Eventually, the bandits found themselves with a leader with unfathomable strength. Someone who was nearly as strong as the Dragon Emperor!
This leader took the Divine Kill Bandit group and began training them to become his own personal army. He taught them techniques, cultivation, and all of the major occupations. Blacksmith, pill forging, talismans, formations and so forth.
The founder of the sect Master Gur Yung decided to use the Beast Men Forest to temper his men. It had been a long-standing tradition that every so often, young warriors would descend from the Divine Kill Sect to temper themselves by killing the peaceful Beast Men.
Not having a choice about this, the Beast Men of the forest worked together to keep down the death rate and tried to kill as many evil cultivators as possible.
Suddenly all of this changed! The Divine Kill Sect aimed at completely wiping out the Beast Men forest. It had gotten out that the last vestiges of the Wu Di Clan were located on this planet. It was also known that there existed a Dragon/Wu Di hybrid baby dragon.
The intel was 'accidentally' leaked by Major Funnen who the Dragon princess had removed from his post. He felt bitter about his situation and decided to quietly seek revenge. So far, no one knew that he was the source of the leak. Who would think a prisoner could get a message out to the Divine Kill Sect.
Master Gur knew that the Dragon Empire was trying to make peace with the Wu Di clan. The reason he chose to act was that he received a very generous commission from the Gung Empire.
The commission was so much that it equaled more than the wealth the sect had gathered over the course of the last ten thousand years!
Their targets were two, the dragon kid and the Wu Di Clan. No matter what, the Dragon Clan could not join forces with the Wu Di Clan. Master Gur was also promised that if he killed the Dragon Princess and her forces; the Divine Kill Sect could move to the Gung Empire and receive Prestige status as a sect.
This would mean that the Divine Kill Sect could receive a large number of resources from the Gung Empire every year. They would have a place at the council of Sects and Master Gur would become an advisor to the Emperor himself.
There was nothing bad about this deal for the Divine Kill Sect.
Master Gur decided to destroy the Beast Men forest as they were close friends with the Ying family. He also doubted that the Princess and Wu Di Clan, who had a history of hiding, would help. Even if they did, Master Gur was confident that he could still overcome them.
Even if he hadn't received the commission from the Gung Empire, Master Gur was planning to wipe out the Beast Men Forest anyway. He heard the worrisome news that the Beast Men had located a number of legacies from the era of Heroes.
Master Gur still remembered that period of time. He was much weaker back then and he nearly died in one of the battles. Now, they were discovering those legacies and strengthening themselves. This wasn't a threat to Master Gur, but it was to his high-tier warriors.
Add to that the emergence of the Wu Di Clan and the attempted alliance between the Dragon Empire and the Wu Di Clan and this all spelled trouble for his sect.
Now with the 'Great Commission' as he called it, and his own hatred of the Dragon Empire, master Gur was enthusiastic about wiping out everyone on this planet.
He would kill everyone and plunge their treasures. Steal the cultivation and martial technique he could and suck up every resource possible before leaving this entire planet as nothing more than a floating dead rock in s.p.a.ce.
Of course, the forces on the planet received word of the troop movement and deployments. It was time for everyone to gather together. The Beast Council met with the Dragon Princess and the Wu Di Clan Chief. Even Ying Xiong, Lorne, was asked to come.
He held a high level of prestige in the hearts of the Beast Men with his selflessness. Thanks to him they would be able to contribute to the upcoming fight.
The one person that no one could contact was the dragon boy, Wudi Long, who had previously saved the Dragon Princess and the Clan Chief's lives. If he were here he could be considered one of the elite fighters.
An unexpected person, however, did show up. It was the Dragon Elder. The Dragon Elder promised to help the clan in their fight against the Divine Kill Sect.
Not only did the Dragon Elder promise to help by fighting by their side, he even brought advanced weapons to help them in their battle. The Dragon Princess tried talking to the Dragon Elder, but he didn't seem interested in engaging her in conversation.
"Could it be he holds some kind of grudge against my Dragon Empire?" the Dragon Princess wondered. If this man went back with her to the Kingdom he would be an elite warrior.
Even with the limitation of only being a Copper horned dragon he had still managed to cultivate to such a high level. Why was she hearing about this power dragon only now?
Lorne watched as the leaders of the Beast World, this was Lorne's name for the planet. Through all the years of staying on this planet, no one had ever managed to name the place.
One of the things that he noticed that he really appreciated was how humble the Dragon Princess was. She didn't put on airs and gave the elders the respect they deserved as elders.
As the group of elders and leaders were finis.h.i.+ng their preparations someone burst into the meeting hall.
"Granpa Bear, the Divine Kill Sect is landing on our planet and its cultivators are heading towards our forest!" A little black bear man said in a rush.
"Alright, go to your positions and get ready to receive the Cultivator Flood!" Grandpa Bear growled.
