"Lu! Weisheng!" Yang Zheyan vigorously shook him, but it didn't seem to have woken him up. He resorted to his last method.
"Ow!" Lu Weisheng screamed, holding his head that was aching painfully. "What was that for? Don't you know that you have hands of steel!"
Yang Zheyan took a quick look at him up and down. It seems like he is back to his old self again. What was that all about?
"Forget it," Lu Weisheng mumbled his grievances. Rubbing his head, he took a look around at what they were currently doing. Where are they, and how did they get in this room? "W-where are we?"
"You tell me. You were the one who pulled me in." Yang Zheyan inspected Lu Weisheng's head. Just in case he accidentally caused him to have a mini amnesia.
"M-me? Stop, you're making me feeling all weird out." Lu Weisheng smacked away Yang Zheyan's hands. Although he does it all the time to Yang Zheyan to annoy him.
Lu Weisheng was in the same beautiful room he saw in a dream. If it could even be consider a dream? However, it was no longer decorated in gold or white. It was... Very shabby! The big unforgettable bed that was on the same exact spot he was standing on. It had only remaining dry up wood pieces that showed it once existed.
Lu Weisheng was so confused about what he just saw and experienced. He even touched!
"D-don't tell me a ghost possessed me?" Lu Weisheng stuttered, almost making Yang Zheyan believe he was going mad again. "The curse is real! Ghosts are real too!"
Yang Zheyan grabbed onto Lu Weisheng collar when he attempted to make a run for it. "What are you going on about now?"
Lu Weisheng turned to look at Yang Zheyan with weary eyes. "D-d-did you not see and hear any voices when we entered?"
Yang Zheyan nodded, "I did."
"Really! You really did?"
Yang Zheyan was only kidding, but it looks like Lu Weisheng wasn't based on his frightened expression. "I was kidding. It's only you and me here. What you heard might have been a..."
"G-ghost. It must be a ghost!" Lu Weisheng's voice became weaker by the seconds. The more thoughts he put into it, the more it made sense.
Then again, what was in that box that the man buried? Treasures? Forgetting about the whole ghost possession. Lu Weisheng scanned the room. Trying to detect precisely where it was buried again.
"There!" Lu Weisheng ran to the area and pulled out the wooden plank flooring. It wasn't hard to take it apart since it was already falling apart on its own. The most troublesome part will be digging it up and having no tools for it.
Taking a what seemed durable wooden stick, he began to dig up the ground. If what he saw was real, then the box buried here must be real too. Only the box will confirm what he saw and heard.
Yang Zheyan watched on as Lu Weisheng went on a crazy dig. He wasn't going to question anything anymore when it came to Lu Weisheng. He's been odd all day.
"Careful, you don't want to make another scar on those 'beautiful' hands of yours." Yang Zheyan smiled, teasing Lu Weisheng. As much as he hated when Lu Weisheng teased him. He wasn't that different when he teased Lu Weisheng back too.
Lu Weisheng tells him all the time that he never gets a good feeling about the scar on his right hand. Yet, there was no real explanation of why that is the case. On his right hand, there was a visible line like a deep cut. Except, it wasn't a cut Lu Weisheng caused but a birthmark that came along with him.
"Shut it! These hands of mine are beautiful, no matter what." Lu Weisheng continued his digging while complimenting his hands. Until he appeared to have hit something not hard or soft. Throwing the stick away, he dug up the rest with his hands. "It's... Real."
Yang Zheyan was taken back, seeing as Lu Weisheng actually dug up something. How did he know there was something buried here?
Lu Weisheng gently lifted out the box as gently as the person who put it there. Since what he saw was real, then that means this box was tainted with blood. At that thought, his hands trembled and down went the wooden box.
Thank goodness Yang Zheyan had quick reflexes and was able to catch it. He shook his head, "You do not find treasure just to break it."
Yang Zheyan did the honor of opening the box in Lu Weisheng's stead. His breathing stopped, and his heart quicken upon opening it. As if the spell on that box has been lifted by the return of its master. It was dropped onto the ground and split into many pieces. Even though all this time it did not deteriorate with time.
Upon the fall of the box, out came rolling a jade flute and a rolled-up paper scroll. Out of everything, his eyes landed on a green pouch with two embroidery koi fish on. Yang Zheyan fell on his knees and picked up each of the items.
"Eek! Are you crying?" Lu Weisheng shrieked, seeing tears dropping from the devil Yang Zheyan's eyes.
Yang Zheyan didn't answer him but slowly opened the scroll. This. His fingers trembled, tracing the fragile paper.
"A love as good as ours, who will truly understand. The devoted love that you and I once have will never fade..." Yang Zheyan read each line of the poem out loud and fluently.
Which confused Lu Weisheng even more because the language written in the scroll was an ancient language. No longer in use! How was Yang Zheyan reading it so fluently as if he knew the poem by heart? Wait, how was he also reading the poem and understanding it too?
One thing was for sure, Lu Weisheng never thought that by forcing Yang Zheyan to tag along with him. They will accidentally stumble upon a lost kingdom and found items hidden away. He always wondered who was the owner of these items. It didn't seem like it belonged to the person who buried it.
What he didn't know was that they found their way back to their owner already.
Long lost spoken promises began to unravel itself the moment they stepped back to where it all began. Now, the cursed palace awaits for its other master to come to retrieve her curses. In order to set everything back in place as it was meant to be.
