"What do you mean your son?! You have too many to count!"
"Simonifirac."
The words were clear, and the expression could not be simpler; the audience understood full well what the meaning of it all is. Karlus stared blankly at his son who was standing next to the Blood Sovereign. Simon had been called 'papa' and Malece had been called 'mama', it did not take a genius detective to understand the meaning of the child's words. Something happened and it was not something that could be considered as natural.
Suddenly Karlus came up with a reason on why Simon had probably been missing for the last two years. He had a rough picture but at the same time he felt quite overwhelmed by the picture he had just painted.
'My son's wife is the Blood Sovereign...? He already has a child....? I am finally a grandfather?'
He was internally elated, but did not let a single emotion show under his iron hard exterior.
His son had not only become the blood consort, but furthered the family lineage. Karlus could not be prouder.
"O, so the Blood Sovereign must have taken your boy as a breeding slave. It must feel amazing to know that your Simonifirac is nothing more than a slave. I for one would never let Mattricht be shamed like this. Not only is your Simonifirac behind, now he is not even a free devil." Oberon scoffed in satisfaction as he grossly misrepresented the situation.
"Papa is 'breeding shwave'?" Dahlia repeated Oberon's words with a slight mistake.
BADUMP
"Hahaha..." Simon laughed and pointed at Oberon.
"Why do you say such gross words in front of my daughter? She heard everything. She is so innocent too. Why did you just let her hear that? Do you even know what you have done?" A flickering light started to rumble from both of Simon's eyes, masking his gaze in a chaotic aura.
"Dear, would you please bring Dahlia to her room." Simon gently said to Malece.
"No need to ask." Malece grinned evilly and left with Dahlia in her embrace.
"That is not how a slave should act! Addressing your master by their first name!" Oberon's mind had crumbled. He had expected Simon to be way behind, so when he saw Simon with Malece, Oberon forced himself to a.s.sume the worst for Simon. Oberon simply had too much pride in his words.
"How about this? You give me a heartfelt apology, or else you want become ashes."
"Today, you have multiplied my troubles in raising my child. You, a mere ant, have impeded in my child's moral growth. Under Devil Law, I could have you tortured for a period of over a century before executing you. However, I am kind. I will give you this one chance to make amends."
"Oh please! You probably haven't even managed to break through to the 6th rank-"
CRACK
A sudden pulse of energy bursted forward from Simon, impacting Oberon's left knee, shattering it in an instant.
"AAAAARGH!"
"Actually, you know nothing." Simon walked closer to the crippled Devil.
One must note that when one is born as a devil, they fundamentally become a devil. Even with past lives under their belt, blood is thick. A devil is a pa.s.sionate and expressive existence. An existence that is beautiful and terrifying. When one progresses in their years, they become wiser. Sometimes this wisdom leads a devil to crush all opposition.
"The maids should be on break right now. Cleaning your ashes would be a burden right now."
Simon flicked Oberon's head. With his eyes staring blankly and his body becoming limp, his gaze froze before his expression turned plain.
THUMP
Oberon fell to the floor, not dead, but probably would have wished he was dead. With a knee that had become powder, he would never walk again. He would still be a 6th ranked devil, however, he would be a handicapped one.
Simon noticed a particularly familiar pair of eyes pointed at him from the bewildered crowd, recognising them to belong to his father.
"Greetings father, I apologise for being away for the last two years. As you can see, I have been very busy with many many important things." Simon walked over to Karlus and bowed his head slightly.
"You are a good son! That arrogant Oberon thinks he can humiliate our family just because his son is considered a genius! Now look at him, he is nothing in front of you. I never doubted that you were always the most hard working of my children. You are my true pride." Karlus let a tear of joy drip down from his left eye, slowly creeping its way down towards his chin. He grasped his hand onto Simon's shoulder and smiled.
"Hahah... Little Dahlia is sleeping, you should come and meet my our grand daughter later. She naturally inherited a great deal of potential."
"That, I definitely will do. I can definitely rest well knowing that one of my sons is more powerful than a clar at only the age of 18, and the consort to the Blood Sovereign. I can die peacefully knowing that I have a grandchild now!" Karlus smiled warmly and let out a thunderous laugh. There had never been a time where he had been more joyful.
"Listen son, I intend to make you the family head. None of your brothers can compare to you, so you will naturally become my successor."
Simon sighed softly.
"Father, I intend to travel a lot more often soon. I fear that becoming family head will only tie me down and stop me from offering your grand daughter better opportunities. I personally believe that Jazukal would be a great family head." Simon had to reject Karlus. Being family head would make him unable to travel freely.
"I understand fully. But I must ask, what is your strength now? You are surely stronger than Oberon, but I want to know how far my son has gotten. I need more things to brag about. You know how things are as a public figure..."
"Father, The easiest way to answer is this, 'a servant is not really a servant if they hold more power than the master.'"
