I Deserve A Second Chance Chapter 3 - So Tiny!

"Your double espresso, Sir!", the waiter placed the cup of coffee in front of him while flas.h.i.+ng coquettish smile. He was typing away on his phone while saying "Mm thank you." The server's smile froze and she walked away.

Tsk! Just a polite thank you. But even so, the server blushed real hard and started gossiping with her coworker.

"He is so good looking. I got to see him up close, his jaw oh so chiseled! He looked so elegant when he put his hand to support his chin. And he smelled so good too! Oh so masculine! When he was thinking, his cute brow just came up together, even that is also so handsome!"

Her friend also joined in, "Those long legs!! Did you see those long legs!! Dayumm! Why so serious, cute guy? Two beauties here available for you!" And then they bursted out laughing happily.

Li Xiqing couldn't be bother by their shrieks and giggles. He wasn't even listening. He was texting his team in Germany, and at the same time, talking to another team based in j.a.pan. He needed to a.s.sign some items to them because he knew he would be occupied with Gold Crane for this month.

He had been working since early morning, and had lost count of how many cups of coffee he had had. After he finished his last text, he looked up, just in time to see her looking around trying to find him.

"Mr. Li, the company in Tokyo will be ready in May, just in time for the Golden Week holiday surprise." his team member, Tanaka Hideo reported to him in j.a.panese, "The acquisition will be finalized in April and then we can close the deal in May. We should be done by June and we can leave the country right away.", he concluded.

Li Xiqing just gave a firm acknowledgement and he was about to say something when she finally saw him.

They were looking at each other right now. He could see doubt in her eyes. She tore her eyes away and looked left and right again to make sure there's only one possibility. It's not even lunch time yet, so he was the only one sitting in the cafe. There should not be a mistake.

He thought she looked different than this morning but he couldn't figure it out. He kept thinking about it and finally he realized. Oh, she tied her hair up. This made her snowy neck more prominent.

She wore a semi-casual collared cotton green dress which fall right on her knee. Accented with slim gold belt on her high waist, she looked elegant.

The pleated at the bottom fell gracefully as she walked closer and then you could see dust of gold flakes in between the cloth as she moved.

Dark green would have made her looked dull, but the gold dust gave her a lively feeling.

Not gaudy, and at the same time, not boring.

Hmm really interesting.

She approached him hesitantly.

Tanaksan was still waiting for his boss's instruction, "Boss, are you still there? Are you good with this schedule?".

Li Xiqing was brought back from his pondering "Let's do it this way. Email me the whole plan by tomorrow." and he ended the call right when she was standing in front of him.

He slowly put away his wireless Bluetooth.

He was waiting for her to say something. He looked amused as he could still felt that she was not sure if he was the one she b.u.mped into this morning.

"I'm sorry to bother you, are you the one I spilled coffee to this morning?", she asked hesitantly. He smiled and stood up.

He then gestured his left side jacket that showed splashed of coffee which also has dripped to some parts of his pants.

She look embarra.s.sed and quickly said, "I'm sorry. I was rus.h.i.+ng for an important meeting this morning." She opened her phone casing compartment and took out a name card, "This is my contact. Please send your laundry bill to me, I will definitely pay you back. This is my badge, as you can see, the name match, so I'm not lying to you."She flashed her badge for him to see before took it away and signaled the waiter.

So her name was Shao Yan. And she wasn't asking for his name. She didn't need to know his? Hmm. This was the first time.

He played around with her card on his fingertips. He sat back down and waited to see what she would do next.

The waiters argued with each other to see who should serve the table. The one who commented on his long legs won the argument and quickly approached them while tidying her loose hair and wearing her ever best smile.

But to her disappointment, he was not even looking at her, he was looking intensely at this green dress woman.

"Excuse me, can you put his bill into my card, please." she handed over her credit card and added, "also, please add one chamomile tea to go, thank you."

He was scrutinizing her now. She had really small face. You wouldn't call her gorgeous, but she was not ugly. Even though it's only a polite smile, she already looked pretty. He was wondering how she would looked like if she gave a genuine happy smile.

After placing her order, she looked back at him. He didn't show any change of expression even though he was surprised by her sudden turn.

She was looking at his table where his laptop and phone were placed and decided he must be busy, "I will not disturb you any longer, I just wanted to let you know I didn't mean to b.u.mp into you. I'm glad that you're willing to wait for me even though you're clearly busy."

Before she stood up to leave, she heard him say, "Unfortunately," he paused for a while and then continued, "I have an urgent meeting this afternoon." He casually leaned back to his seat and lazily said, "So I can't send this suit to laundry, and I may have to buy another one right away."

She paused and looked confused now. She didn't expect this at all. She was contemplating on what she should do, when he suddenly stood up and put his laptop into his bag and said, "There's a shopping mall next door. Let's go.".

Before she replied him, he was already walking to the counter to take her cup of tea and turned around to look at her to show that he would be waiting patiently.

She was stunned for a while, before she followed him.