The group dispersed, heading towards their positions. Lorne was heading out of the meeting when he felt a mighty hand on his shoulder. Lorne looked up;
"Big Bear!" Lorne cried out in joy seeing his friend. Big Bear had been away at the academy for almost a year now. However, with the state of emergency, all of the students at the warrior academy were sent back home to defend against the cultivator flood.
"Little Bear, I came to fight with you!" Big Bear said.
Lorne was taken back at how big Big Bear had gotten. He was always a giant to Lorne, but now he was more than twice the size he was when he left for the academy a year ago.
Big Bear was wearing the armor and weapons from the legacy cave. Lorne could tell that Big Bear was much more powerful than he was in the past.
"Let's go, Big Bear!" Lorne said.
As much as he would like to talk there was no time. It was a matter of life and death and they needed to get to their position. Every person was needed. Lorne would also look for an opportunity for Wudi Long to make an appearance.
The lines of defenders stood together shoulder to shoulder with the forest behind them. Before them, a vast and open valley floor spread out. The s.h.i.+ps had landed and the cultivators walked together towards them as if the destruction of all these people was a foregone conclusion.
Unexpectedly, the cultivators charged forward like a horde of demons! The Beast Men ran out to meet them in a mad melee of death. Lorne ran out and picked someone he could handle as a silver horn dragon.
At first, Lorne started to think that he wouldn't need to make an appearance as Wudi long. However, he noticed that there were countless warriors standing back near the s.h.i.+ps. Those were the elite warriors. Right now, they were only faced with the common soldiers. The Divine Kill Sect was just trying to wear them down.
Lorne looked at Big Bear next to him, he had also noticed the problem with the battlefield.
"Big Bear, we need to clear the field!" Lorne yelled.
"Big Bear looked down at him and nodded solemnly. From his storage ring, Big Bear brought forth his Khanda sword. It was still huge.
"Little Bear, I'll clear the ma.s.ses and you pick up the ones I miss." Big Bear said. Lorne agreed and the two went to work.
"DIE!!!" Big Bear yelled as he attacked with his ma.s.sive Khanda sword. The sword was called the Mountain Splitter, and right now it wasn't splitting mountains, but a sea of cultivators instead. As Lorne sat on Big Bear's shoulder he used his dragon breath to hit some of the warriors who managed to dodge the Mountain Splitter.
Lorne and Big Bear were starting to make a dent in the common soldiers. The dent was so big that the officers began to notice. This was part of their plan. Send out the ma.s.ses of common soldiers to identify the real threats from the Forest Fighters.
They identified their first threat. After designating these two as must kills, an officer was sent out to deal with them. Lorne noticed the man approaching and he couldn't help but smile. Finally, it was time for Ying Xiong to disappear and Wudi Long to appear.
The man made the little dragon his first choice for attack. The Baby Dragon was on the list of kills. If he could kill it he would receive a huge reward. Starting with a flying kick, the man kicked Lorne off Big Bear's shoulder. Big Bear saw Lorne flying through the air and cras.h.i.+ng through the trees.
Big Bear immediately lost it, his eyes turned red, his ma.s.sive body grew even bigger and he roared. Soon the roar became a vicious laugh.
"Hahaha DID YOU JUST KICK MY BROTHER?!!!" With that yell, Big Bear, who should have been much weaker than the attacking cultivator reached out his ma.s.sive bear-like hand and grabbed the cultivator.
He tossed him into the air and swung his Khanda on its flat surface, smas.h.i.+ng the cultivator like a baseball. Like a baseball, the cultivator was smashed into the distant horizon. What became of that cultivator no one ever knew, but it was more likely than not that even if he wasn't turned into paste, he was probably dead.
Big Bear was about to head back to check on his little brother when a golden streak blurred next to him.
"h.e.l.lo Big Bear, I'm Little Bear's Friend Wudi Long. He was knocked out cold but I was able to put him somewhere safe. He'll wake up in a little while." Lorne had finally made his appearance as Wudi Long. Brig Bear was surprised at first but then smiled.
"I hear you're strong. Let's see who can kill more of these evil cultivators!" Big Bear yelled. Once again, Big Bear was carving a path through the sea of cultivators.
Lorne Flew up above the cultivators and started a combination attack of dragon fire and Laser vision. Suddenly, Lorne landed and started running at super speed through the ma.s.s of cultivators and with short bursts of laser vision shot holes through the chests of their enemies.
Seeing this, both sides were taken back. Most people couldn't see anything other than countless cultivators whose chests suddenly opened into perfect burned circles. Those who could see had trouble following the image of the speeding Lorne. Lorne ran back and forth through the battlefield making quick work of the common soldiers. Soon, the men rus.h.i.+ng towards them started rus.h.i.+ng back.
When they tried to run back they were being slaughtered by the commanders before them. Either direction was death. They might as well choose the path that could earn some money. They decided, without anyone saying anything, to turn their murderous spirits back towards the golden dragon boy.
Unfortunately, their renewed killing intent didn't help them overcome their enemy. They just started dying faster and faster.
Finally, unable to take it anymore, Master Gu screamed:
SOMEONE KILL THAT DRAGON!!!
