. And then Shao Yan would go in after that. The last one to enter would be Huo ge.

After Shao Yan saw Fan jie disappeared through the door, she waited for a few minutes before she entered as well.

Shao Yan looked for the seats that they were telling her about. She felt awkward and guilty as people around them were already looking at them because they were late.

The room was dimmed to enable focus on the stage.

Shao Yan finally found her team and she quickly sat down.

Soon, Huo ge also came in and joined them.

The meeting had already started.

On the stage, there were six chairs arranged in a panel setting. These were for the executives to sit on.

And on the audience front seats in the middle wing, Shao Yan could see some foreigners were sitting together with the executives. She was guessing that their presence here had something to do with this meeting today.

The President and Vice President had sat on the middle of the stage and were discussing about earnings and expenses from last quarter.

There were still few seats left empty on each of their sides.

The Vice President, Zhuang Huifu, presented Gold Crane earning from last quarter. And how their earning compared from this year and last year for the same quarter period.

"Next on the agenda is probably the most exciting part that I wanted to share with everyone here.", Gold Crane President, Huang Junjie, took over the discussion now.

President Huang continued, "For the next three quarters, Gold Crane will be very busy."

He paused.

"For the past year, VP Zhuang and myself had actually had been working with our branch office in country U on something big." he was glowing with excitement, he stood up and started to walk around, seemed like he couldn't contained the feelings anymore.

"Today I presented to you: Gold Crane have officially acquired OnScience Publications!"

President Huang tried so hard to sound calm. But his high tone at the end betrayed him.

The crowd went silent.

Before they went wild.

Whoa!! This was big news!

OnScience Publications was the leading publis.h.i.+ng company focusing on science fiction and fantasy. They were THE number one player in the industry and always had the best selling books.

All the followers were so loyal, they looked more like a cult. They would blindly supported whatever books that OnScience published. Because the books always turned out to be captivating.

Many employees in Gold Crane were actually huge fans of their publications.

So this news about Gold Crane acquiring OnScience was a huge deal for all of them.

President Huang purposely stayed silent for a while to let the crowd drowned in their excitement.

After a while, President Huang said, "This news will be officially released today. When all of you were sitting here with me right now, the news just hit the press."

Everyone, including Shao Yan, took out their phone and logged in to social media. True enough, their company name was now the number one trending topic on social media.

"Yan jie, our President is so cool!" Lee Ying was so excited, she kept shaking Shao Yan's arm every now and then.

Wenhai tried to stay calm but he started chattering excitedly after a while. "We are going bigger, Boss!"

Shao Yan was so surprised! Gold Crane was already doing very well in this country.

With OnScience now, they could go far!

President Huang cleared his throat, and the crowd quickly resumed their order.

"The deal was finalized three months ago. You may have seen few new faces around the company lately. They were representatives from the experts of the expert. They're a consulting company that Gold Crane had hired to helped us with this acquisition."

"They will come up here in a while to explain more of what you should expect to happen in the next few months"

President Huang paused before continuing, "But don't worry and don't panic. Our value will still be gold, as precious as gold crane."

And then he laughed at his own cold jokes.

But the audiences were in high spirits, no one even noticed it and they laughed along with him and started cheering loudly.

President Huang just stood in the middle for a while basking in glory.

After a few moment, he raised his hand to calm the crowd.

"Now, please welcome, AG International!" and then he extended his palm to his left side to welcome them to the stage before going back to his seat.

Slowly three shadows walked to the stage.

The stage lights started to focus on them.

Three people started to enter everyone's view walking on the stage towards President Huang and VP Zhuang.

The leading person was a tall asian man, with two other tall men followed closely after.

Shao Yan stiffened up and grabbed her phone tighter.

Gasps and murmurs soon started to spread around the room.

They walked steadily on the stage towards President Huang and VP Zhuang.

President Huang and VP Zhuang both had risen up from their seats and shook hands with all the gentlemen.

President Huang pa.s.sed on the microphone to the first man who took it and started to introduce themselves.

"h.e.l.lo everyone. My name is Daniel Li."

Shao Yan dropped her phone to the floor.
