Arina lives in a dormitory five blocks from the campus while I live in the nearby town.
I greeted the landlady when I pa.s.sed by her and she just nod her head.
I knocked on the door and Arina opened it up for me.
"Where have you been this whole week?" I asked and sat on her bed.
Good thing her dormmates aren't here.
"Uh...here?" she said as if it's nothing.
I looked at her eyes. It was dull and empty contrary to what she shows.
"You have the audacity to absent and miss midterms for that reason?" I unbelievably asked.
"Uh, yes."
"Seriously Arina, do you have a problem?" I asked, looking into her eyes.
"What? No! I'm perfectly fine."
I raised my brows.
"I just don't feel like going to school. You know? Pressure? Stress? I'm not good at handling those, you know that very well."
I just nodded at what she said. Something's not right here. I can feel it.
I looked at her from head to toe. She's wearing a hoodie even though the sun is high up in the sky.

"What's with your outfit?" I asked.
"Nothing. I just don't want mosquito bites," she said.
"Mosquitoes at this hour? What are you up to? You seems to be off these day." I complained. I don't have any idea of what's going on.
"Nothing actually. I'm just tired, I wanna rest." She casually said.
No matter how hard I tried, I still can't find any answer. What's wrong with you, Arina?
"Ah, I almost forgot. I thought you were sick so I decided to go the market and bought some fruits," I gave her the bag of fruits.
She opened the plastic and I was shock when I saw tears rolling down her cheeks.
"W-what's wrong? Did I do something wrong? Don't you like it?" I asked in panic.
"Ellie you don't know how much I'm craving for apples," she said and hugged me.
"What's with the tears?"
I'm confused. Between the two of us, I'm way more of a crybaby than her. Her tears isn't this shallow unlike before.
"I'm just happy. Thank you Ellie," she said and went to the table to eat the apples.
After quite a while, she stared at the apple and irritatedly stand up to peel off the skin of the apples.
She isn't like this. She's odd. What is wrong with you, Arina?
