I Deserve A Second Chance Chapter 40 - Scoundrel Li Xiqing!

Dating life for Shao Yan this time could be categorized as 'calm and peaceful'.

When Shao Yan was dating Liwei, it was about campus life. Both of them would be hanging out with friends. They would kissed around the campus area. They would sometimes skipped cla.s.ses and played arcades. She would go with him to the basketball court to watch him play.

However this time was different.

Dating Li Xiqing was different.

Both of them were busy. But Li Xiqing was exceptionally clingy. Shao Yan didn't realize how clingy he was until now.

They had been together for almost a week now. Ever since they got together, Li Xiqing started to gradually change her lifestyle. Starting from breakfast.

Li Xiqing would pick up Shao Yan in the morning with breakfast. Shao Yan was not used to having breakfast before. But now, she would be excited everytime he brought it for her. Li Xiqing would always pick something different every morning.

In the office during the day, they would be busy with their own work. If he had time, or when she was free, they would have lunch together.

After they decided to be together, Li Xiqing no longer hesitant in approaching her in the public. He quickly claimed his rights to let people know that Shao Yan was his. Almost everyone in the office knew about their relations.h.i.+p now.

Shao Yan was still reluctant to hold his hand when her co-workers were around. So he could only be satisfied with walking by her side.

He would sometimes hold her waist but Shao Yan would stiffened up right away. Li Xiqing just smiled at this. She had to get used to it sooner or later. Luckily, he was really patient with her.

Another thing that was changed in Shao Yan's life was dinner time.

Dinner was a must.

Shao Yan who always skipped dinner was really not used to this.

Li Xiqing always made sure that they had dinner together. According to his logic, "We are both so busy. I got to see you in the morning, but it's not enough. We have to have one proper meal together everyday. So you choose, lunch or dinner?"

Since his job was not only tied with Gold Crane, and sometimes Shao Yan would have to run around in the afternoon, Li Xiqing was right.

They would be meeting less and less. And then before she knew it, history would be repeated again. She didn't want that. So Shao Yan reluctantly replied 'dinner'.

Shao Yan was not a good cook. The first time she cooked for him, she spent almost two hours just for the preparation. She was really not used to cooking.

Li Xiqing felt his heart ached. She was already tired from working and running around the whole day and still had to spend two hours for cooking?

Eating takeouts or eating outside every night was also not an option since it was not healthy.

Li Xiqing then decided to take this matter to his own hand. They would be eating at his place and he would cook.

Li Xiqing was not a chef, but he firmly believed that he was better than Shao Yan at the least.

After they left the office, they decided to go to supermarket to buy some ingredients and then went to his place.

His apartment was at L development, about ten minutes from her place.

His unit was on floor 23. The area was more recent than hers. He was living in a two bedroom unit by himself.

When Shao Yan entered the house, the first thing she saw was a very clean and simple arrangements. If her color scheme was mostly white and gold; his color scheme was more masculine with dark brown, dark silver and white.

"The floor is cold. You wear this for now. I will get your slippers next time" he put his slippers next to her feet.

Li Xiqing entered and then took off his jacket and put it on the beige leather sofa. He rolled up his sleeves.

"Let me show you around" he smiled and then grab her hand.

"That was my room, and this is the common bathroom." he walked around with her, "This one right here was another bedroom, but I converted it to an office."

"My elder sister used to stay in this apartment before she got married last year. So don't misunderstand me when you saw her stuff in the office room." he looked back at Shao Yan who was now looking around the office area.

Shao Yan looked at him, "Oh. Is there any other siblings you have?" He smiled, "No, just me and my elder sister".

"When we knew she was getting married, and I had decided to come back, she decided to renovate this place for me to stay."

He paused and looked at her, "That's why she was the one who decorated this place. But if you don't like it, just change it however you want".

Shao Yan blushed, and then she glared at him. Who wanted to touch your house!

She just decided to ignore him, and walked away. Li Xiqing just chuckled behind her and followed her to the kitchen.

Li Xiqing started preparing dinner and Shao Yan was just standing on the side watching him. He was preparing the vegetables now.

"Are you sure you don't need me to do anything?" she had tied her hair to a pony tail so she could help him with something. But to her surprise, he just got busy by himself and left her with nothing to do.

"At lease I know how to cook rice but you won't even let me do that" she complained.

Shao Yan kept hovering around him, giving him headaches. Li Xiqing stopped and looked at her, "Why don't you go out and watch TV for a while? Dinner will be ready soon."

Shao Yan stood next to him and wanted to see what he was doing with the vegetables. Li Xiqing looked at her for a while.

Since her hair was now tied up, he had a clear view of her face. Li Xiqing was looking at the shape of her nape. He didn't realize it before, but it was so beautiful. He kept staring at her.

He lowered his head and kissed the back of her neck. He lightly bit on the skin and then he said slowly in his deep voice "Yan Yan, you're distracting me here."

Shao Yan stiffened up and then reflexively put her hand on the spot that he just kissed while turning to look back at him with wide eyes. And then she swiftly escaped from there.
