I raised my free hand and a light barrier appeared in front of me. The young girl b.u.mped into it and wailed loudly. Her previous timid and scared expression turned violent as her evil face overlapped with her innocent face.

At least her innocent soul was still there even just a little bit of it. I took a deep breath as I retracted the light barrier from my left hand. My fingers touched the girl's forehead, ignoring the overlapping shadow in her face.

"You've done a lot of misdeeds which caused you to lose yourself in it. It's hard for me to clean you off but I can help you to regain your own self. Just promise me that you'll stop harming the innocence and start cleaning yourself." I told the little girl.

The timid girl appeared for a second as she nodded her head vigorously.

"NO!" The old woman screamed in denial.

"No? Not only helping her regain her own self, but I'll also pull out what you've put in her to control her. That way you won't have a way to control her anymore." I smirked, provoking the old woman.

Hearing what I said, the old woman's eyes widened. She must have not guessed that I knew about her trick.

I sneered. Ignoring the old woman who was struggling to free herself from my light rope, I focused on the girl in front of me. My eyes were closed to allow me be more concentrate on the task in front of me. Leaving the rope on its own, my hands were now focused to pull out all of the things and curse put into this girl.

I estimated she was around thirteen or fourteen before she died. She must have been deceived by this old woman to work under her sinful action. Poor her, died so young yet when she died, she was used to no good things and ended up being swallowed by her hatred and negativity. Thankfully, a small part in her was still refusing to let the darkness swallow her whole and it was that tiny piece of goodness inside that gave me courage to help her.

I wouldn't do something I didn't have confidence in. As I said I could help her, I was sure I could definitely help her.

I didn't know how much time had pa.s.sed since I started to pull out the bad things that had been planted inside of this kid's soul, but I knew that I spent much energy on it. By the time I finished, the timid and pure soul of a young girl appeared in front of me with no trace of evil in her eyes. I felt a bit drain of energy, but my task had not done yet.

Lisa was still in my house. I needed to act quickly before she caught me in the act. I needed to know everything I needed to know.

I took a deep breath and watched the things that I pulled out from the girl. I couldn't figure out the shape of these things, but when I touched it, I had a suspicion that it was a kind of fire. Some of them were smelly, like a wound infection. Some of them felt p.r.i.c.kly. But I still couldn't see what they were.

I nodded my head. "What are those?" I pointed at those things that were fidgeting slightly.

"Those are the ability she gave me. My job was to make someone sick of infection even from a small wound, burn one's body from the inside, torture that person, and melt one's skin until this person died." The girl obediently explained.

My body went rigid when I heard that. I felt familiar with those conditions. "How many people did you kill before?"

The girl lowered her head in shame and guilty. "I've tried to stop myself but I couldn't. I'm sorry." She sobbed lightly.

I sighed and glared at the old woman who was still struggling herself with the binding. "Why are you following Lisa?"

"My task has not done. I was ordered to slowly torture a young man. But before I could torture him thoroughly, he died. I was sent back here to hurt a young woman named Lisa, but I didn't have opportunity to approach her. She is surrounded by many scary old men."

As she was talking, I was pulled into her memory. It was like in the horror movie where the main lead was pulled into the ghost' memory to show the main lead the way the ghost died.

The only difference was this time was not in a movie.

It happened in real life. It was as if I was watching horror movie in real life.

In her memory, I saw Lisa was with a young man I suspected was Lisa's younger brother. Then, I saw Lisa went away, I didn't know where she went to.

I was about to follow Lisa when I saw another young man was approaching Lisa's brother. He offered cigarette for Lisa's younger brother and the latter took it. As he lit it up and took a deep breath of its smoke, he failed to see the weird gaze of the man.

But, I saw everything!

Apparently, he was the one who make Lisa's brother fell sick.

His motive was still unknown, but it wouldn't take long for me to know about it. He was just testing his new power of cursing people, torturing them with a disease where no doctors or scientist could cure.

Testing his power and his carelessness made someone died. This kid was seriously twisted in his way of thinking.

I stared at the young man who was now walking away with a wide smile on his face, malicious intent in his eyes and somehow he resembled this old woman in some ways.

"Your grand kid?" I turned to see the old woman.
