My eyes catching the small tilt of her head and expecting figure.
Slowly, I approach her discreetly; trying not to garner her attention.
The cameramen and staff are clearly enjoying every moment of this shot.
I can imagine how they will gather around to edit it. This should make for great entertainment.
I draw myself closer and closer, until I'm standing right behind her. The fragrance of her perfume wafts gently into my noise and calms my nerves.
I make my way to the opposite side, so that I can see her face and greet her, "Annyeonghaseyo, are you my... marriage partner?" I ask as she sweeps the sudden hair blowing away from her face. My eyes immediately jump in apparent shock as I recognize her.
"Noona! It was you all along?!" I shout, half-bewildered and half-shocked.
"Sorry." She apologizes, "I knew who you were on the flight; I just pretended not to. Did I surprise you?"
"Did you surprise me? Isn't that obvious?" I answer in clear stupefaction, "Are you really my marriage partner? I'm asking for real this time."
She nods in confirmation.
"Daebak!" I turn to face the camera, hands covering my mouth before I give a thumbs up.
'My 'wife' is Kim Tae!' I scream internally, full of happiness and satisfaction that I almost cried tears of happiness.
Unsure of how this situation came to be, I can't help but question everyone:"But… why?"
"What do you mean?"
"No offense to the GM crew, but you're… the Kim Tae. Don't you have better things to do with your time?"
She scoffs at the question with ridicule, "I thought it would be fun. Do you know how I pick my projects?"
"Enlighten me, please." I say, as everyone perks up in interest.
"Rather than a role that looks pretty or lovely, I choose a work based on how interesting it is to me." She says with her arms crossed, "I don't worry about how my image will change by playing a certain character. When Jeong-ah came to me with this idea and made me watch your interview, I thought I'd give it a try." She says with a big grin plastered on her face.
"So you knew from the beginning? And here I thought you approached me because of my das.h.i.+ng looks." I pout before putting on a frown.
"You had no idea?"
"Yeah, I had no idea~!"
"Oh, I see..." She smiles to herself.
"Am I turning red?" I ask as I fan myself—this situation is just too crazy. Who would have guessed that Kim Tae would appear on a variety program? With me, too!
I slowly stop my fanning before coughing, "So, about my answers, what did you think?" I ask her, trying to avoid the awkward silence that covered us.
"I think... that... I will like spending time with you." She says, a grin animating her features.
"Huh? That's not what I asked?"
"But that's what it made me feel." She bickers with me.
With the wind blowing into her eyes, her eyelashes flutter while her hair dances rhythmically in the wind. Seriously?! Is someone controlling the fan or something? This is definitely a commercial! We're filming a commercial!
"Um, what was your first impression of me?" She asks suddenly. Voice turning meek like a sheep, she placed her hands behind her back and played with her toes lightly on the sand.
"On the plane?" I respond.
"Uh-uh."
"Well... at first, it was 'who's this weirdo in sungla.s.ses?"then, 'she's kinda pretty' and it turned into: 'I'd like to see her more.' What about you? What was your first impression?"
She puffs her cheeks out cutely and tilts her eyebrows into an angled arch as she tries to explain herself, "For me, it was first 'Hey, this guy looks familiar', then it was 'oh,that's Dylan Park, he's pretty good-looking.' and in the end it was more of a "He's pretty fun to hangout with'".
"Just that? Are you sure you didn't think of anything else?" I noticed the way she mimicked my own way of explaining.
"Like, what?"
"Like 'I want him' I have that effect on girls, you know." I played with my eyebrows.
"As if, you are about 10 years too early to flirt with this noona." She says, quite proudly.
"Hmm, then, who can? What's your ideal type?"
"Ideal type? I don't have one."
I turn to the cameras and exaggerate my response as everyone watched me, "Eyy⁓ you don't have to give me a politically correct answer. It's just us two—" I cupped my mouth in a discreet manner "—and about 5 million other people."
Laughing at my really bad joke, she almost hits me before saying "Honest! I don't have one person readily in mind. I like someone that I can actually talk to and share my feelings with. Maybe someone gentle and well caring. Someone who I can be comfortable having a conversation filled with with. I guess?
"You don't care about the physical aspect at all?"
"Not really, as long as they are a kind person. I don't really look at physical appearances."
"What if, the guy is shorter than you?"
"I'd prefer if he was at least 10 centimeters taller, so I can wear heels. But, on the other hand, if the guy is shorter and if he catches my attention, that would be fine too."
"How tall are you?" I ask in growing curiousness.
"165 cm."
"You don't have to worry with me then—you can wear anything— wear as big and high of a heel as you want."
"Kamsamnida! (Thank you!)" She says with a nervous laugh and slight bow, her eyes twinkling.
"How about you?
What's your ideal type?"
"Mine… umm I actually care a lot about appearance " I pause and watch her facial expressions change, "I'm just kidding; looks aren't everything, and I wouldn't say I have an ideal 'type' but I have been told I have a type before."
She scrunches her eyebrows together, "By who?"
"The readers."
