Yin Shou and Long Huojin went back to the house, where the girls were waiting for them. Xue Liena, Long Bolin, and Xue Gao stayed as extra guests.
Xue Teegan said she didn't feel like going back home as the video footage haunted her, watching as w.a.n.g Weimin entered in and out of the house with remorselessness on his face. She wondered how someone could be so vicious and cruel, which is why she felt heated at the moment and almost strangled him to death.
Therefore, the entire Xue family would stay at the house until they move. However, Long Huojin had already offered Xue Gao his home. Long Huojin told his father-in-law that he and Xue Guangli would find a new one as a married couple.
Xue Gao thanked Long Huojin considerably for his kindness and efforts. Xue Guangli felt warm as she witnessed the moment between her father and husband.
In the bedroom, Xue Guangli asked Long Huojin, "Where did you and Yin Shou go?"
Long Huojin was changing out of his clothes when he joined his wife under the covers. "I went with Yin Shou to visit Qian Meigui. We wanted to finalize some things in regards to your sister and me. We wanted to make sure the charges dropped." It was a half-truth.
Long Huojin and Yin Shou did visit his lawyer, but only before they stopped by the Rui Inst.i.tute. It would be the last secret he would keep from her.
Xue Guangli cuddled against him; she held him tightly, squeezing to the point where he almost couldn't breathe. But Long Huojin let her.
When she let go, Xue Guangli sat up on the bed; she folded her legs and gave out an exasperated sigh. She had a lot on her mind, including some information she couldn't process.
Long Huojin reached out to take her hand, as Xue Guangli responded by entwining their fingers together like weaving thread.
"You were there that night?" she asked softly, almost like a whisper.
"Yes," he breathed. Long Huojin was afraid; he was worried because he wasn't sure if he should have told her sooner. But he was always fearful of how she would process the information. He didn't know who killed Xue Hien, and to confess he was there that night, he wasn't sure what anyone would believe.
"You were there...during her last moments?" she asked softly, not looking at him.
Long Huojin was silent for a moment. "Yes," he answered.
Xue Guangli bit her lip; she tightened the grasp on his hand. Her fingers trembled, tears falling against her own accord.
"I'm sorry," she said.
Long Huojin was startled. "For what?" he asked, confused.
She turned to face him with red-rimmed eyes. "I'm sorry you had to go through that," she apologized hoa.r.s.ely.
Long Huojin's eyes widened. He reached out to pull her into his soft embrace. "Don't be; she was your mother. My only regret was not saving her," he admitted.
Xue Guangli gave him a sad smile. "There was nothing you could have done," she a.s.sured him. "I'm sure it happened quickly."
"Very quickly," his voice broke.
Xue Guangli tightened her grip on his shoulders. "Thank you," she said sadly, "Thank you for not leaving her alone."
Long Huojin held onto her tighter; he hated remembering that night. It gave him nightmares for months; he felt utterly broken, confused, and lost.
He distanced himself from Xue Guangli but watched and took care of her from behind the scenes, as he healed. That was why they barely saw each other for three years before they crossed paths again. It wasn't that he was entirely gone; he needed that time and s.p.a.ce to figure things out. He wondered: Why Xue Hien?
She was that bright spirit that people leaned on, that welcomed youngsters like himself, and treated them like her own.
Though, he also spent that time watching Xue Guangli and her sisters. He only resurfaced when he felt that w.a.n.g Weimin wasn't good for her. He heard things from his social circle, and he didn't like it. But he thought she was happy with him; therefore, he didn't interfere, not until she called him the day they broke up.
And when he picked her up in his arms on that rainy night, that was the day he was determined not to let her go.
Long Huojin held Xue Guangli, "I love you," he said.
"I love you, too," she responded wholeheartedly.
Xue Teegan exited the washroom; her face flushed from the shower steam; her red hair plastered against the back of her pink robe. Her cheekbones were sharp and delicate, as Yin Shou had the urge to trace them when he entered the room, seeing her.
"Where have you been?" she asked him. She approached him with curious eyes, but something in them glinted. She was in jail hours ago, and yet, she acted as if nothing happened.
"Why are you watching me so intensely?" Yin Shou asked her teasingly.
Xue Teegan pursed her lips, flus.h.i.+ng. "You're wearing dark leather." It was her weakness.
Yin Shou dressed in black from the collar of his neck to his ankles, with polished black shoes. He also wore a black leather jacket over, making him appear mysterious. His dark hair tumbled over his hazel eyes that glinted with mischief. Xue Teegan gazed at his lips.
"Do you want to know?" he asked low and deep, absorbed by her allure.
Xue Teegan nodded, approaching him closely, nearly pus.h.i.+ng him against the bedroom door. She watched him like a leopard.
He lifted his hand, revealing his sc.r.a.ped knuckles. "I paid that b.a.s.t.a.r.d a visit," he admitted. Xue Teegan's eyes widened, taking his hand in her palm. Judging by his split skin, w.a.n.g Weimin's face should be bruised and bloodied. She brushed Yin Shou's skin softly with her thumb, and she placed it to her mouth, kissing it.
She then gazed at him, affectionately with a smile. It stunned him. He was a grown man, had partic.i.p.ated in many fights, but yet he felt as if he was melting when she looked at him.
Xue Teegan circled her arms around his neck. She reached up to his face, close to his ear. "Come to bed with me," she said seductively.
Xue Teegan didn't know what overcame her. It was an emotional day, but Yin Shou was there with her. Most men would consider violent women as vicious and wild, but Yin Shou didn't look at her like that. He paid the bail money, went to give the man she hated most a lesson, and he returned to her.
Yin Shou picked her up with a quick-sweep motion, carrying her thighs. For him, Xue Teegan began to feel things that were far deeper than a fleeting romance, or a simple crush. It was something she was willing to accept but not ready to tell him, not yet.
Yin Shou settled her down over the covers, kissing her neck greedily. He snaked a hand from her ankle, up to her thigh, squeezing. Xue Teegan exhaled and reached underneath his s.h.i.+rt, roaming her hands over his broad chest and smooth skin.
Xue Teegan loved it when they made love. Yin Shou took his sweet time to learn her body and made sure she finished before him. Most men she f.u.c.ked didn't bother. It was about them.
But with Yin Shou, he made it about her pleasure.
Yin Shou was about to take off his jacket when she stopped him. "Don't. Keep your clothes on," she said with a blush. It wasn't that she didn't want to see him naked. No. She appreciated his beautiful tanned body, but she felt turned on seeing him with his dark clothing.
"I always wanted to do this," he breathed.
"Me too," she said with a dry throat. There was something about keeping clothes on. Perhaps the hurriedness of it, the impatient want and desire compelled them.
Xue Teegan kept on her robe, but since she wasn't wearing anything underneath, he was able to have easy access. He unzipped his pants, pulling out his pulsating c.o.c.k, the only skin she could see as he was covered from neck to toe.
Yin Shou pulled her towards the edge of the bed, as she laid down, and he stood. He entered her, thrusting in and out slowly, at first. Xue Teegan let out a sharp exhale when their bodies merged. It felt good to have him, to be connected.
He knew her well.
Xue Teegan held onto him, as he fastened his pace. She clung onto him, feeling him deep. There was something beautiful about lovemaking instead of f.u.c.king. She loved both, but she figured perhaps it felt better because it was with the right one.
