He's right. She could have talked to him or Ren once in the last five years. She could have tried finding out if Chisa was telling the truth or not. She believed in what she saw and heard, not him. She never gave him a chance to prove himself. 

 "I didn't send those women's profiles to belittle you. I wanted you to realize that you can't give me away to someone else. I thought that you would feel something for me for once..."

Kiyohira can't stop himself from speaking out the wounds that she gave him since they met. 

"Would I send a.s.sa.s.sins and endanger my family?" She hears him say. "My grandmother died. Takes.h.i.+ was injured by one of them. Even then, you didn't doubt Chisa once. You doubted me. You thought that I was the type of men who would hurt my own son. You keep hurting me. When I told you that I wanted to help you with Chisa, you denied my help. But you were okay with DH helping you? Even after 5 years, you don't think once. You sent those papers with my son. "

Takes.h.i.+ was injured when he tried to protect her. 

She digs her nails in her palms, feeling hot tears stinging her eyes. 

Kiyohira's traitorous heart, in spite of the pain he's feeling now, wants to hear that she wants to be with him. He wants her to admit that she loves him. He has said those words many times to her. He wants to hear her say them once. 

How can he ever hate her? Even if she's like this toward him, he can never hate her. 

Five years are gone. They have a son. There's still years left in their lives.  

He waits, but nothing comes. She doesn't look up and meet his eyes. 

"Even now..." He lets out a weak sigh, breaking the heavy silence. "I said that I would divorce you and take my son with me. You haven't refused that once. You are still thinking of cutting me away from your life. You would do that to Yuta too. You would abandon everyone."

She parts her lips and exhales. What's the meaning of saying those words now? She has to send her son away from her. The DH won't let her leave. The future is unpredictable. She's back at the crossroad again. If she had known that she was pregnant and Kiyohira did love her back then, what kind of decision she would have taken?

"Thank you for bringing Yuta to this world." Kiyohira smiles at her bitterly. "I accept your decision. I won't pursue you anymore. You have succeeded in killing my feelings for you. From now on, you are only Yuta's mother for me."

Yuta, who's been hearing the conversation, runs to them and stands between them. "I oppose this!"

Kiyohira looks at his son. "You oppose what?"

"The divorce," Yuta says loudly before his mother can utter her thoughts. "As your son, I have a say whether my parents should get divorced or not."

Rie and Kiyohira furrow their brows. 

"Father, you promised me three wishes." Yuta turns to his father first. "My first wish is that you can never divorce my mother. You can never ever sign the divorce papers. If she tries to divorce you, you will oppose it until your last breath."

This is unexpected. Kiyohira leans forward, listening to his son gravely. He can't go back on his words. It doesn't matter to him whether he divorces her or not. He knows that he won't love any other woman. He just doesn't want to be with her anymore. "What are your other wishes?"

"My second wish is that I want a sister within a year. She should be my mother's and your daughter. I won't accept a surrogate's child or an adopted daughter." Yuta lays down his second wish. He won't leave any loophole for them. "If the child isn't a girl, you should keep trying until I get a sister."

Rie watches her son with a calm gaze. n.o.body can guess what's going inside her head. Yuta feels the pressure from her. Even though he was an a.s.sa.s.sin once, he still feels gooseb.u.mps under her chilling eyes. 

It's fine. His father is here. She can't pack him and send him to the mental hospital. 

"My third wish is that my father and mother must live together. I want a family." Yuta inhales as he turns and looks at his mother. The desperation and longing in his eyes are clear. "I want to stay with both of you as a family. I love Mother. I love Father. Don't ask me to live with only one of you. Can't you do that for me, Mother?"
