An Lan sighed. Sometimes, her heart ached for him and his workload.
Probably because he was really tired, Xu Baohan went to bed after showering.
An Lan was also tired and woke up soon after.
After an unknown amount of time, her body felt like it was being hugged by someone.
She opened her eyes slightly and realized that it was already dawn outside. There were two hands around her waist and Xu Baohan’s head was rubbing against her cheek.
“Don’t be noisy,” she turned around and mumbled.
Xu Baohan leaned over and kissed her gently and intimately.
“I didn’t brush my teeth,” An Lan evaded vaguely.
“It’s alright, I have to go to work.” Xu Baohan raised his hand and pinched her cheek, annoyed that he couldn’t spend more time with her.
An Lan was stunned for a moment. She suddenly remembered that he had gone for an IV drip, but she didn’t see any needle marks on this hand. She glanced over and looked at the back of his other hand, but she didn’t see any.
She was a little confused. wasn’t IV drip usually done on the hand.
“Are you coming tonight?” Xu Baohan asked as he hugged her tightly.
“Mm… I’ll see how it goes,” An Lan answered vaguely. She felt that she might not have fully woken up, and her mind was a little slow right now.
“Remember to tell me when you’re coming.” Xu Baohan really didn’t want to leave her side in the middle of winter, but there was nothing he could do.
“Okay, you should go to work,” An Lan urged.
“I’ll make you breakfast before you leave.” Xu Baohan brushed away the stray strands of hair on her forehead.
“No need.” An Lan felt sorry that he didn’t rest last night. “You’re tired too, I’ll just eat some noodles later.”
“I’m tired, but you’re tired too, you’ve been waiting for me at home.” Xu Baohan kissed her again before he went to wash up and change his clothes.
After the bedroom fell silent, An Lan couldn’t fall asleep under the blanket. She could clearly remember that Xu Baohan had not noticed any needle marks on the back of his hand ever since he entered the room. Could it be that he had lied last night? He didn’t have IV drip treatment, he wasn’t going to the hospital either.
Then where had he been.
The more she thought about it, the more she felt that something was wrong. She sat up and walked towards the bathroom.
He came back too late in the morning, his clothes were still in the basket. She reached into his pocket and found a hospital bill. The patient’s name was Zhuang Tianya, and the time of payment was 1 am.
This meant that he did not receive IV drip himself, but was accompanying Zhuang Tianya as she got the drip herself yesterday.
An Lan stood there in a daze for a long time before she lowered her head to sniff at the sweater inside. There was indeed an unfamiliar female fragrance.
Suddenly, footsteps could be heard from outside the bedroom. She hurriedly stuffed the list back in, and Xu Baohan walked in.
They looked at each other, his eyes flickering. “Going to the toilet?”
“Yes.” An Lan nodded. She wasn’t in a hurry to expose him, but wanted to see what he wanted to do.
“I’ve made congee for you, you can eat it when you wake up,” Xu Baohan said as he picked up the clothes in the basket. “I’ll throw my clothes into the was.h.i.+ng machine to wash them. Remember to help me dry them when the time comes.”
“Just leave them there, I’ll wash them for you later,” An Lan said as she pursed her lips.
“Don’t you have to go to work too?” Xu Baohan picked up his clothes and walked over.
An Lan looked at his back and felt a slight pain in her breathing.
Why did he have to lie to her.
Didn’t he say that he wouldn’t be in contact with Zhuang Tianya anymore? Why did he still accompany her for IV drip treatment until five in the morning? What did he mean by that.
Not only that, he even lied to her.
Didn’t he think about how worried she was last night.
After Xu Baohan left, An Lan didn’t sleep.
She was tired and sleepy before, but now she was no longer sleepy.
