The music was his release of any of the stress I was feeling letting me let out all my aggression as yelled out to the lyrics singing along with it. Slamming open the doors, I let the membrane loose the music spreading out, a drone staring at me with a look of confusion on its face.
Surrendering myself to the dance and the magic around me, I amplified the effect every chorus, shadows covering my face subconsciously creating a black war paint. Little did I know I causing chaos around my unconscious body, every time I amplified the music it was heard around my body, and my subconscious use of the war paint had bled over to my real face.
Seeing my dance the psionic crab started to scurry around happily to the music, hopping up and down to it. It hadn't seen its master so jubilant before and it was trying to join the celebration. Whereas the strangler hid under a corpse at the loud noises, its black eyes looking worried as it had never heard anything so loud before.
The wind was swirling everywhere as I freely released it causing the trees around me to wave and sway as if they also loved the music. Many small creatures running for their lives as a tornado of sand started picking up in a large circle around me.
As the last part of the song came up, I let the wind surround me as I jumped up and slammed down to the floor creating a gust of wind around me. Linking a path of negative energy to the positive energy up high in the air lightning crashed to the ground making black marks all around me.
I felt mentally exhausted from the expenditure of so much mana but I finally felt relaxed and happy once again letting my worries get carried by the wind away from me. Laughter filled the air happily, replacing the chaos and explosions that were happening earlier with bell-like chuckles.
Those weren't my memories and they could be used for benefits I couldn't even think of right now. A s.h.i.+ver came to my body as I shook my head, "Sometimes evil is a necessity that we can learn from. I won't let that shape who I am."
Laying my body down in the gra.s.s I sighed and stared up at the sky. The strangler coming out from the corpses to impregnate more, but I just called him over. I didn't know how many he had done, but it would be enough for now. I just wanted to relax and let my mind wander for a bit, I hadn't actually taken a break since I woke up.
I began to slowly shape the wind again to another song lazily, as the 'Lazy Song' started playing above me. Now that I wasn't full of energy and concentrating on anything a notification popped up.
'Learned the spell Audio Mimicry.'
After finding out the formula for the spell, and how to get it to work, modifying its structure to a new song was rather easy. With this spell, I could mimic any audio that I had heard or remember. This could be beneficial to me in many ways, and I was pleased with the catchy tune playing above me.
'Apollo likes your music, but warns you against being too lazy.'
'Blessing increased!'
'Your ability to learn is much faster, doubly so for ranged weapons, but you will never be able to hold a discus, and your body nor face will grow hair.'
"What the h.e.l.l?" I looked at the words very concerned, male bodies look weird in places, and no hair will make them look even stranger. "Apollo's quests are off limits to me now. I can't afford losing more hair!"
After resting for what seemed like hours, I lifted up my body with the wind around me with a smile. "I need to practice my creation magic. This wind magic is going to make me lazier than I already am."
There was however one thing that happened during that chaotic dance, the bodies had been scattered everywhere. The babies at least needed to be gathered together so I would know exactly where they were. These little guys could kill themselves just breathing air, I wouldn't expect any of them to survive if they woke up under the piles of corpses around me.
With a disgusted look on my face, I started gathering up the bodies that had been impregnated. At least I was hoping they were impregnated as some of them were just probably bloated from the ga.s.ses in the corpse. Quite a few of them had slithering maggots already born inside of them. I wondered if my large larva would see them as their smaller brothers, I rather hoped not as there was going to probably be a fly problem in a few days, either way, I'd much rather see them slaughter the flies.
I soon found a ball of flesh that had gorged itself until it was as wide as it was long. A grin on my face I told it to evolve as this was probably the limit of the body. Most creatures wouldn't expand into giant balloons before evolving but then again they wouldn't be able to eat in excess like this.
'Four Evolutions Possible: G.o.dly Drone, Master Strangler, Elite Balloon, Eldritch Eye'
"Huh, I had never heard of a G.o.dly ranking before." I looked over all my options and thought for quite a while trying to weigh the pros and cons of each.
The pros of going with an elite or more powerful attachment would mean a more powerful base unit, allowing me to know exactly what it turns into. It also gave chances that higher evolutions would automatically become more powerful up to the advancement that they are. However new evolutions meant new traits, new progression, and were usually more powerful but harder to advance than the more advanced basic options.
Considering that each evolution option that wasn't a template was molded by what they ate, and I had no clue what the h.e.l.l he ate to become like this, he would probably be a unique creature on his own with either of the last two options. The second of the last two had the best of both worlds, but honestly, that one could actually be the weakest of any of the options depending on how long it has been elite and how much more energy is needed to progress to Soldier.
In the end, I couldn't come up with anything so I drew four words on the ground and dropped the big ball of fat from about three feet up. "Whatever word you end up resting on will be your evolved form."
A squee came from the fat larva as it fell towards the words in fear of the ground. Sadly it couldn't even move in this form! It bounced around for a few times before rolling around in a panic. When it finally stopped moving I picked up the bowling ball that was the larva.
"Olay, evolve into a..."
